he is in warcraft 3, but before that he was an orc, the one who first made the blood pact with kil'jaeden, but when he went back on his promise, Gul'dan took up the job of damning the Orcs and conquering the human world. Ner'zhul died when he traveled through a portal he made out of dreanor, as it was tearing apart. Kil'jaeden imprisoned his spirit in the block of ice. |

no, i dont think it espiffically said block of ice, i think it said "freezing prison" which would be a lich body, hence the name "LICH King" yea:ggani: |

Also, his fresh was removed by Kil'jaeden, so he must be a skelleton |

I will say it again, this is meant to be ner'zhul before the end of warcraft 2 beyond the dark portal. |

For those who spoke about Ner'zhul's current form, here's a quote from the WarCraft III Manual: "Ner'zhul's spirit was placed within a specially crafted block of diamon-hard ice gathered from the far reaches of the Twisting Nether. Encased within the frozen cask, Ner'zhul felt his consciousness expand ten thousand fold. Warped by the demon's chaotic powers, Ner'zhul became a spectral being of unfathomable power. At that moment, the orc known as Ner'zhul was shattered forever, and the Lich King was born" Enjoy. On another note, good effort on the skin, but it looks too much like a normal shaman. If you zoom out, you'd hardly be able to tell the difference, I think. Keep working, though, everyone starts out somewhere. :) [Edit: Oh, and to avoid confusion, Ner'zhul's icy prison was later shaped as a throne.] |

crap....he's a block of ice.....in the shape of the throne.....i was wrong.... ok anyways back to teh topic here, I personally think you should make his model out of a green warlock, cuz he was a warlock:gsmile: then put the shadowmoon markings on him, somewhere, anywhere, his cloak maybe, then you would be gatting CLOSE to what he was like, cuz i remeber a really bad cinematic in either warcraft 1 or 2 , He was like wearing a black cloak all over him or something, oh yeah and in warcraft 2 gul'dan was a death knight me thinks:ggani: ne ways if u base him off of the warlock it would be better, yeah thats what this post was about Beazulbludstone:ggani: |

yeah... anyway, Gul'dan was a death knight as far as the game programming was concerned, but as far as the story was concerned, he was a warlock. death knights were undead, Gul'dan was very much alive. |

And technically, Ner'zhul was, in fact, a Shaman -- not a Warlock (supposedly). Personally, though, from the picture of him in the Beyond the Dark Portal manual (and later in the Art of WarCraft), I would ALMOST make him based on Grom's model, except that there is no casting animation. |

Guest | Where can I find a picture of Ner'zhul? I really want to see what he looks like. |

there was no pic of him in the beyond the dark portal manual... Edit: wait, is that him on the page with the caption "The Aftermath of the Second War"? |

(I'm doing this from memory, so it may be inaccurate.) He's the Orc with the topknot and the facepaint, lounging in a stone throne of sorts. Drawn by Metzen, I believe. |

yeah, that's the one I'm talking about. didn't know that was ner'zhul. grom would probably be a more appropriate model for that. oh well. |

wait i'm thinking...wasn't that orgrim doomhammer.....yes ner'zuhl WAS a warlock, If ur guna base him off something base him off the green warlock people just gotta pay more attention to me... I DOOOO have warcraft 1 still:ggani: maybe i'll install it just to see how much they've improved:ggani: aaaand to help show u what he looks like |

No, Ogrim had long hair in back, braided on the sides, as opposed to a topknot. His face was more cro-magnon and less human-like. He also didn't have facepaint in any previous pictures. And, last of all, he wore that badass black armor that Thrall wears and carried that badass giant hammer that Thrall carries. :D EDIT: Ner'zhul was a shaman, not a warlock. Read the manual, --he is referred to again and again as a shaman, never as a warlock, and it is never suggested that he even used warlock magic (or demon magic) to open up the dark portals. While initially tempted by Kil'jaeden's offer, he is not the bloodthirsty powerhungry renegade that Gul'dan was. Ner'zhul even broke the deal in which Kil'jaeden promised him limitless mystical powers (presumably demon magic). |

i beat the beyond the dark portal human way without cheating oh yeah i feel big bad and improtant now! Anyways In it New'Zuhl sure as heck used demonic majiks to confure up his otehr portals. He used the skull of guldan and some stuf from the tomb of sargeras (i think) he was reffered to as a warlock then (at least in the human campaign) |
