last time i used ex protect.. it made the map alot bigger.. i cant afford to make the map any bigger.. or did the maker change it?

I am the maker, and if your map gets bigger when you don't save a backup I'd be interested in seeing the map (unprotected) so I can figure out how that could possibly happen. If it still gets bigger with the latest version(at the link in my sig) when you don't save a backup(which means you don't put a password in the box), please email the map unprotected to the email address at the link in my sig.

ok.. i did all that.. ok it dont make it bigger.. now when i try to use the map i get a "map cannot be found" so.. i dont know

When you try to play the protected map you mean? Are you using version 0.1.1.0? If so, I would greatly appreciate you emailing me(to the address at the link in my sig) the map so I can track down the bug and release a fixed version

ya im using 1.1.0b when i play the unprotected map it works fine.. when i try to use the protected one.. it cannot find the game

Simple extra protection:

in the .w3m, make a folder called "Scripts" and put the .j file in there. War3 can still read it but WE screws up :)

and I knew it from zepir's map editor back when I cracked its protection and figured out how basic protection works. ExtProtect already does that (along with many other things of course).

Well as far as that bug in the current version goes, unless he's already tracked it down I narrowed the cause of the crash in my specific map to two things, a unit at 0,0, and (all) the rects. Go figure. Could upload the map/map script if desired.

Anyone happen to be able to e-mail me an old version of HL? I'll give ExtProtect a go for protecting for now...I mostly use heavy locker for the optimization/compression anyways.
