Hey! thats a really cool idea! it is possible to make text float above a unit? I didn't know that.. but I'm going to try it out soon. I also have a trigger problem, I posted it on bnet but didnt get a very good answer, here it is: I want to be able to find out on which unit a specific spell has been casted, only if it was successfully casted. therefore lets say the Ghost casts freeze on a peasant, How can I refer to that peasant? I tried "Target unit of issued order" but if the spell failed or is out of reach, it still triggers. Anyone know how I could do that? cheers, Desty |

I beleive there is a way to make text not show up after it is typed, I think I saw it in a gods map.. Anyway, Id like to make a few sugestions 1)Make NEW units not just existing ones, like use that cool orc guy with the big sword from TFT for a strong orc guy 2)Dont use heroes except for the ghost, It wud be better if the map for the ghost hunters were more squad based, than hero based 3)Give the ghost more units, like give it the doom ability, but make it so the unit dies slower, and when the unit dies, it creates a weaker ghost with like a slow attack or sumthin 4)Give the ghosts multiple forms, Like give it a weaker wraith form that lets it fly thru trees and stuff, and a stronger Haunt form that has more offensive abilities and stuff 5)Create awesome unique spells like that doom 1 I said before, and use more complex spells that frost nova, critical strike... use things like aerial shackles for a base, or blizzard and stuff... and I definately think u shud give the ghost "Breath of Frost"! Thats the coolest looking spell, along with Breath of Fire! 6)Change the story, it sounds kinda dumb that 2 enemies ally so they can both take over the most essential part of land in the world together. 1) I tried to do that but the existing units fit better I think as I need simple units: melee, range, spell, so footman, rifleman, priest. I will try looking for new stuff for the ghost. 2) The Archmage and Far Seer use hero models but aren't heros, just kinda leaders, and powerful spell casters. 3) Thats a good idea, i will probably include it, but ill change the flaming art to something frosty. 4) That would suggest a metamorphosis based ability.. I'll try it out, might be cool. Can you make units fly through trees? i'll try by reducing collision size to 0. 5) The Frost Nova looks kool, it has a huge area of effect, and jsut freezes everyone. Animate dead also looks kool, because you can cast it several times. I tried frost of breath, but It goes too fast, even by reducing missile speed it just stops at a shorter range... so I didn't like it so much. 6) I am triing to find other stories, this one is temporary =). 1. I agree.. Simpler units make some of the best games... 2. That's actualy a good idea.. :) 3. Just use the Ability (Breath of Frost) 4. The PitLord uses the Doom spell.. Just edit it in the abilities editor and give it to the Ghost. As for the Collission size.. Just make a trigger saying that if it gets in playabale map area.. Make the wrath have no Collission. (Unit - Set Collision state to off) 5. *shrugs* 6. Eh.. it's a basic story and it's better than the.. Someone's been captured let's go rescue their pathetic *** for the 197th time. But.. I'm sure you'll come up with something more in depth. Good luck. |

Thanks for the collision help, i'll check that out, Here is a new cool in-game screenshot, some of the icons are going to change but here is what it is at the moment: - banshee icon: Metamorphosis with invisibility, faster movement and go through trees(maybe). - Curse - Animate dead ( with multiple casts) - Frost nova icon ( Freeze, for peasants only, thats hoe you win the game ) - Frost Bolt icon: Super Frost Nova ( hehe ) - Death and Decay - Spare place, maybe for doom The Altar is the temple, and the lumber mill is the place you deposit gold... I like the map idea. How about that when a player has slept for 3 min or what ever the time was, he/she becomes a lesser ghost that can locate the other players and help the Ghost to win in that way the ghost wont be loonely. the lesser ghost should have ensnare, when it dies I should spawn after a minute next to the Ghost. I think the peasents/Peons should be very flexible, like being able to sell their base if the ghost finds them and they should have mirror image. The ghost should be able to cast sentry ward that the ghost can see many places and have entangling roots or ensnare instead of using only attack skills, if you have tft use the ultimate spell of them all the item spell: spell book, it rules it allows you to use many MANY spells in one spell when you use it you get a window where you can cast almost any spell (all spells doesn't work). :hm: You could create some fake ghosts that wander the forest just to scare people (the fake ghost shouldn't have any attack and shoulnt be seen by the main ghost) Why should the orcs an humans be allies they could battle the same time they are hunted by a ghost (just an idea) Hope you like my ideas :ggani: btw the peons/peasents should not have share vision with anyone, it would make it more scary (I dont know if you already have it this way, you should), the only ones that should have share vis is the ghost and the lesser ghosts. |

"Upon death the peasant will transform in a revenant ( Shade ), which will be allied to the ghost, and enemy to the others, and will serve as spy ( invisible ) 8-) ." For the shared vision, I though of no one having it, like you said, but its a bit extreme, thats why I thought having no shared vision between different races would be more adequat. There will also be zombies at certain places, maybe 5 in the whole map, WITH shared vision with the ghost, so he can have a quick idea of where people are going to =). so I don't think I will include sentry wards, I'm thinking of having the ghost sacrifice units it created with animate dead, to create new zombies :) The spell book is a really cool idea, I didn't know it existed! I will check it out... The peons being able to sell their base.. hmmmm, maybe i'll make it so when the ghost destroys a building it gives you gold, heh. I'll remember that for the balancing, if they don't have enough money, ill do that. Humans and Orcs not being allied.. hm..... So when they killed the ghost, they fight between each other? that could be fun but I don't know if its necessary, It would make the Ghosts job much easier... Maybe i'll make them vote at the begining :D It would completely change the way the map is played though... I don't think I want that... -cheers, DeSty |

I'm glad you want to play this so eagerly! I removed two buildings from the map: these are barracks and forge(upgrades), because after doing some testing I thought there wasn't enough room in alot of bases to do a town hall, barracks, forge and temple. It is now like this: Temple can build the 3 base units: -footman -rifleman -mortar team temple UPGRADES to Higher temple which can build in addition the sorceress, preist and archmage. Also, all the upgrades are in the town hall... therefore you will only need 2 buildings ( a part for the towers ) to have a full base =). I stilll got that trigger problem btw, can anyone help? -DeSty |

2 triggers first one to get the target e: a unit is issued an order targeting an object c: issued order = sleep a: set sleepunit =target of issued order the second one to check it e: a unit begins casting an ability c: ability = sleep a: do whatever with sleepunit ( a variable) this is fake code but its comes close |
