i think the unit editor lag was from worldedit restarting the animations of every unit on the map... mnaybe im wrong but thats what it seemed to do... also, very good info, thx guys


edit: what does that green button next to the campaign editor button do?

Don't do this to me!! 4 days until it comes out and... and... NO! Temptation growing to get cracked version for 4 days..... then buy legit. jk. Ahh, I waited about 1 1/2 years (from the day I head about RoC, until its release), not to mention I put an entire RPG on hold for RoC, and then again for TFT, I think I can wait.... I hope! Ahh that program I am working on for FyreDaug should hold the temptation back for 4 days.... 4 more days, WHY!!!!!
Alright I had my say, now to stare at my watch for the next 98 hours, waiting. :bangH:

The original editor lagged so much in part because it preloaded everything as it was starting up. That's why if you tried to use a custom model but it screwed up, then tried to change it to load again it wouldn't show, as WE stored it in it's active cache. Possibly one of the reasons random numbers and certain other problems arose when using the Test Map option.

Evidently Blizzard has changed something to streamline that bottleneck to a certain degree.

Must not wait... Have to get ti now... ARG! I cant edit as much as id like to cause my friend will just say LET ME PLAY! LET ME PLAY! all day long............................ hes a warcraft fanatic thats all he does all day is play warcraft :nono: :nono: :( he doesnt know how to edit wich is average cause then he wont take MY time to edit

EDIT: Demonic thats the AI editor button. I saw a screenie of it. Also plz describe: If/Then/Else (Multiple)

Thunder-Hunter I think the If, Then, Else(Multiple) means u can have multiple actions in and if trigger. That, I think will be the single best thing abut TFT!!! Wow... Being a triggerer, this will save me soo much time. I dont have to redirect to a new trigger every time. I can keep everything in ONE TRIGGER.... YAY!!!

Only thing that sux about that spell editor is you cant change buffs. Oh, goodie...new art. Oh, bummerr.....same old spell. Why the :cuss: didnt they add that? Its the same thing they do for some of the rest of those options. Are they afraid we will get a game crash if we mess up the values too bad?

Like it would be the end of the world that a map crashes. Hell, they do that anyway because of things Blizzard messed up. It was our big hope that spells would no longer require MPQ editing. So, wow, now we only have to insert 4 files instead of 12. Gee thnx Bliz.

Brett Wood mentioned that they simply ran out of time to implement it. Believe it or not, they didn't have infinite time, and buffart was one of the things they were forced to leave out. And why do we need to MPQ edit anyway? The importer allows you to stick the files in the map through the WE.

Very very nice.... Nice nice nice... If I didn't have..

a) insurance
b) registration
c) inspection

to do on my truck.. I'd be getting it on the first day.. But woe is I for that.. :(

But I shall be getting it as soon as I get the little bit of extra dough. :ggani:

The if/the/else (multiple) is going to be really nice... It does indeed make things alot simpler and it'll make code alot nicer looking.

Oh, didnt know they included that function. Well thats a big improvent anyway.

Only resion we hate MPQ editing so much is you have to reimplement every time you save. We make complicated maps that take a lot of tweaking so it becomes a real pain for us.

Did they include a .slk editor or do we just use the old ones?

Was wondering...does the new campaign editor allow linking of maps over B-Net. The old way you could do it but only for one player. If so that would open up a whole new arena for map making. Especialy MP RPG's. Other map styles could use this as well......

Hive's Revenge TD IV - With 32 map lvls....play them all if you have nothing elce to do this weekend.

If you take a really close look at the ability editor though.. it looks as though we will be able to screw around with the spells. Maybe not as fully as one could with the .slk's... But how much power did you really have in them anyways...

You still need to use triggers to really use the spells correctly.. But at least this time through we don't have to worry about going through a mpq editor just to change some measly items like mana charge and stuff like that... Names, art and everything looks to be explained a little better as well..

With the time frame they had.. This is going to be awesome.. 8)
