@Blademaster : the Warcraft 3 Viewer version I had attached worked fine for me to convert your harpy skin. In the .rar file, there is a working converted blp file. Blademaster, know that if you don't want to try to read .rar files, then I won't be encline to help you : don't sit here and wait for the others to make the stuff. You could have searched on the Internet which tool could read .rar files. I advise you to use 7-zip, it is a free archive manager, which can read .rar files : http://www.7-zip.org/ . @eruku : it has been fixed in version 2.3b (I hope you use that one), read the changes : "During a batch conversion from TGAs to BLPs, when a 24 bits TGA file is found, a dialog box asking you if you want to add an alpha channel for the current file, for all files, or ignore the file has been added." I know that in the previous version, files were 0 bytes else. @topgun : your tga file has not a size power of two either for width or height, and it has no alpha channel. Know that you can use a good free editor : The Gimp (even for Windows). @egg : you send me a Thrall skin but you show me a screenshot of an elf hero... I don't understand your problem. And one last thing : I REALLY dislike those new forums. First, I find them graphically nasty, second everyone has lost all their points, third my avatar had been removed. And I haven't received any notifiaction mail for all the messages you put... That's why I have not answered quickly. |

Again thanks for an awesome program, Prophet. :D But when adding alpha channels the blps often become bluish. Here is an example. |

Alright Prophet, I seem to be getting pretty close here, but now one more tiny problem. I got the model and skin to show up in Warcraft 3 Viewer. Whoo! ![]() Now, the problem is that I can't seem to get it to show up in the game. It's a sword, so I don't want to replace a unit with it. I imported the .mdx and .blp and left the paths as they are (War3Imported\Gobbldygook.mdx) But I just can't seem to get 'em to show up... |

@TopGun : I can't help you about that problem, I have never done it, and that is not really the thread in which you could ask that question... I am only a coder, I haven't tried to import anything in Warcraft 3... |

Regardless, I thank you for your assistance. =) |

It turns out I'm a fool. I was using IrfanView to display the blps and while it can actually display them, it messes up the colors. |

Hopefully this is the last time I'll have to cause chaos in this thread. Right, so I have my skin, and I added an alpha channel. Yes, I'm sure there's an Alpha channel, because in Photoshop, there are 4 channels, the 4th being Alpha. Kewl. So how come the picture above has the sword perfect? Well, I was using Warcraft ImageExtractor 2 in order to convert the .tga files to .blp files. The program must have some strange bug, for it converted the file perfectly and it had an appropriate file size. Even though it showed up in WC3 Viewer, it still showed up white in Warcraft. Strangely, when I convert the skin using WC3 Viewer, the .blp comes up with 0kb file size, and the model appears white in the viewer as well as Warcraft. Yes, I'm using the latest version of the viewer. Prophet, have you any idea how to cure this? Is there something more that has to be done to my targa file? You said above that it does not have a "size power of two" in width or in height- what does that mean? If I'm re-asking something that has already been asked, then forgive me. |

I'd be glad you send me your TGA file just before converting it into BLP with W3V. "size power of two" : it means that the width and the height must be numbers which are power of two. For instance, 256 is power of two (2^8 = 256) but 96 is not power of two. n is power of two <=> exists k in |N, 2^k = n David Quote:

Ah! Perfect, that was it, I just changed the image size to 256 kb and everything worked just as it should. Many Thanks, Sir. ~TopGun |

In animation rotation, how do you use the 4 values to rotate? are they used as quaternions? if so how do you interpolate them? |
