It wasn't so much that you were active at night, Arching Blades, then that you have gone out by yourself to fight a character not really played by anyone. It just kind of leaves us out of it . . . unless Varall, the only one who hasn't fallen asleep, becomes concerned and goes looking for her (nudges Count Carigon).

Well, how about a little dream sequence to tide things over?

Thenaius knelt before the body of his master, tear-streaked eyes searching for something, anything, to prove that Rensus Taskseer was alive. But the fallen mage didn't move, didn't breathe, didn't close his eyes. Thenaius was alone, an elven child lost in the wilds of Lordaeron. And the orcs were coming.
A rustle from the bushes - something had found him! The young elf quietly darted into a nearby bush, praying to the light for his safety. He heard voices.
"You were right, Quiroff he did come this way. It seems he didn't get any farther, however. What do you suppose he died of?"
There was some rustling. "From the look of things, paladin, I'd say he fell and broke his neck. Do you see the fear on his face? Something was chasing him - and by these tears here along the back, it was something with claws."
"Really? . . . "
"Yes. By the way, do you see these faint tracks? Somebody was was with him . . . somebody whose hiding right . . . here!"
The branches drew back, and an elvish face peered at Thenaius. "Looks like we'll have more than a body to go on, if we can get his apprentice to talk."
"That can wait, Quiroff - look at the scare that's been put into the lad." From behind the ranger, a large man walked up, stylized with the emblem of the Silver Hand. He spoke to Thenaius, "Hello there, little man. Were you . . . with this fellow here?"
Thenaius could only nod - it was too soon to think about.
"Well, boy, it seems you'll have to join up with us now. Don't worry, we won't leave your friend here - he'll see a proper burial back at the camp. Now just come with me -"
He took hold of Thenaius' hand, and somehow it made the elf feel more secure, even though the paladin was a stranger - he just knew, under the watchful eyes of this man, that everything was going to be alright.
A noise came up from behind him, and Thenaius ran behind the paladin, scared for his life. But instead of an orc, a human teen cae jogging into the clearing.
"Ah, there you are, Arethon. Could you lead this poor boy over to the camp while Quiroff and I see to his master?"
But Aneroth ignored the paladin; he simply stared hard at Thenaius, stared with bloodred eyes that seemed to speak. Don't say anything, they spoke to him.
"Ah, but you shoud have said something, Thenaius." Suddenly the paladin's grip was no longer on Thenaius' arm, but his neck, a grip like steel and cold a death. "You should have spoke up, but you didn't. And now I'm coming for you."
With a malicious grin, the paladin squeezed. Thenaius felt himself going lightheaded - he needed air, but the choking grasp denied him that wish. He saw blue, then purple, then all the colors of the rainbow danced before him, swirling and spinning and he was falling, falling into darkness so deep not even life could escape it and -
He awoke.

Arching Blades
Okay... little update:

Firessa stood there a moment. She wanted a respectable battle with the pandaren. Shinzo was getting up, recovering from the bat's attack.
"I will kill you, night elf!"
"Let's see... The other battle was just a try but now it's serious. My honor counts in this battle!"
They were eyeing each other closely, searching for any movement of their enemy. The air was filled with sparks... or so it seemed to Firessa. She suddenly moved, in a semi-circle to the right; Shinzo did the same towards his right.
"Just what are you playing at?" Firessa asked, stopping.
"Just a deadly game, I suppose!" Shinzo jumped to land at Firessa.
Firessa sidestepped, then held her katana at the ready for a strike. The earth shook; the pandaren landed. Swiftly, Firessa slashed diagonally upwards; Shinzo blocked, holding his polearm in a perpendicular diagonal. The slash was followed by a horizontal cut, parried, a stab, blocked. Firessa let her katana fly in the air, flipping it in such a way that it was bound to fall with blade downwards. She crouched, dodging a fast diagonal cut, and tried to tackle Shinzo. It was not enough; Shinzo did not budge from the tackle and the katana fell by her side as Shinzo swept it away with a knock from his polearm.
Firessa rolled backwards, taking her katana back. "Damn I can't find his weakness!" She stood there, watching Shinzo as she had at the beginning. She was slowly getting desperate. She was counting on her friends to come up with a good plan while she was there, fighting...

Defi:
"The night elf dodged every attack Shinjo threw at her. 'You're a fast one, now aren't you....' Every attempt by the ex-warden facing him to break his defense was thwarted. 'Those bats were a pain, but they will not be enough. Look, you're already getting tired. You had best hope your friends come up with a good plan, and get back here soon.' Shinjo kept up his tactic, wearing down the night elf's energy.
The sound of a distant rooster crowing signaled it would be dawn soon. 'It seems, young night elf, that your friends will be too late, and I'm growing tired of this game...' Shinjo let his thoughts wander while he fought. He needed almost no effort or concentration to take down the warrior before him, but he let her live in the hopes of having more fun fighting her friends.
'Your element fades, night elf. Your friends have left you to fight me by yourself. Unfortunately... you cannot be allowed to last any longer!' Shinjo made a mad leap for the night elf. She dodged, as he expected, but she did also something he did not expect.
'Hahahaha! Do you think my only skills as a former warden are what you have seen thus far? You're dumber than you look!'
'What's this!?' Shinjo turned in time to see a net, glowing in an odd shade of purple, collapse around him. A moment later, chains and ropes of all kinds erupted around him. He was constricted, and held, made immoblie. 'I'll hunt you down for this pbstruction of my might. I'll--' He was cut off by a shout from the night elf.
'What's this!? No! No, No, No!! I had him you fools!' She vanished before Shinjo's eyes. A few seconds later, with no mana feeding them, the chains shattered and the net faded. The ropes dissapeared and Shinjo was completely free once more.
'Hmph... you'll pay for that, little night elf. But first....' Shinjo stomped over to the still unconcious goblin. 'Wake up!' He shook him. 'Wake up you stupid green man!'
'Wha-- no... it's not time to go to the mines yet... a few more minutes now...'
'NOW!'
'Wha!! Ack!! Help me!!' The goblin screeched and squirmed, clawing at Shinjo's thickly furred hands.
'Knock that off. I know you've got some way to find them, so you'd better cooperate, or else there'll be two new items in my shop: a goblin's toy, and a goblin 'servant'.' Shinjo could see the fear he wanted. 'Good... now, take me to them...' The goblin removed a round disc from his metallic backpack. 'Start looking over there,' Shinjo pointed, 'And you'd better be right. Start walkin, now.'"

Ok, updates are pretty much free again. So who's goin next?

Anyway, did you guys see my concept?

"It was day, the light was bright for the misfortune of the undead... They went into a dense crown of trees, down in a cliff, and Goerath consumed a Black Skull, turning the nearby green land into a miserable blighted ground, killing all the trees around...
'We shall wait." Said Goerath.
But Therranor couldn't listen, for he fell asleep. Yes, even undead, he fell asleep, but not for rest... his master was calling...
'Therranor!' He heard the voice saying. 'I have a task for you... I shall order Goerath to rally the troops to a secret place, that you will only know after you accomplish my demand, while you will do something extremelly important to me...'
'And what could ever be it, Highness?'
'You shall bring me someone. His name is Iargonel, he is a exceptionally prominent mage, and potential. You shall take him to me, and you SHALL know how to.'
'But.. can I ask you why?' He asked, but no response came.
Then there he was, looking at Goerath's face, back to the defiled crown of trees.
'Goerath...' He started to say, but his fellow stopped him with a gesture.
'I know.' And without saying nothing more, he left, with all the rest of the undead mighty army. The only ones that stayed were a strange type of ghoul and a gargoyle, which was at a nearby tree, camouflaged between the imense group of bats.
'Who... are you?' Therranor asked.
'Hargh. Groshbûl, the Carrion Butcher, at yar shervice.' The ghoul answered, with a disgusting guttural voice.
'And I am Zâw'Goth Nightwing.' Continued the Gargoyle, with a charming voice, that nobody would ever think it came from such a creature. They were obviously champions of their own kind.
'Did the Master allow you two to accompany me?' Asked Therranor, censorious.
'Certainly.' Replied Zâw'Goth. 'We will guide, and support you through your path.'
Therranor confirmed with the head. Though he wasn't quite pleasured of that decision."

I saw him; pretty good, though for some reason I imagined Therranor with a beard.
Well, anyway, it seems that it's time for me to ruin Firessa's morning.

"Here she is, Siroff. Strange, though - I found her back in Raignaton." Thenaius turned to the figure materializing before the trio. "What exactly were you up to, Firessa?"
He was answered with a stiff right hook. "What were you doing? I had him right where I wanted him, and you go and bring me back here?"
Thenaius turned to Siroff, rubbing his jaw. "I think she's upset."
"There's no time for stupid comments, Thenaius." Siroff looked Firessa up and down, assessing her cuts and bruises. "Firessa, why did you go back - alone?"
Firessa, a little shocked that Siroff had seen through her so quickly, stammered out, "I - I had a plan. And it was working . . . before you guys pulled me back here!"
Thenaius backed up - for some reason, he didn't feel like getting punched again.
"You had a plan, huh?" Siroff asked, "It must have been a pretty good one, if you didn't think you needed to bother telling us."
"If I had spoken to you about it, you wouldn't have let me go out after Shinzo!"
"Maybe for a reason." It was Varall, appearing out of nowhere - Thenaius had no idea of when the half-orc had awoken, but it was far before sunrise.
"Maybe," Varall continued, "we would have kept you here, because the plan would not sound so good when spoken aloud."
Firessa's face flushed a deep scarlet, but she persisted, "It was working -"
"And it failed, because you decided not to tell us," Siroff finished. A quiet silence insued.
Thenaius spoke up, "You know, I think we've all realized that this guy isn't going to let a little woods keep us away, right? He's going to come looking for us."
"And he'll find us," Firessa added, "He's taken Gazz prisoner."
Who? Thenaius thought. Aloud, he simply nodded. "We have until noon before our assembled forces in Raignaton depart for the dwarven settlements. That doesn't leave much time for him to find us."
"Ah, but that's the beauty of my plan, wizard - it doesn't take much time at all." Siroff began to go into detail about the plan that would finish Shinzo Stormbrew.

P.S.: Count, if you're here, would you mind posting a little, just to let us know you haven't abandoned the thread?

The Lord
I have somethings to ask.

First, are Firessa, Thenaius, and Siroff shared characters? It's like, you three are freely controlling them...

Second, where the HELL are your characters? I'm COMPLETELY (100%) confused about what, why, and where they freaking are...

Third, can I freely invent locations? Because I am not familiarized with Warcraft's world, mainly because I do not play WoW, and also, I preffer to make things at my own than using pre-made stuff.

Fourty, what are your connections between the undead right now?

Fifty, what is that tournament you are talking about?

Sixty, where did all these pandarens come from?

I would really like these questions answered (with details). If you do, I will not only quit being confused, but I will try to find a way so our destinies are not so parallel as they are now.

Pherexio: Well Lord, I'll answer your questions.

First: Firessa, Thenaius, Gazz, Kar, and Varall are all part of the same adventuring group. Gazz was just an extra creation of mine so he's really just floating anyway (and now that I look, that was one of the names they used for the Tinker in the game). And as memebers of the same group (party) each person who controls a member of said party must be able to have some control over said party members to make the story move freely, as oppose to if each person only posted what their character did.

Second: The party has been magically trasnported to the side of a mountain range about 15-20 kilometres from the tournament grounds (explained below).

Thirdly: Yes, you can. The only locations that really need to be kept exact to warcraft are places like Ice crown, and the Barrens. Cities and the like can be freely invented to make for free story movement (besides, how many of us actually have a detailed map of Lordearon and Kalimdor on our desks?)

Fourth: Right now, our party has rallied an army against a major camp of undead that have attacked a dwarven mining town. Aside from that, the party has destroyed one minor undead encampment (long time ago) and bore witness to the corruption of whatever city your army took over a while back.

Fifth: The tournament (if you had read the rest of the RP) was an annual event held in Ragnatan that our characters had entered. Right now it seems to be about in the finals, so that will most likely conclude soon.

Sixth: There is only one pandaren. He is fairly new, and contrary to popular belief, his name is spelled Shinjo Stormstout (where did you all come up with Shinzo?). This pandaren warrior is a mercenary hired by Tir'Aronos to hunt down the party containing Thenaius, Firessa, and company. So far, that's all we've got on him.

Hope that helped you out a bit (well it should have, it is basically the whole story thus far in a nutshell). I would strongly recommend however, that you take some time to cath up on what you missed in the story. Not only would it help you understand the story and characters a little better, but you may enjoy it! ^_^ Well, that's all for now, sorry I can't update today.
06-11-2004, 03:48 AM#233
The Lord
I thank you a LOT. That really helped. Things are way much clearer now.

Now, I just ask, where is Ragnatan?

I'll update after that.

Arching Blades
Well, Lord, you're surely much out of date! But what can I tell you? In addition to Pherexio's explanation, I'll add this:
First: We can't really let each of us play his character and not control another one. If ever we do that, the RP would have been going at a snail's pace, with only one-two lines posts! So you must understand why we do that. You should understand why I controlled your character earlier(very, very much earlier!). I hope that point's even clearer to you now.
Nothing to add to two and three nor four nor five nor six. Pherexio has explained that very well as far as I know.
And to your last question, I think I have placed it south. At the beginning, Kar and Kol were running south. I joined them and deviated a bit to destroy an undead base. Siroff joined then. We deviated even more towards the night elf base. Then we went further south and reached the Garrison City you captured after. Then we were deviated in a large semi-circle, through that small orc camp(Curse that part!), and into the city of Raignatan. So I'll say that Raignatan is far south east or south west of the Capital of Lordaeron but I'll most likely say the latter because Raignatan is near the mountains(rather near...) and the dwarven city is over there. It is attacked by the Bloodfest Legion(as you described wonderfully) so we'll be heading there next.
All this makes quite a summary of all we've done... Now a little update of the story...

Firessa looked embarassedly at the whole group.
"So I'll explain the plan to you..."
"Wait a minute, Siroff!" Firessa interrupted, "I'd at least like to explain to you my plan." And also to say what can possibly take that damned pandaren out. Only some surprise attacks! But Firessa restrained herself from saying that. She wanted to hear Siroff's plan first.
"Okay, explain yourself, Firessa."
"I wanted to test out his skills further. I wanted to find his weakness by launching attacks even you have never seen before," Firessa felt a pang as she remembered something, "Shit! I didn't take my knives back! Anyway, I think I have found his weakness..."
"And what is it?" They all suddenly looked interested.
"Err... I think I'll wait for you to explain your plan first. All I have to say was that I was well underway towards getting that pandaren tired and injured! I had a lot of my moonwater anyway."
"You seem really angry, Firessa." Thenaius had said that calmly.
"Yeah, thanks to you, elf! You really angered me by bringing me back here!"
"And I've ruined your morning, huh?" Thenaius said on a partly regretful and partly mocking tone.
Firessa lowered her voice, "You've got it right there. But I don't think you know me as much as you could think..."
"I know much more about you than you can think of. I know much more about you than any of the persons here... except yourself."
"How? How could you know that fact? They've been with me longer than you in any case."
"Some people here know how."
"Okay, you two stop fighting. I will explain my plan to you now. And everyone, shut up!" Siroff said in a high-pitched voice.
Firessa and Thenaius stopped their argument. They came closer to Siroff in order to hear of the plan. Firessa tapped Thenaius in the side. She whispered, "I haven't finished with you! Engage the telepathic talk! I wanna say everything I have to say!"
Thenaius did it.
"As you want it. What do you have to say?"
"THAT YOU ARE A..."
"Don't even think about that, you two! Listen to my plan, damn you!"

Firessa had forgotten that Siroff also had some psychic powers too. She laughed internally and smiled as she heard Siroff's voice ring in her ears. Thenaius seemed to be in the same state as she... Siroff finally started talking about his plan.

OOC: That's what you get in return of Firessa's ruined morning, Marco! A cool oral fight scene! :D And Pherexio, I think that Shinjo became Shinzo because of me. I must have misread the name! :D Phew... Never posted something as long as this in a long time! :D

The Lord
"Three human soldiers were walking just aside a small forest of high trees. They had each a figure of a bear holding a lightning bolt on their shields. They were drunk, probably a bit too unworried with the unseen evil outside their cities.
'Whersh't? The road...' Asked one of them.
'Duhno...' Replied another, subsequented by a loud burp.
'What's that?' Exclaimed the third, the less drunk of them, pointing at a stone statue of a demon.'
They all got round it, staring admiredly.
'I'm feeling.... weird' Said one, dropping his bottle. The eyes of the statue were glowing... glowing so seductive, so hypnotising...

Fist, screams, blood. They were all dead on the ground.

Therranor was examining a map while walking. Groshbûl was searching for snakes, to make poison. He had a bag just for the snakes he get; but Therranor could notice some red ones coming out from his ribs.
'Zâw'Goth! Where the holy heaven ("got it?") were you...' Said Therranor, intolerant.
'I was scouting, Ruthless Leader.' replied Zâw'Goth with discretion.'And we are just arriving at Karstorm.' After a small time thinking, he decided:
'We'll have to disguise. We will switch our appearence and make up names for us.'
They ended up being Ronarreth, the Mercenary (Therranor); Luthsor, the rogue (Groshbûl); and Thogaz, the Bard (Zâw'Goth)."

PS: Ronarreth is Therranor at reverse.

We (as in all of us using this acc.) won't be posting for a while. At least a week, maybe more. Sorry 'bout that, but certain issues must be addressed prior to such extra things as this story. As great as it is, gonna hafta say "taking a break" for a while. L8rz ppl.

I hope that doesn't means Arching Blades and Marco Polaris are going to wait for you... I mean, will the story just stop?

Arching Blades
Nope, it should not stop but I am waiting for a reaction of Marco for my last post. If he doesn't soon, what will the plan be about, anyway?
06-14-2004, 03:35 PM#239
Marco Polaris
Well, I suppose we'll just wing it - another advantage of having mild control over the other characters, since otherwise we would have to wait.

Let's see the plan unfold . . .

Shinjo darted into the clearin, poleaxe at the ready. At the other side lay Siroff, relaxing upon a large stone. He blinked sleepily. "What took you, Shinjo? It's half-past ten already, and we've got a battle to start."
Shinjo growled, ignoring the human. Instead, he turned to the writhing green figure cowering in his grip. "Where are the others? You said they were all here!"
"They've moved! And there's something jamming the signal!"
Shinjo growled, then turned warily to Siroff. "Don't think I'm fooled - I know they're nearby, waiting to attack me from behind. But tell me, little friend - what were you expecting from me!" Suddenly the pandaren threw a man-sized net that entangled Siroff, who barely kept his feet as the great bear-man pulled him in with the rope attached to the net.
A voice from the cliff above stopped Shinjo cold. "I can't speak for the others, but I happen to be a little higher up!"
It didn't take a wizard to divine what would come next. Shinjo turned to run - and fell flat on his face, the rope from his neck tangled around his legs. Damn Siroff! But the human was nowhere to be seen.
A loud explosion shook the cliffs, and suddenly they were crumbling down on the pandaren. He turned to the goblin in his hand, seeking a solution - and found Gazz had disappeared as well.
Shinjo's roar of rage could be heard even above the rumbling of the avalanche.
_________________________________________________________________

"You know," Thenaius called out, "It's been a long time since I've had the good fortune to see a plan come together. I had forgotten how good it feels."
He glided down to help Siroff survey the wreckage. The goblin - Thenaius presumed he was Gazz, was digging furiously through the dirt, until the scrawny humanoid drew out a large, metallic backpack, gave it an affectionate pat, and swung it over his back. "Stupid bear stole this baby from me," he said, noting Thenaius' gaze of interest, "Inside's enough spare parts to build a tank and half a shredder, along with some of my more portable inventions."
"How?" the perplexed wizard asked.
Gazz only winked, grinning. "Sorry - trade secret."
"We can chat later, guys," Siroff interrupted, "Right now, every second we waste could be another life in our hands. Thenaius, could you-"
A sudden explosion rocked everyone off their feet as Shinjo burst out of the mountain rubble, disheveled, but furious. "You think to beat me through trickery, you filthy apes! I will crush you in my bare hands!"
"Bear hands?" Siroff's grin was a weak one, "In that case - Firessa! Karazai! Varall! Phase 2! NOW!!"

Hope you don't mind there, Dreadnought.

[edit]: Oh, hey there, Arching Blades! Didn't see you! Add on to the plan as you see fit - I think I might PM Count, since he's returned, but hasn't even informed us why he hasn't posted here. Nothing rude, just a little inquiry.

"It was at the end of the afternoon, and they were at the city's gates. Therranor, as Ronarreth, knocked.
'Who is it?' the sentry asked.
'Ronarreth, son of... Karghelonson...' He had to quickly invent a name for his father, and it couldn't had been worse. 'Karghel Lonson.'
The guard stared at Therranor with an expression of doubt.
'What, did you never hear of Kar'ghel Lothson?' Asked Zâw'Goth, as Thogaz, the bard, with a melodical intonation, soft and captive. 'A great warrior, who fought against the undead at Losh'Moghak.'
'Hmm...' The guard murmured. 'Ok come in.' He opened a door narrowly and they got in.

Then went straight to the tavern."
