I strongly suggest careful thinking when deciding on the character of the Murlocs. Fearsome warriors who command vast kingdoms do not make me think of Murlocs. Understand that the way in which Murlocs are spoken of, how one describes their culture and their ways, shapes the very nature of the Murlocs themselves.
Do you want to tell a story of vast kingdoms and rulers on high thrones? Then I bid you tell stories of men, or of elves, for I feel Murlocs would not fit the tale well.
To me, Murlocs have always seemed like a young race. They know little of the working of steel and metals, and the skills of farming and agriculture seem unknown to them. To me they seem like hunters and gatherers, akin to ancient cavemen, predecessors of man.
Also, when I think of names of Murlocs, I think of simple words. LongFins, GreenScale, MudLegs, FrogHands, PuddleJumper, MottleBelly, and so forth. |
