This is a HELP FORUM... not a "I Will help you if you pay me" forum! I HATE THE POINTS SYSTEM. It was a novel idea, yes, but its just NOT practical. I am with you on this one Zachary_Shadow I was here when the point system had only existed for 10 minutes, and ALREADY it was ruining the boards. DOWN WITH THE POINT SYSTEM! I voted: "I don't like it, please turn off the points.." PS> Post count is still listed in your "Profile" that other people can see. EDIT: WTF?!?! Someone voted that they like it? Must be some spammer... |

who voted for yes ? emote_sweat and why he / she didn't gave any valid reason for that vote ? |

I love that people give their oppinions in on it, but if someone don't have a comment...it's a spammer. Someone vote they like it, I'd love to see the reason ? :) Thx guys, we gotta keep em coming :) |

I personally don't really care that much but my post count has already been removed so whats done is done. I think you are all getting a little to worked up on this, I mean its for fun and if people wont help you unless you pay them then they are assholes in the first place and you can tell them to go to hell. Your all looking at the negative side of things now. I mean with this system where people want to have contests you can give some points as parts of the prize and maybe even have people donate to a pool for prize points. I for one would rather have that then a fugly sig made by someone who I myself could make a better one in photoshop with. It also lets us punish spammers with the ability to "rate" their post with a dissaproval so they will actually lose points instead of getting them when spamming. If someone helps you now with a problem you have been having you can now approve of their post and give them a point as a sort of "thanks." There is no need to leave the site over all of this. |

it makes sense, but it credits will be exploited...and someone might get the idea to have the most credits, and like in real world, there will be stealing etc :) so he opens up u'r profile, or just try to sign in as u, he sends the "i forgot pass" and ....well u receive it in u'r mail but thats not the point :) we don't want points :) i don't really care about the posts, i'm here so i can help and be helped, not being paid/ripped of for it... |

The site will be more and more dominated by people who prize their work. Look at Wolverine, not more than 20 minutes (or at least not very long) after it was made, he did a post, offering services for points... More of these will come, and noone will share their skins anymore unless u pay up. I don't like it. Contests and stuff is good, but it will become a contest of a serious part, instead of fun. We might be taking this to a high level, but you tend to do that when your dissatisfied with something. The example with the armor model is just the start, the post had been there for 6 days, and when some "reward" is involved, I get a reply, 120 points or no model....ffs!! IF it was disabled for people to give to each other and points cost of changing stuff, then fine! But now, I'm not going for it. |

excatly the same thing....for instance look at the "Campaign help" thread posted by me....not one single reply except mine...i'll post out some reward now....let's see how things change :) |

i dont mind the point system, although it is annoying that previous posts arent shown, but this selling **** for points has got to stop fast why not make a site rule that files and help may not be sold for points, and if they are, the offending person's point total gets set to zero? i also dont see why u need points to change avatar and title...or is it to unlock (so u only need to spend it once) the avatar/ title change? stop the selling points for service bullshit, that will make this site a much worse place, i agree and this thread, despite being in the wrong place, should stay, because people will read it here, and it does need to be read |

DemonicSoul, Love the statement in your sig! I agree that if they DO decide the keep the point system they need to remove the ability to give points to others, or at least severly punish those who charge points to help. I hang around these board because: 1. I like to help people. 2. I do need help every now and then. 3. Just reading other peoples problems/solutions is a learning experience, and I like to learn. A statement (related to the one in your sig) that I like is "The only stupid question is the one you never ask." or "There's no such thing as a stupid question." |

Know you mean well :) But it isn't REALLY in the wrong place. One should actually have been announced, but since they haven't, one should be in each forum (ok, a bit over the edge) BUT, this IS the most visited forum, and I for one, spend most my time here, at the skinning forum and modeling at times. NEVER set my foot (keyboard?) in the off topic forum(once, I was forced :P) or the site discussion (before today). Thanks for your backup, lets hope it all helps :) |

The whole world does not revolve around these points. You see like two people trying to sell stuff and you jump to conclusions thinking that everyone will be charging. Even with this point system it is still a site where you can help people. If someone wants to charge you for it, its their choice, they don't have to help you if they don't want to. There will still be those people out there who creat skins for free and for the fun of it and if you ask nicely in a PM you might even be able to get them for free. These points might even acutally modivate people to do more skins. I see these people all the time begging for skins and their threads seem to go un-replyed to because no one feels like devoting the time to do it. Now if that person happens to have 200 points sitting around he could be like "Hey Ill give 100 points for a skin of blah blah blah" then he might have people begging to be the one to make it. Let me guess, the glass is always half empty to you all? |
| 10-26-2003, 11:04 PM | #28 |
well, it depends of how u look at it...i mean, there will be lines like this i'm sure of it "hey, u gave him 100 euros - points - whatever for a skin, and to me, who did half of your triggers u gave nothing ?" etc.... and ofcourse the "i don't have time for that one right now...maybe you could interest me more by adding another 100-200 credits to your offer (and u offered 50)" and the more you sell your skins, the more pay u will want :) u don't want to work for the same money always, right ? |

Now your getting into saying that everyone is greedy, no thats not true. |
| 10-26-2003, 11:09 PM | #30 |
i'll post on this some more tommorow, when i get some sleep :) no, not everyone is greedy...but some will become :) none of my posts is related to ALL of the people.... |
