I only have 3ds Max v3.1. Isn't there any way to make the script work with it, cause it's an awful lot of money to go and buy v5?

I am a Games Design Student, and is currently planning to work on a Warcraft3 Mod as my school project.

Me and my team have tried importing models into the game, but still have a lot of doubts about the animation part.

Is there anywhere I can get a good tutorial?
(I have read through this thread though, but not very clear, information is spread all over)

i am talking about exporting my models with animations from 3ds max 5 into the game.

The stuff i know:
-confirm can have own custom model, with textures in the game

The stuff i not clear:
-can my own animation work properly in the game?
-the specific animation frame numbers for the different parts,(e.g for attack is frame 4200 to 5700.....etc)

hi,
i have a little problem with the exporter (?)
Everytime i export a model in w3 its works perfect (animations, model...) but the textures are completly wrong.
Is this a problem of the exporter or am i doing something wrong ?

I'm usind the UNwarper UVW modifier in Max 5.0, in 3DSMax the texture is shown correctly but ingame the textures are completly at the wrong faces.
Please tell me if this is not a problem of this exporter, so i'm wrong in this thread :D

thanks... !

In its' credit it says "HAVOK" and as we all know Havok is the owner of Blizzard and Sierra and a couple of others.

Um no. Havok is a physics engine, like how Karma is. You can see it used in the latest 3DMark (http://www.futuremark.com/) and in games, such as the upcoming Deus Ex 2.

I have a question with this script, you mention in the readme about using helpers. Do you mean dummy objects?
Or IK solvers?
Are IK solvers supported in WC3 at all?

Also with the bone, I got a mixed message from all the messages here, are they to be part of one chain or each a seperate bone on it's own?

Lastly, when exporting anims how exactly do you decide which section of your keyframes are which animations, e.g. choosing frames 1-100 for walk, 102-200 for fight, etc.
