Oh, by the way you mentioned the ball spinning endlessly, stopping that is simple, just make a trigger so that when it's not moving set it's animation speed to 0. then when it's in motion again put it back to normal. So it might go some thing like this:

Make a trigger to set the ball position:
Event: Elapsed time equal to 1.00 second(s)
Action: Set "X-axis"=(x of(unit position of(ball)))
Set "Y-axis"=(y of(unit position of(ball)))
Set "Check-X"=(x of(unit position of(ball)))
Set "Check-Y"=(y of(unit position of(ball)))

Then make one to check where the ball is:
Event: Every .02 seconds
Action: Set "X-axis"=(x of(unit position of(ball)))
Set "Y-axis"=(y of(unit position of(ball)))

Then finally, another that sees if the ball's position changed:
Event: Every .01 seconds
Action: If (("X-axis" less than "Check-X") or
(("X-axis" greater than "Check-X") or (("Y-axis" less than "Check-Y") or ("Y-axis" greater than "Check-Y")))) Do "Set Unit (ball)'s animation speed to (default unit animation speed)" Else do "Set Unit (ball)'s animation speed to (0)"

WOW! That's one big trigger, maybe it isn't as big as I thought it'd be! But it works, so good luck on your map.

BTW: GREAT IDEA, SOUNDS LIKE IT"S GONNA BE GOOD!

Excusez moi, monsieur, but I do go outside to play football. To be specific, I'm a runner, so the quaterback sometimes hand it to me. Then, I run like the wind till I get crushed by bigger people. :D

I'm having the most trouble trying to make a trigger that will make the ball fly depending on the distance. I seriously need help with that. If anyone can help me, I can really appreciate it.

BTW: I can easily make a target so people can see where it will land. Not only that, it will be only available to their teammates (invisible to enemy) so enemies won't have a huge advantage and requires their brain to guess...

Sounds like a very good idea, most people like football... im sure that it will be a great map :D

Soccer map is waaay too easy. If you want, I can create this before the football one. It is VERY easy to do :D

EDIT: The football map have lots of complicated triggers to do. The only thing that Soccer map I need is the STUPID "BALL FLYING DEPENDING ON DISTANCE" trigger. That would solve A LOT of things!

WOOT! I actually got 60% of the throwing system to work! Basically, in a nutshell, I made an invisible unit on top of the tower that has life = to Distance Between 2 Targets divided by 4. The answer is the flying height maximum. I also was able to make them throw to each other....

Now the hard part is to make the ball GO DOWN! :////

Cool, you could probalby ask datangel for a way 2 make it go down since he developed a system to see which height unit was on... At leastr i think it was him

Well....

You could make the ball a unit, then order it to move, so and so, distance on the x or y axis, then move its flying height down, "so and so" distance, and do that a few times. It gives the effect that its going down slowly. :D

Ive used this to make units appear to jump. If you need more help, I could figure this out with you.

Also, I like the idea of making the landing area (maybe out of a circle of power). Because then it adds more depth to the map. It would make scoring more than just clicking on your teammates to throw the ball. Man, this is getting better than Madden 2003. Heh...

But uhh....About the field goal kicking....I want to know how that would work. Its still sorta confusing me.

Actually, it will be harder to do than passing.

I'm thinking of "using" the time-clock on the top. It will spin like crazy, and if the dot hits the middle while you press "H", it will kick a 100% kick. You will need fast hands for this :D

I dont want any credit for it either, if i do help. But I like the idea of the field goal kicking.....This map is UBER in every way....Very good idea, VERY GOOD.

I know how hard it is to make map/semi-mods like this...Its difficult to make units throw things, thats for sure. I admire your hard work :gsmile:
