I'm not sure how you're going to take this, but for $20 bucks (perhaps less), someone can own, and play FF7 on their computer, with less system requirements than WC3... I just think, that with a team as ambitious as this, perhaps you would be putting better time elsewhere? Surely, making you're own Final Fantasy would be more widely accepted (no complaining that you skipped a village here, or missed a monster in this area), plus, you could focus on bringing your own concepts to life. Maybe even a prequel to FF7, where you control Cloud while he was in Soldier, learning more about Sephiroth's dark path.... Just some ideas... Please view it with an open mind. :foot: |

I can see your point but making the game for me has been fun just by trying to figure out ways to run this or do that is very challenging---so to me it's no waste of time. After I do complete this game, I was going to plan out other features after it such as a lil prequel like you stated before. I was planning to make this game not just like FF7 but with tons of more content to it. More spells, skills, materias, weapons, armors, items, more everything! For now, I'm just breaking down FF7 in a nutshell so that I can later on make it more better. But HarlequinKnight you do have your point I give you that, it's just that I haven't put these ideas into the map yet. I'm going to give what FF7 hardcore fans want or what I want that could come out of FF7(the greatest RPG ever!) the game. Thanks for your feedback. I will continue this project till I die. |

Heh, well, I hope it come sout before you die, then.... lol I would be anxious to see what we "hardcore" fans want to see... Good Luck :foot: |

I just finished playing through your demo and I think this project has allot of potential. But before I give you props for this demo I have a few questions and/or comments: 1. Why doesn't the comp attack in the battles. Is this bug or did u disable this for the demo so we can get a feel of the game your planning. 2. I cannot get barret to attack like cloud. Instead i can just use his limit break by typing "bl". Anotherwods no menu pops up for barret. Bug? Disabled? Not Finished? 3. No music in the battle sequences just when your walking around, and after you defeat the comp. Bug? Disabled? Not Finished? 4. And i cannot get past the doors where Biggs and Jessie stand facing away from you, where you are very close to the chest that says NPCs on it. I was able to break down that door but im figuring i didnt trigger the right triggers to make them talk. THey will not respond to thousands of clicks( believe me i've tried). PLease explain if this is the end of demo or i just missed something. Comments: 1. The Ifrit summon is really nice, actions match the real ff7 one. Skins would make this absolutely perfect but not neccassary. 2. Limit breaks are good, i just hope that clouds skin(or whatever Proudcloud makes) makes cloud's limit look better. The present unit representing cloud makes a bad looking slash at the end of the attack. 3. The menu's used in battle are brilliant and the best turn based system I have seen in a mod of any sort. continued in next post |

Im not going to mention any more on the demo as im sure your well aware of its many bugs. But I do want to give you props for making a very nice looking demo. I just hope that it doesnt just stay a demo and you finish what you started. I was so impressed by your demo that I decided to post for the first time, i never posted before on any gaming forum and trust me i visit a lot, so yes I think you did a great job. I was really impressed by the accuracy of the story and gameplay thus far. I think everything so far is accurate although I haven't played ff7 in quite some time. But your work so far is great. I thank you for this demo as it really does capture (for the first time i might add) the greatness of ff7 in a warcraft 3 map. All the maps, whether complete or not, have not done nothing close to what this demo has done. I just hope that if your serious about this project you realize how much more time this will take if you plan on doing this with just the few people you have thus far. I hope that you get a good team and a dedicated team and actually finish up to the end of Midgar. Which would be an accomplishment in itself because there is so much story in just Midgar. I say only to Midgar because I doubt you will get further than that because it will take you to long and most projects dont last very long. I hope my predictions are wrong and I wish you the best of luck with the project, I will be reading up on it. ANd if you upload another version I will be posting comments on it. |

dood! you posted twice! o well, but anyway, note that that demo was an old old old ancient old demo and with that in mind--- here are answers to your questions.... 1. First off, the enemies did have the ability to attack, but it was a complete simple way of doing it so I had to redo the whole attack triggers for them. As of right now(for the next demo), all my enemies can attack from either one or more ways. They all have differnt attacks from regular attacking(duh), magics, and unique boss attacks. 2. Not finished, it's diffcult to have two player trigger when I'm making the battle system. For now, it's just one player active and maybe it will stay like that until next demo. 3. At the time, yes, it wasn't finished but all the music and sounds are working properly now. 4. Yes, you're prolly looking at the end of the demo. I didn't want anyone to go any further. Ya, this game is unique in a way and does stand off from others but thats what I've been trying to do I guess. The demo wasn't too nice, it was kind of jumbled up and put out all of sudden because I didn't take my time. I am serious about this project, and your posts are keeping me motivated to keep this thing going. The next demo will be more spectalur then the first and you will go further in the demo. And again thank you. I think I will try to get a screener of my next demo soon, you'll see whats going on! |

this place is really disorganized. woulnt it be smart if you guys got hosting from wc3c or to speed up,get more staff? |
| 10-20-2003, 05:50 AM | #175 |
i don't think it's disorganized. yes we will get hosting from wc3c when next demo is out, so thats going to be soon. more staff, i don't think there is anyone out there that would meet my expections for another staff member. the staff member would have to be a really good triggerer, like me:P, if you were wondering. so i don't think you have to worry so much, you're soooo thoughtfull and loving... i needed that ![]() |

if i remem right, in the beginning you said this would be a 3 player map, but how will that work? as extensive as the ff7 game is, that would be like 40 hr of game play probobly, if not more. im wondering a few things, is there a chance you can make it 1 player possibility like if there is no player 2, make these triggers commandable by p1, and also, how many maps are you guessing it will take? like 20? or more? also, i have one suggestion, talk to darky26 from return of the dragon campaign, hes done a few things that might help like having multiple terrain types in the same map, so like inside dungeon tileset and frozen tileset at same time, might help |

its a singleplayer game, with 3 heroes at max in control, NOT a multiplayer game with 3 players, just to clear that up |
| 10-21-2003, 03:57 AM | #178 |
ok good cause i was a lil worried, i mainly thought it was because the first beta post said it was singleplayer version and that it was protected =) |

First beta was protected? Strange.. I opened mine before I played it :bgrun: |
