Guest | well Via triggers you can attach various different Special Effects to a model, if you was to model some special effects like a weapon, then you can attach them the same way you do special effects Event -(anything you want, even map initialization) Condition -(also anything) Action -Special Effect - Create special effect on the -overhead- of -[triggering unit]- using -filepathname- just use the create special effect thing, and you can attach it to these various parts : head overhead origin hand left hand right foot left foot right weapon chest and some other places, but for the part of making weapons and/or equipment, those are sufficient as for making weapons fitting propperly, all you gotta do is make them the same as effects like the Gryphon's hammer, and stormbolt, cuz those both fit perfectly as weapons |

Whoever said to make totally brand new models = is a bad idea. Editing models = ok But as far as I know, you can't animate totally new models yet. |

Guest | The main problem that makes the skinning so hard is there are no images that I can copy-paste onto the skin, so it looks like the real thing. FF3/6 never had good concept art that was ever skinnable, and the ingame images are way too tiny. Plus, I have yet to see any fanart thats skinnable too. If ANYONE at all, has images from FF3/6 of characters from a frontal view, PLEASE post a link. Thanks. |

The only souce I can think of that you didn't use is Final Fantasy 64, which was a 5 min or so movie of Locke, Shadow, and i think Terra fighting a monster in 3D. It was made back when Square was still with Nintendo. |

I don't really know anything about modeling or how hard it is, so I didn't know that it would be extremely hard to make new models for characters... But I do think that new models for weapons to be attatched to the characters would be good, seeing as the ones there now all have problems, mainly being that they don't attatch in the right places or you can see the movement streaks moving past the weapon ________ <= See the lines there? That is what I mean. Not part of | | the hammer, but still annoyingly there. O ||||||||| |__|_____ Err, that's a pic of me trying to explain what I mean. That there is a sad picture of one of the hammer models. When put into a hand, those streaks look pretty bad sometimes. So, I hope u understand what I meant. |

Hmm, I've got 2 FF3 strategy guides (one's 600 pages 0_o) I'll look for some art. Here's my Locke so far. It's very early (duh) but suggestions are requested. Only comment on the skin so far, please, unless you think there's a better model. Remember, for Locke you need a seperate front and back, with a stab attack. |

Guest | A separate front and back on the skin, the way it is/normally is with skisn...*nods in apprieciation at this model* hehe, anyway, keep going with it, arms look cool, might want to do more to the shirt, I guess just adding in solid dark lines for wrinkling, the chest, etc, then starting the shading from around there. You've got shading in there, now you just have to direct it more. Pretty cool spears heh, wicked looking. Keep us updated, its very early on, looks like it could turn out great. |

The spears do look cool. It's a shame that there's so much detail that can't be seen in Warcraft III. Here's my newest version. I'm having some problems with the face, so no close up :p. He looks awesome from the isometric game camera though. |

Guest | Ok, quick question for the pros, how do I do transparancy in the alpha channels in Photoshop 6.0? I tried using black, then saving my image, but no results yet! |
