You are so good, and i have no time, but i have to make The Hobbit, i think i won't have new skins, cause i will trigger all maps, so it will be a very hard work. I must try hard to get on your level. For my defense: The Hobbit is my first cinematic-project |

Well it takes a bit of time to become adept at anything. I practicing enhancing my skills in Febuary up until TFT was released, and then I began work on the cinematics and stuff. Even if you can only edit around 2 hours a day, you can still get alot of progress. |

10/12/03 Well I got about 50% of the stuff I wanted to get accomplished completed this weekend :bgrun: Oh well I still got alot of **** out of the way, such as incorporating some sounds (got about 50 now :ggani: ), debugged all my screwed up cameras and timing and stuff, and... eh... oh yeah, a few little skins for buildings. Bah one day I just need to dedicate 5 or 6 hours to TTOA. Well I did work for 3 or 4 today... :ggani: I didn't get near as much accomplished as I wanted this week, but I did get a job doing cinematics part time for Reverie Entertainment: www.reverieentertainment.net Iron_Ian |

Hey, I'm back! Some of you may remember me from revolutions.tk (I was the insane poster). But I had to put everything on hold for school. But I'm feelin' good and I think I can return to the Warcraft World. Anyway, I watched your cin, and I liked it. Especially the part where the dark wizard fought the druid and you used those sounds that were like they were chanting. I don't know why, but I liked that part. Anyway, there's not too much wrong with it. The terrains good enough, and I liked the skins. The music fits really well, and the sounds are cool. Overall, I'd say you did a great job! And I can't wait for the rest. (Do you still have that website with the map on it?) |

DoF is a full price game with a completely new RTS engine. Those screenies are actually pretty old. A few months at least. I do believe that some work is being done on the tiles. You should see the water and the grass though 0_o |

10/18 Whoo... you wouldn't believe how many little skins and crap I just did. Spent all day making new doodads, and finalizing some of the other skins and stuff, then it took about 2 hours to import and get everything right in the WE. I got about 20 more minutes to work on the terrain, and a bit on cinematics tonight. Tommorow I plan to do at least 1-2 more minutes of cinematic :ggani: Anyways, off to work, cya l8ter guys :gsmile: Iron_Ian |

Basically I just made new skins and imported them, and then I used the Object Editor to make some custom doodads. You know how to skin right Bloodslaughter? You did some of the skins in King of the Mountain Hall? If not though - http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...threadid=23687 That tutorial by me might help you out :ggani: |

10/19 Well didn't really get much work done on terrain/cinematics today :bgrun: I was still fixing up skins, as I continually found some little glitches that were bugging me. Anyway, now that thats outta the way, I can get back into full terrain/cinematics mode. alpengeist36 is going to be doing some modeling for me (removing Team Glows, mdl editing, and some other stuff) Today he removed TC from 2 characters, and slightly edited the model of one of the characters. :ggani: Well I worked as hard as I could today (definitely spent alot of time working on TTOA today), but unfortunately I had some crap to do in real life - Yard work, and helping my dad put our new windows in :ggani: Gonna do some more work b4 going to bed - cya guys, Iron_Ian |

Bleah I have a crapload of tests and crap this week, so no progress on TTOA for the past few days, except for on the background story. I wrote about 2 pages of rough draft about how the world was created and stuff :ggani: The current name for the world TTOA takes place in is Arasil. I'll post a bit about the story (Note this is really really WIP) Basically, a great natural force created two opposing great powers - The Titan - A force of good, his name was Aauron The Demon - A force of evil, his name was (gotta think of something still) They each created all the creatures and the landscape of Arasil. Aauron created animals, and humanoids (Humans, dwarves, gnomes, halflings, elves), and The Demon created Demons, Fell beasts, Dragons, etc... They appointed many of creatures that served their interests well as gods. Soon a war was started however, it was called "The Clash of Time" I'll give you alot more details later, and it will be much more understandable, but basically, one of the lesser gods made a mistake and killed a choosen of Aauron. Aauron struck back and killed this god who served The Demon. They declared war. The magical battle that followed was so powerful that it caused a rift of massive energy to open up. Eventually the rift reached an uncontrollable state, and exploded. Many of the denizens of Arasil were killed by the force of the explosion. And all spellcasters felt their magical abilities high drained. (Side note: In the timeframe TTOA takes place in, there are many magical spellcasters of great power. We will call the level of magical ability of a moderately powerful spell caster 1. The most powerful spellcasters have an ability of around 8. Now back before the rift exploded, magic was way stronger. Almost any being could use it at a level of 1. But the most powerful spellcasters could use it at a level of at most around 12. So basically, magic was around 12x a powerful before the rift exploded. The gods in the time TTOA takes place in have around 12 power. Before they had around 25x the power. They could literally reshape the world with magic of their magics.) The Titan and Demon both relied on their great magics to exist. But after the explosion of the rift, they were destroyed. All of their magical energies however, were contained in 4 small spheres. Each God had 2 spheres containing 1/2 of their power. Due to the massive power contained in the spheres, the gods decided to place a magical lock upon them. To gain any power, a creature would have had to have both orbs of one of the gods. So the Gods placed a magical lock on them described below: Sphere A (The Titan) - Character has to be of good alignment to take this sphere. Sphere B (The Demon) - Character has to be of good alignment to take this sphere. Sphere C (The Titan) - Character has to be of evil alignment to take this sphere. Sphere D (The Demon) - Character has to be of evil alignment to take this sphere. So effectively, to be able to gain any power... To get the good power of Aauron - Have to have Sphere A, and C To get the dark power of The Demon - Have to have Sphere B, and Sphere D. But one creature cannot get both spheres, as they cannot be both of evil and good alignment :bgrun: The spheres were also to be well hidden, in the most desolate places of Arasil. However, during the process of locking the sphere, one of the most powerful evil gods secretly muttered a twisted incantation that would allow someone to get both Sphere C and D and combine Aurons power with The Titans power. This secret plan of the evil god went completely unnoticed... He waits more then 1300 years before he finally picks a choosen to seek out the orbs and bring them to him... Iron_Ian |

10/23 or 24 or whatever the date is lol. Friday. Ok its the weekend again so I can progress on TTOA alot more now. This week I did crap nothing because: 1: I'm a lazy bastard. 2: Lack of interest (Parts without fighting are no fun to make) 3: School |
| 10-24-2003, 11:10 PM | #30 |
We all have our share of laziness:D |
