In version 2.3, I have changed the way the light is managed, and I have forgotten to change the way the shadows are computed... It'll be fixed in the next version. |

This is peculiar. For some reason, your program suddenly stopped working for me. It just doesn't display anything anymore, I used it just last night and when I try to open anything now, be it a custom mdx or blp or just something I browse to in wc3.mpq, nothing happens, the main windows is just white and empty. I click a blp file in the mpq tree view and nothing happens. I've tried reinstalling with the newest version and I've tried scourging the registry but nothing seems to have any effect. Any idea how this happened and how I could fix it? |

First, try to delete the registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TheProphet\MDX Viewer", and launch the W3V. Second, try to change the zBuffer depth (Render -> zBuffer depth). ... |

The prophet your thing doesn't support the Arthas vs illidan model...sorry if it was mentioned earlier but I'm not bothering to read a 25+ post thread... |

Yes, it had already been mentionned before :) I know where the problem comes from, and one day I'll take some time to fix it... |

I already tried deleting the registry, didn't help. Quote:
Whenever I go Render -> zBugger depth -> 16 bit OR 24 bit the program closes. I downloaded the debug version you posted a few versions up and tried again. Choosing 16 or 24 bit still makes the program close without warning. Here's the resulting log file: Quote:
It doesn't seem to be giving any interesting information, though. |

It is totally normal that the program quits when you change the zBuffer Depth. It is changed the next time the program is restarted. I have exactly the same log for me when I load the same file... Have you changed your graphic card recently? Have you changed your graphic card drivers ? Have you decreased the light of the graphical applications ? ... |

You might want to tell the user that :) Like, make a window pop up and say "The program will now restart" etc. This problem appeared overnight and I didn't change any drivers or anything like that. I'm not sure what you mean with "decreasing the light of the graphical applications".. I did, however, find out that the program works, somewhat, if I disable all hardware acceleration (should have tried that first of all I guess), so I guess the problem is with my drivers or something. Still, it's damn strange and frustrating that it suddenly decided not to work anymore. |

Sorry if this was mentioned. Will wc3 viewer ever have a model converter? Like mdx -> mdl and mdl -> mdx? |
| 02-02-2004, 09:07 PM | #220 |
That would be very nifty. :D |
| 02-02-2004, 09:32 PM | #221 |
It could have a mdl/mdx converter : I could let the user choose the path to Nub's MDX<->MDL converter... |

Please add this feature! :D Nubs converter is so damn buggy. I get all these errors and junk. |

Hello! I like the program and it runs very smoothly on my comp. But i was mostly interested in getting some nice pictures of Dwarfs doing cool stuff. But to my horror the Mountain King is totally bugged. In the normal view he is gray and has got two weapons and a strange blade by his head. And if you animate him he turns into a glowing ball!! .jpg:s of the bug:s included. Please tell me if a am doing something wrong, but it is only on the MK i have found this problem. /Markus "Lord LAKE" |

The second .jpg. The animated MK- or whatever it is! :mtk: /LAKE |

@lake : Hello; the problem you explain here has already been reported many times, and I had forgotten it because the last time someone reported me it, I had no idea about how to solve it. But now that you remind me the problem, I remember that I had found a solution : I have changed the way the "hidden geometry" works, so I have fixed it now, and you'll be able to export your animations in the newxt version. In the next version, you'll just have to load the model, and select "Hidden geometry" in the "Render" menu, and disable the particle emitters in the render menu too. You say that [he] "has got two weapons and a strange blade by his head" : you just have to uncheck the meshes you don't want to display, in the treeview dialog, under the "speed" selector. |
