This thing's still going?

I still want in on this, but the Keuori are a complicated race at times. *sigh*

Is there a certain amount of races you are having, and has that limit been reached if there is? And where's this map everyone's talking about? Isle of Wyrms? Rolling Plains? Where?

I bet I sound whiney.

Saboera's call (or icbm's) on whether you're in or not. And the map is in a link in Beam's last post on the previous page.

I don't care if you do it quickly...

This project died for a while and I'd like to see it speed up a bit.

I'll do some more concept stuff for the Chzk'norr soon.

These creatures have only ever made it onto the WoW forums through the "build your own empire" RP. Time to unleash the Keuori on the world.

The Keuori (pronounced kee-oo-or-ee)

Population
Workers All of the population have a job to do. Whether it be building, trading, travelling, gathering, hunting... Every Keuori works. Even The Council and Queen have things to do. Not necessarily menial tasks like normal Keuori, but diplomacy. The Keuori are always looking for more allies or trading partners. The Keuori once befriended a Gnome-like race, but the were wiped out by mad men that lived in the mountains, and riveted iron to their bodies.
Army 20%. Almost every Keuori will fight if it comes to war, making 90% in wartime. Most of the Military is made up of the Beetle-Keuori, used as a heavy infantry type of beast, and the Spider-Keuori, agile assassin types. When not under attack, even the military have jobs to do. Spider-Keuori generally do hunting, sometimes assisted by Beetle-Keuori. Spider-Keuori also help with gathering by spinning their webs to make platforms in the trees. Beetle-Keuori make excellent heavy load lifters and lumberjacks.
Elementalists 10%. Keuori have not much of a knack for magic, but when they do get a connection with magic, it styas, and they are thought to be powerful warriors indeed. These Keuori then tend t specialise in spells of a certain element, usually Earth, due to their strong connection with this element, however, some will take on different elements, including lesser elements like Light, or even take on one of the hardest elements to harness. Spirit.
Heroes Council and Queen. 6 Members. Council of five that help the Queen make her descisions. Two Young Keuori and three Elder Keuori are the Council, so they have a widespread view to see all possibilities. Amarisk, the Keuori Queen, Kelos and Thressar, the Young Keuori of the Council, and Vrash (pronounced Frash), Ghyreyn (pronounced guy-rain), and Hyrash, the Elders of the Council.

Look
The Keuori are insectoids. Don't immediately think nerubians, because they are not. The normal Keuori is similar in appearance to a mantis. It stands on it's hind legs, and has four arms. The upper pair are normal hands, while the lower two, are mantis-like scythe arms. They have a mouth, but it is not visible, however they have a large pair of mandibles.

Characteristics
The Keuori mutate. They can mutate into various insectoid forms, the most common mutations are the Spider-Keuori, and the Beetle-Keuori.

Pros
Mutation allows them to gain new strengths.
Regular, or Mantis-Keuori, are capable of limited flight. Other mutations, such as Fly-Keuori, allow for prolonged flight.
Spider-Keuori have special irritating hairs that can blind an enemy for short amounts of time.
All Keuori have a defensive sticky saliva, which is stronger than any glue, and never dries, making it very dificult for an enemy to get free.
Night vision.

Cons
Mutation allows them to gain new weaknesses.
Inability to speak most languages.
Far too trusting of new races they meet.
lack of actual technology. Their bodies can mutate to suit some of their needs, but they need technology sooner or later.

Culture-Society
Attitudes
The Keuori are generally a warm and welcoming race to those they have not met, and are even kinder to their allies. Military Keuori have slightly more anti-social behaviour, but are better than army personnel of most races.

Laws
They do not really have any laws. They do not need them. Throughout the history of the Keuori, there has never been betrayal, murder, or any kind of what would be considered as law breaking in other cultures.

God(s)
The Keuori believe in the Gods of the elements. They believe that Runakath acts as ruler over the gods and goddesses of the other elements, as they get almost everything from the Earth. they also believe in minor elemental deities, such as light, darkness, Ice, etc.
The Five main Gods/Goddesses are:
Amaseth - Goddess of Air
Kurakahn - Goddes of Fire
Runakath - God of earth
Hemnesar - God of Water
Surunet - God of Spirit

Overal religion Description
The Keuori do not worship their Gods as such, but praise and respect them. They thank them for a good harvest, or protection from enemies, etc. and present offerings to suit their element. Each Keuori family keeps a small elemental shrine in their home.

Environnement
The Keuori tend to live in forest where the trees are gigantic. They lived in one of these once, but were forced out after they were discovered to be allied with the Arcane and the Scythi. It is difficult for them to make their homes witout the giant leaves, but they somehow try and manage. (Why are there none of these on the map!?)

Buildings Look
The normal Keuori buildings are made from a wooden frame with giant leaves held together with their saliva. Of course, some need to be more durable, such as towers and pens for their animals, So they make these of wood and chitin from their dead.

How's that for a profile...?

Trees aren't on the map yet, so I just picked a spot and said it was heavily forested. You might want to do the same.

Anyways, here's a little mythology from the Kobran standpoint.

KOBRAN MYTHOLOGY
The Start of Eternity
It is not known if there was a beginning - those who came before us do not know, as do those who came before them, and the first who came will not tell us of a beginning. But it is known that there was a beginning of the world.
Long ago, the Sky was dominant, and all other forces were scattered across the Eternity. All forces fought each other under the Sky's supervision, and Chaos was born into the Eternity, and grew powerful from the aggression and war.
Eventually, as was destiny to happen, a portion of Stone encountered another portion of Stone, and did not attack. It thought, here is one who is as I am. If we join together, our power will be twofold, and we will destroy our enemies. And so did they join, and become twice as powerful as their foes, and whenever they found more of their kin, they would join and become even more powerful. Soon Stone was as mighty as the Sky, and the other forces grew envious and gather together as well. However, as Fire gathered, Ice was born, and gained strength from the lands that fire did not touch. And as Light gathered, Dark was born, and gained strength from the lands that Light did not touch. And as the forces of the Eternity gathered, Order was born, drawing strength from the unity of each element, and Chaos began to shrivel and weaken.
At first, things remained calm, as each newly empowered element sought to understand the strength of the other forces. Then there was war again, greater than ever, as each force sought to become Lord of the Eternity. Thus did Chaos grow strong again, but Order did not weaken, drawng strength still from the unity and alliances of the forces.
The War of Eternity lasted millenia, and had many battles, but we know only of how it ended for us, how it created the Earth to feed us, the Sun to protect us, and the Moon to destroy us.
The Creation of the Earth
As the forces of Eternity fought, bits of each force were broken and scattered, for no force could be destroyed, only spread out to weaken it. In the place where our Earth now exists, a great battle occured, leaving portions of every force scattered in the area.
As quickly as they were able, the bits of force that remained tried to regather, but they became confused. Portions of Fire, Sky, and Light formed together and became the Sun. Portions of Ice, Stone, and Darkness gathered to create the Moon. Caught between the Sun and Moon, bits of Stone, Sky, and Water gathered together to create the Earth. And through it all, a little bit of every force connected together to create something that cannot been seen or touched - Life. Life came into contact with every force, and the first Gods came into being, beings of great power beyond the imagination of we mortals.

EDIT: Hang on, I'll fix the races.

A quick Update of what the map should looks like

Zoom (requires log in)

Edit: ok so i designed a creature of the wastelands, basically they are some kind of ball with an eye, miniature tentacles, they are like parasite, they replace heads of fallen warriors, tentacles allow the Makiri to enter and use the nervous system of the body it pocess, once in place the body start to mutate in a random form, they are pretty dangerous considering they are intelligent creatures... i will post it with only the creature anatomy, this one possessed one of my people dead soldier which bring this result at half mutation

Gitlich
ive read the first post and im fairly sure i understand this, but considering its its clear popularity, it wouldnt supprise me if this is now closed to anyone who wishes to enter a new race. so is it still possable to add to this? and if it is, would i be alowed to have a city state with more than one race that inhabits it?

(the reason i ask is ive been pondering over the idea of a multiculteral civilisation, on which i can play around with the culteral and class boundries. meaning some species would be under scocial and political repression, so i could then incorperate divercity in architecture into the concept art. rangeing from slums to upper class areas and scocial elitest group that live within an enclosed area)

I think they'll (icbm/Saboera) let you in, though I've not the authority to say such. Don't forget to use Saboera's template for submission.

Gitlich, you can join.

And I have no problems with the map... my people live on "The Mountain." and I doubt that will change.

Gitlich, just remember that you will have to work out the issues/social structure of the multi-species society with the person who's race you wish to give a position on the social ladder.
