lol, don't go too fast. Step 2 would be to make sure Canada's economy doesn't go down even though it will. Right now the US are goin down and we are going up: really bad thing.

-Exportations will lower because the value of the canadian dollar is rising. Less money for us because they will buy less.
The other problem is that the US are offended we didn't help them. It is true that they would have always been there for us if something went wrong, but what could possibly go wrong internationally with a country that is as neutral as Canada?
Of course the united states will make our economy crash within 5 years because they simply promised we'd regret not to have helped them. What they'll prolly do is that they'll tax every product that come from Canada. Result: our major client stops buying from us... less money, canadian dollar's value goes down as well as the entire country's economy. recession? possibly.
But for now, I prefer not to think about this "cataclysm"
