Ehh, I have no idea why your wc3 would be messed up. My program certainly couldn't do it, but I guess the converter could sinse in uses that. Anyway, here's the EXE! You shouldn't have to use java at all anymore. |

don't worry, I wasn't accusing the program of it, I know it was the converter. Do you use yobgul's? |

one thing: I havent checked if it also deals with helpers. Also, regarding those errors, they were yobguls generated. But keep in mind; if yobguls cannot convert it, it usually means incorrect input (aka errors in the mdl) regarding sturm; lets bury the hatchet of war. Im busy lately with a big guide regarding mdl edit so those mdl request popups will be squalched soon. No more excuses for most people now not to read the guide. Also, where did you extract the wc3 file converter? know that that thingy has 1.00 cracked wc3 roc dll.s so its quite possible that you have overwritten them over your up to date (or more luckely, just added) ones IF you extracted them in your main directory. Best bet is to overwrite the dll's by asking around of your buddies of they got a untouched dll's otherwise you gotta reinstall everything (my tip is to extract it anywhere cept main directory,) . If they did not overwrite, remove em. Im certain there was a big fat warning, or used to have one. also, there is also one file converter i think and thats yobguls; your stuck with it ^_^ the tool has: game.dll Mss32.dll Storm.dll War3.exe worldedit.exe and the proggy itself. Remove the dlls and the exe's and replace em with your friends un touched ones |

I did extract to my main directory because I think that early versions had to be there Thanks for the info, I went ahead and reinstalled, I wont extract to the main dir. Its a good file converter, I would sure like to keep using it I went ahead and did my first one, using the java version, using the animations from a footie onto a sorceress. It worked great, it looked pretty good. The only thing keeping it from being perfect was that the skeleton (the corpse when the unit dies) was carried during the animations. So besides that, it works great ill go ahead and attach the merge if you want to check it out, just change the file path to Units\Human\Sorceress\Sorceress_V1.mdx I didn't have any more time to try any others to see if the corpse is carried over. Im at work now so Ill try when I get home |

Good to see there are other programmers in java at this site . |

actually, that would be great...then people wouldn't have to wait in line and i could get a little peace and quiet...oh and see if i'm doing this right... 1)base=what model i want 2)animation=what animations i want 3)output=what name 1&2 will be is that right? cause i transfered animations and it said done and everything was ok with the file converter, but it doesn't move at all in the viewer... |
| 03-21-2004, 09:24 PM | #25 |
ok when you have the 2 .mdl files, the base is model you want to transfer the animations to, the animation is the model you want to take and animations from. The output is the .mdl of the base model with the animations of the second model. From there, go ahead and just add it to the map with the path being the same path that the base models was Like say, if you xfered footies animations onto a sorc, take the out put model and import it and make the path name the same as the regular sorc |

Cookie, which two models did you use? I want to try to reproduce whatever went wrong there. The corpse thing is definately an issue, but I'm not sure how well I can deal with that. |

anyway you could restrict that out of the transfer? I'm not a .mdl editor or a an experienced vb programmer. That's basically the only part that would look better if it didnt change. I was unable to xfer the sorc anis onto the footman, the footman ended up having no animations. Would there be any coding differences between the vb edition and the java edition? |

I also figured out why that wasn't working and fixed it. I'll also try to do something about the corpse. However, it doesn't look like I can compile again, at least on that forum. A moderator informed me that it broke the forum rules and closed the thread. Argh. Question for Cookie: Can you give me some idea of how someone could systematically associate one set of GeosetAnims with another? Would that be feasible? If anyone has a version of Visual Basic that can compile and is willing to compile this for me, please tell me so! |

well use whatever file sharing program to obtain what you need |

i have same problem as ice knight it says everything ok and the model doesn't move at all |
