They raced to the base and as the base came within sight they saw two abominations that were like large aqua coloured serpents that were armed with large pieces of rumble in there hands. “Attack!!!” the general screamed in panic. “More of them. . . . Let’s kill these ones too,” One Serpent said to the other. The 15th infantry opened fire but the bullets were being deflected like they were nothing. “GET DOWN!!!” a 2nd lieutenant Paulmer cried out as he lobbed a grenade at the serpents. There was for but a moment, a silence on the battle field as the 15th infantry thought they had won. “For Tel’Ganis,” one of the serpents screeched as he impaled of the Private Jenkins with his spear. As the corpse of Private Jenkins hung off the end of the serpents spear the General sprung up and dashed towards it. The general reached for his back pocket and took out his combat knife he then leaped over the spear that the serpent had furiously swung at him and propelled his knife into its throat. The blood smothered the General as the outmatched creature dropped to the ground while letting out an ear piecing screech. The 15th infantry looked around two see two dead massive serpents. The general climbed on top of the 7 foot creature and with a deep proud voice said “Rally men.” The marines rallied at the general’s feet awaiting the victory speech they so surely deserved. “Ok men, good job you stood your ground and did not let up in that face of your adversaries. That is the strength and bravery that has earned the 15th infantry the reputation it deserves. Now we mustn’t let these vile monstrosities inhabit our peaceful Australian soil. We must push forward and eliminate them.” And with that the 15th infantry advanced on Fort Cardion very cautiously. The 15th infantry using there stealth techniques hid from sight so they could evaluate there situation further.1st lieutenant Kelom had snuck in to the partially burnt Newman’s Inn. He got out his binoculars and saw a 5 Serpents but one looked different from the others he was smaller and bluer. Lieutenant Kelom Jolted toward the large broken window at the back and leaped out onto a tree. He jumped down and stealthily went back to inform General McCarb of his discoveries. “General there is a serpent that looked different from the other he was smaller and bluer. He was surrounded by four other Serpents” Kelom reported. “Ok that might be there leader in any case we must eliminate him,” Stated the General. “Kelom, do you think you can get a clear shot of him?” “Yes Sir.” “Ok then get in position but make sure to aim for his eye as we found out before there skin is like metal and don’t fire until my word” “Sir Yes, Sir.” “Now soldiers get in a position to cover Kelom if he dies we’re probably next.” The marines surrounded the creature and took aim. “Everyone in position” McCarb asked “Yes sir,” the marines responded “Fire,” the General ordered. Kelom took the first shot and hit the blue creature in the eye. As the creature Plummeted to the ground, the rest of the 15th Infantry opened fire upon the remainder of the creatures. After two minutes of non-stop firing the general ordered the marines to hold fire. As the dust cleared three of the serpents still stood there in a fit of rage the blue serpent charged at Kelom. “FIRE!!” the General Ordered. The battle raged on with the persistent barrage of bullets keeping the abominations at bay. The team sniper, James Berren shot 3 more carefully aimed bullets into the Blue serpent’s eye. The creature fell but did not die, he just laid there blinded. “Good job, let’s gather up these creatures bodies and call for evacuation to Townsville military base,” The general declared. At that moment the blue serpent’s body evaporated into the sky. The men rushed to gather the other serpent body to try and insure that the other would not disappear but to there dismay they say the dead evaporate as well. ”SHIT!!” The general screamed in a disappointed way. “We lost our proof. Harlen call for evac.” “Yes sir. Townsville, this is the 15th here we need evacuation from Fort Cardion immediately over” Major Harlen requested “15th this is Townsville we lost contact with Fort Cardion 6 hours ago what’s the situation, over” “The base has been completely demolished. Hostiles were encountered but were neutralized, over” “Who were the attackers? Over” “They were of unknown origin and race, over” “Do you have a body? Over” “No, they vaporized, over” “Ok evac is on its way ETA 15 minutes, over” “Roger that, over” “What’s wrong sir?” enquired Kelom “The second Serpent that we killed said something about Tel’Ganis; I wonder what Tel’Ganis has to do with this” Said McCarb “Isn’t Tel’Ganis the Commander of Fort Cardion?” asked Private Bachetti “Yes he is and good going on your first mission Bachetti” “Thank you sir” “Rally at the barracks” the general ordered at the helicopters roared over head. The dust was kicked up at the marines as the mountainous transport helicopters landed. When the helicopter had landed marines started jumping out to execute a lockdown of the vicinity. General McCarb walked up to the pilot and Asked Demandingly “Could you take this helicopter over to Private Jenkins so that we may take his body and give it a proper funeral?” The 15th Infantry Division piled into the helicopters with there fallen comrade for there ride back to Townsville. “Taking off” the pilot stated as he started the ascent. “Sir, now that the Fort is under complete quarantine and we are on our way to Townsville. Would this be the right time to ask what Tel’Ganis had to do with this?” Asked Lieutenant Percival. “Hmmm. I don’t know but I wanna how those monsters knew him. We will contact Field Marshal McKeown and see if they have appeared anywhere else,” the General responded. Chapter 2: Recreation As helicopter finally touched down on the Townsville helipad, Base Commander Dixon awaited. “General,” Dixon said. “Commander,” the general replied. “Thanks pilot. Get out men,” the General commanded. “General I want a very detailed explanation of what the hell happed at Fort Cardion,” Dixon ordered. “Yes sir.” “Your men can rest in bunk A351 but you are to come with me.” “Yes sir. Men go get some rest. Sir, where are we going?” “You’re coming to give me that explanation.” The General and Base Commander Dixon walked to Dixon’s office. “Take a seat General,” Offered Dixon. “Now what happened?” “We were returning after the monthly check of the area surrounding Fort Cardion when we saw smoke rising out of the bush around the Fort. We raced to the fort but were too late these serpents were stand out front. We disposed of them but at the expense of Private Jenkins. We scouted the following area and found 5 more and one that looked to be there leader. We took up some positions and assaulted them with everything we had. We went to gather the dead when they seemed to evaporate. Then we called for you.” “Any Idea what the hell they were?” “No idea but they weren’t friendly. Ohhhh and they said something about Tel’Ganis too.” “Tel’Ganis he disappeared sometime ago. Around 6 months ago. What could he have to do with this?” Dixon Wondered. “Sir may I call Field Marshall McKeown?” “Why?” “I would like to ask if there have been any more occurrences of serpent like creatures or if any contact has been lost with any bases.” “Good thinking General.” The general got up out of his seat and lent over Dixon’s desk to pick up the phone. He dialed Canberra office of defense. “Hello, Canberra office of defense, Kelly Speaking” Said the receptionist “This is General McCarb I need to talk to Field Marshal McKeown” demanded the General “Hold on a second in transferring you now” “Thank you Kelly” “Hello Field Marshal McKeown here” “Field Marshal this is General McCarb. I need to know if there have been any bases attacked; contact lost with bases or any sightings or serpent creatures” “Ahh no but the town of Belsom has been sending out repeated SOS signals, I have dispatched 2 units there already you welcome to investigate as well if you wish.” “Yes sir. I’ll leave tomorrow at dawn. Thank you Field Marshal.” “No Problem General and good luck with your investigation.” The general hung up with phone, looked at Dixon and said “we leave tomorrow for Belsom. I want my men to get a good night sleep so I’m keeping them on premises.” “Ill tell the guards not to let them off.” “Thank you, sir.” After that the general left Dixon’s office to inform them of what is going to be there next form of action. “Attention!!” screamed the General. The marines gathered in an organized formation in front of the General. “Ok men, we leave for the island of Belsom tomorrow at dawn,” The general informed the marines. “I want you all to have a good nights rest because Belsom has been attacked and it could possibly be the same creature we had to deal with today. Am I understood?” “Yes sir.” All the 15th infantry had the dinner and went to be for they knew that if it was in fact the serpent creature that attacked Belsom they had one hell of a fight ahead of them. “Awaken!!” the General Shrieked. The marines rose like zombies out of there eternal tomb. They looked like death himself but still with only a cup of coffee prepared for there next operation. They gathered at the helipad and awaited the lift. “Glad to see you’re all awake,” the General said with a smirk. “I thought since we’re going into a battlefield we would go in with some cavalry.” The 3 transports flew overhead quickly followed by 5 apaches. “Percival, Kelom, Berren, Bachetti and Paulmer get in that one,” he said while pointing at the transport on the far left. “Yes sir.” “Harlen, Bronston, Jacobs, Swift and Brennen Get in that one,” He ordered while pointing at the middle Transport. “Yes sir.” “Smith, Norton, McClintock, Casey and I will go in the last one.” The strapped themselves in. At this point in time the adrenaline pumping through there bodies had them fearless. Belsom is situated about 20 minutes east of Townsville. Chapter 3: Invigoration The Island came in sight and all that could be seen was smoke and the retched smell of death loomed in the atmosphere. The marines continued disheartened. The apaches fired 1 hellfire missile each and whipped a small group of serpent off the face of the earth but that would be only the beginning. They dropped the ropes and started descending. Serpents started appearing out of nowhere but were ripped asunder by the Apaches Twin Link Gatling Guns. The entire 15th infantry had now dropped down and the transport making there way back to base. “MY PROPELLORS HAVE STOPPED ENTIRELY. I’M DOWN!!” The Apache pilot screamed as the Apache spun out of control. “Shit. Men get ready these helicopters have to return now” The general shouted as he signaled the helicopters to retreat. As the helicopters started turning around another spun out of control crashing into a civilian building. The battle was fierce with wave after wave of serpent creatures’ faces being caved in by a barrage of bullets. “That’s it men aim for the face” The general encouraged. “Grenade barrage!!” the general ordered as he reached for his plasma grenade. The marine all threw a grenade each make holes and ditches in the once beautiful island. “Retreat” hissed a serpent that looked like the one that escaped earlier. “That was him sir, we have to get him” Swift said optimistically. “No it wasn’t he had both his eyes he mustn’t have been the leader,” The general said in a confused manner. “But we must push on regardless of our confusion; every waiting second could bring attack.” The marines cautiously pushed on expecting everything and anything. They entered some bushes and slowly emerged to find the streets littered with blood, death and the decaying bodies of the island former inhabitants. They general pointed at Percival, Berren, Swift, Smith and McClintock then toward the building to the right of them signaling for them members to secure the building to try to deter a flank. The marine nodded in agreement then continued into the building. The general and the men following him went to the building on the right. Percival went up the stairs of the building to find a deceased man with an ornamental type sword sticking him to the wall through his throat. His shirt had been ripped open and on his chest carved in “The death of our unevolved ancestors can only mean the advance of our superior species. “ “What the fuck?” whispered Percival with a baffled look on his face? “Guys come here” He screams in discomfort. The other men assigned to this building ran up the stairs and looked as bewildered as Percival did at the sight of this unusual message. Percival bolted out of the building and into the next as he ascended up the stairs he heard an explosion, he ran back down the stairs to see that the room where the body was found was indeed a trap. He sprinted into the other building to check for survivors, to his liberation he found that Swift, Smith and McClintock survived the blast but Berren was more ill-fated. Percival grabbed out his radio. “We need a rescue chopper immediately,” Percival radioed back to Townsville. “One is on the way,” the man on the other end of the line replied. “Hey Percival” Swift said as he got up and brushed himself off “Swift” He replied in shock “I’m ok too” Smith said while wiping the blood of his lip “Jog on the spot” Percival ordered. Swift and Smith followed the order and did so beautifully. “Well you’se seem to be in good enough shape. Help me get thee two guys to the extraction point.” All three of them carried McClintock and the deceased Berren out of the Building to find the other group guarding the entrance. The three marine were escorted back to the extraction point by the rest of the squad. “Smith what happened?” asked the general. “Well we were standing there inspecting a body we found, it had a note that said “The death of our unevolved ancestors can only mean the advance of our superior species.” But anyway the light appeared that was emanating out of the guys mouth. It grew stronger and stronger, we started walking out of the room when an explosion went off that came from the light in his mouth,” recalled Smith. “A trap. I guess we shouldn’t take our enemies for fools they are smarter than we first thought but I wonder what they meant by that note? And I still wonder what Tel’Ganis has to do with this?” said the General. At this point the helicopter had come in sight and was almost landed. It lowered it self down and landed. ”Put the in and secure them” the General ordered. Without hesitation the men quickly grabbed the men and strapped them into the helicopter. The General gave the signal and the helicopter took of in a heartbeat. “Move on men and don’t go near anything suspicious our enemies and highly intelligent and increasingly dangerous” the general informed his men. They worked there way back to the buildings. Sticking to the walls and hiding between building they slowly made there way to the town centre. 2 serpents were spotted on the streets but were quickly disposed of using a grenade. &(+,34JclnÝÞó ˆ Í æ ï ð V W ¯ Ó Ô ß á ( ) 6 Z [ a x ž   ° ± ò õ # $ 1 D Þ æ - 6 R \ e üôüðçáçáçüÝÙÝÑÝÙÝÍÝÍüÍÙÉÍÝÍÁÍÙÍÙÍÙ¹ÙÍÙ͵±Ù±©±Ù±Ù±Ù±Í±Ù±Ù±Ù±¥±¥¡høoVhaVPh*B¼h*B¼H*h*B¼hÅ1Úhùa~hùa~H*hEQŸhEQŸH*h´:hEQŸhÆ…hÆ…H*hùa~hÆ… h:D0Jh:Dh:D0Jh:DhaMÿhaMÿH*haMÿ?34W $ ÂQ\äôš¼(¢f…²Íè(KÇIY÷òòðððððððððððððððððððððððððgd:D$a$gdaMÿ§Dýe Ì Ó Õ pƒZ\ceŠWYÁÃ!$*=]^mqwúû -.5†°±²ÁÂÃPQw›£¤»¼ÁØTVøRSåëìké¿ÆÇåèüøðøüìüèüàüèüèØèØèØèøèøèøèÔÐèÐèøèÐøÐøÐèÐÌèÐÈÐìÐìÐìÐìøìÀìø¼ø¼¸¼¸ø¸´¸´°hbÇh!SþhGk¬hé>²hùa~hùa~H*h*B¼høoVhaMÿh´:h`R“h`R“H*haVPhaVPH*h`R“hùa~hÅ1ÚhÅ1ÚH*hÅ1ÚhaVPEè'(<=LNx¡¢¥§&(Çp?FY{|$ % 1 ; = ?
