[7/31/2013 9:43:00 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: Hey, Dmitry Rommel, how are you doing! Just had a few questions for when you get back on: 1) I haven't gone through everything yet, but I have yet to find a "credits list", or one particular place that contains all the information of who made what resources. Do you have such a list & I just haven't found it yet? 2) I found a "rich text format" file (kinda like a Word document) called "wow_chronics7". It's all in Russian, so after translating it, it seems to be a giant document about WoW characters or something... What was this? Is it important to HoS? 3) Do you have one picture you think best portrays Heart of Storms as a mod entirely? I need to pick one picture that will show up as the "symbol" of the mod, and while I'm still poking around, I figured I'd ask you. Thanks again. Hope things are going well for you. [3:17:54 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: Hey [3:18:24 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: Hey (not sure how much time I have). What's up? [3:18:41 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: Just got your questions. [3:18:48 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: Yeah it was weird... [3:18:56 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: I logged into skype on my wife's profile to send the message... [3:19:07 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: And when I logged into the Skype on *my* profile, I couldn't find it. :< [3:19:08 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: I think credits were at HoS site... [3:19:22 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: I think credits were at HoS site... [3:19:25 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: I think credits were at HoS site... [3:20:01 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: 2) It's one of my (many) WoW articles for game press) [3:23:18 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: 1b) I found the credits list, but it's just a list of contributors. Do you have a list of all the people's contributions by type (i.e. "Jigrael made X,Y,Z models, Afronight made A,B,C skins", etc)? 2b) Ahh, that makes sense. Wait, so you write articles for a game magazine, too? [3:24:42 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: 1) had it in memory only. [3:24:58 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: 2) since 2000 :P [3:26:21 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: 1c) Oh... That's not good. :< For people to use a specific resource, it helps to have who created what. 2c) Oh wow, that's so cool. No wonder you're busy. Is that your "main job", or just on the side? How does one get a job like that? [3:28:20 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: Not a main now. [3:50:37 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: Huh. So do you have any one picture you think best symbolizes Heart of Storms? A splash screen or loading screen or icon? [3:51:16 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: do you have an example? [3:51:24 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: Umm... Hold on. [3:52:22 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: http://www.wc3c.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=35683&d=1216092508 (for Ominous Horizons) http://www.wc3c.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=43419&d=1243729112 (for the Great Troll War mod) [3:53:41 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: I'll cook one up. [3:53:52 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: I'll cook one up. [3:53:56 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: I'll cook one up. [3:54:56 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: Oh! Alrighty then. I was gonna say, on the "hos.samods.org", the info site with all the credits, you have a sorta lightly modified "Warcraft III" logo with "Heart of Storms" underneath it... But feel free to do something else! :P (btw, I'm getting triple-messages from you when you post...) [3:55:17 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: skype lag [3:57:46 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: Ah. Makes sense. Alright, I'll check back periodically; let me know when it's worked up. I'm still working on organizing the files for upload; school & work has kept me quite busy, so not much done, but still working. [3:57:56 PM] (Dmitry Rommel) romm-boss: ok [4:06:43 PM] Triumvirate Kyrbi0: Alright, thanks for answering. Talk atcha later; duty calls. ~~~ Heart of Storms Mod Site || Forum Status: In development (Closed beta released, public trailer available) Summary: One of the oldest mods in community (in production since 2002), intended to feature a full-scale single-player campaign in combination with a complete conversion of all five races as well. We aim to combine top-level technical work (unit model, skins, sounds) and a balanced unit set with an intriguing, character-driven story and challenging single-player missions. Features: Campaign/story - The multi-layered plot closely follows the events of Warcraft I and II, but at the same time interweaves them into an entirely different story; - The epic conflict is shown through the eyes of characters who just try to find their way rather than becoming great heroes; - Along with known 'old friends', two new races are introduced, ones never seen before in the world of Warcraft: the enigmatic Shadow Elves of the Aether Cult, worshippers of an Old Goddess; and poweful Stygians, an ancient race of sentient machines, the arch-enemies of both the Burning Legion and Naaru; - The story takes a step from standard fantasy cliches, to unexpected plot twists, slightly more mature content (it doesn't refer to anything breaching PG-13 rating limit, however) and overall darker atmosphere; - Plot is approved by Warcraft lore specialists and has no contradictions to Blizzard canon. Gameplay - Various missions have various gameplay style, ranging from typical B&D to heavily triggered special events; - Four playable new races are available both in campaign and multiplayer (Orcish Horde, Ironforge Alliance, Quel'Thalas and Aether Cult); - Two more races are playable in the campaign (Stygians and Burning Legion), as well as various sub-races such as Dogs of Wars, Red Dragonflight, and more; - Many new units resemble ones from good old Wacraft I/II: Death Knight, Warlock, Cleric, Dragon Rider and many more, but there's a great number of brand new ones as well; - Completely reworked balance, introducing a variety of new tactics. Technical work: - Each race has a unique visual style; - Every single new unit has a new model, including many custom ones made from scratch; - Most units have new voices too; - Hundreds of new doodads; - Overall level of graphics is higher than in original Warcraft III, with increased polycount and better quality textures (but still fitting into the limits of Warcraft III engine) - HoS features exclusive model work from grand masters such as Jigrael and Stuffkikker. Progress: As of 11th February, 2007: Story/characters: 100% Maps (terrain): 85% Maps (triggers): 10% Races concept: 99% Models: 90% Unit data: 85% Music: 90% Sounds/voicing: 70% Open beta release scheduled on spring '2007.
