Ugh... You don't know how true that is... I need opinions. Should I release the final version sooner, but the unprotected version later, release the cacophony of bungled triggers sooner, and not release a cleaner version, or release the final as the cleaned, unprotected version? |

And I alpha tested it... I DID THE ESC-UP ARROW KEY THING! DIBS ON THAT! Right Shimrra? Make them wait till it's done. Muwhahaha. |

That's going to be changed to [Esc] in the final. A text command will be used to activate the system. But, yes, you did think of that. |

Nothing impressive and totally dick of you to protect it. As far as how its done very very simply. Its just dialogs its a pain in the ass to create so many of them which is why not many would bother doing it. As far as optimization of code you have none. You should just arrays instead of creating a seperate var per each so you can define the strings for the buttons and description in a string array and that way depending on whats click you can just have an iterate through loop till you find the entry you seek. This is a poor mans way of doing it. |

I believe I have stated before that I was cleaning the triggers, which included making less variables. As for protecting, it was only until I could finish. I should have the finished version done for tomorrow. Also, I am not the ultimate triggerer. You are obviously supieror in that matter. I did the best I could and that's all that can be expected. Not to mention, some people couldn't do this, and I will release the finished version completely unprotected for everyone to use. Thank you for stating your opinion. |

Who in there rightmind is going to steal a imcomplete system? Not many. Especially one which only supports one player and would take a lot of rewrites and uses atleast 10 times as many triggers as it should. I offer my code freely despite level of completion, if you releasing a demo map you should always release freely. |
| 02-05-2004, 11:30 PM | #23 |
Like I said, I am working on the code, so that the release will be simpler. Please don't turn this into another 'To protect or not to protect' arguments. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but don't start an argument over it. |

Meh, people need to read posts before they complain... |
| 02-05-2004, 11:50 PM | #25 |
I looked at the code saw it was junk didn't understand the prase it was getting saw it was flawed was suggesting an easier way and really I share vexs opinion protecting a demo map is stupid. |
| 02-05-2004, 11:54 PM | #26 |
Unfortunately I don't share your understanding if every single function. If you want to try and explain your suggestion in a more in depth way, I would be glad to try and incorporate it. I did the best I could. It was protected for the above stated reason and because, as you said, the triggers where a mess and I wanted to fix it before I released it. It is the releaser's choice to protect or not. If you know how to do it, don't complain. |

Not to mention, Weaddar, your coding was in JASS> Which 90% of the general public have to inention on reading, nor learning. Or flat out can't read it. Shimrra's is in GUI, a weird arrangement of GUI but still GUI. Which 90% of the general public CAN read. So, as you may see, the two items are very different. |

I'm pretty sure most people will find commented jass much more useful then uncommented convuloted triggers which are basic copy and paste 10,000 times over. |

Dude, why are you dissing him. This is his first attempt on a public map, your really making it a nice ride. I can't belive you people... Sigh... And for the 5th time, He protected it so that he could clear up the triggers before he realeased the final cleared up version. And who cares about Copy and Pasting... whatever gets the job done. I don't care how the triggers run, as long as it is cool. |

Please, I know you can trigger immensely well, perhaps even as well as Blizzard. The fact is I can't. It may be a hodge podge of triggers, but it works. That's what's important. You don't need to insult it. If you know how to do it better, then let me know what to do and how to do. I will gladly implement it and give you full credit for the assistance. You have stated your opinion, and unless you have some help to lend, you need no longer insult the project. |
