Qualms with WC3Shear

The amount of popups on wc3search is insane. Just from viewing a few files I have at least 10 pop up windows. Why does it have any pop ups at all? Even so why should I go out of my way to get a blocker for this site. I mean the content isn't even worth it.

Just get a pop up blocker, service pack 2 or the google bar will do it for you. Better yet get firefox. Whats thew differnece between MyIE2 and firefox? They seem practically identitcal from what I can see at from the interface and feaures list, except Firefox is open source (mmm extensions).

Just wondering, what exactly do you do to get popups in wc3sear.ch? cause I often use cibercafe comps with 0 ad protection, and internet explorer and never seen that crap.

i first saw mine when i tried to look at the art section in wc3sear.ch style (not wc3c style)

I always use wc3sear.ch mode, but really I don't know why I can't see the popups, Am I popup immune or what?

well i dont know, i never saw that pop up before, only when i looked at art section so its not a spyware since i removed them all and i still see it

Well since the ads are randomized it's possible (if a little wierd) that you're just lucky, or maybe the cybercafes have more protection than you realized.

heck, do you really think I would defend him for this, I am really not seeing the popups, I think it is probably of all the comps I was having service pack 2 according to Dorelian, and at this moment wc3sear.ch is wc3c 's download section so going against it is going against wc3campaigns' download section.

Here is a screenshot of the pop ups and some wc3search content. Look at this it is something actually on wc3search it has been there for a few days. I am not intending to post porn please delete this as soon as an admin sees it or thinks it is too offesive. I am merely trying to make a point. I am using a standard internet explorer and I have no adware on.

I havent had any problems with popups and crap, but that s mac for u, and I use mozzilla firefox. and quite frankly i m tired of those sick skins on search thank god darky has put his foot down.

Yea, darky really needs to review more. Theres so much flaming in the comments going on. It is so sad. People take skins from my site and post it at wc3sear.ch then claim to make the skin. Even after I catch him he claims that he is the orignal author even though his name is matt and the original author's email is khris... I mean overall it could be 100% better. Stuff like the "good ol cock n balls skin" has no place on a wc3 site. At least no one said "OMG CNP!!!! you could at least freehand the penis"

Random fact: Over 50% of the flamming on WC3Search probably comes from me. From when I flame people. For putting skins in the model section. Or so forth. Just another reason why Darky needs someone to actualy browse through the sections and delete the rubbish, leaving only the good stuff

Ok, first of all Darky's campaigns got some of the best wc3c artists working there, Darky's campaign has its forum in this site, and in many ways we are brother sites, Even so Darky was in need of extra hosting and asked Stoned, Stoned gave him hosting, but after seeing the incredible scripts, he decided to merge the downloads sections into one, So it is not like this site can't have a download section, it is more likely Stoned Liked Darky's and found no reason to use hosting for 2 downloads section.

I didn't know wc3sear.ch had popups now I can confirm that even If I still don't see them, I just hate when I site has popups and will try to stop that, I don't know why, but I will.

I don't like site individualism, A net of sites is far better than a site war, And I see nothing wrong with sharing stuff with other sites. That's why I defended the ideally of changing the download section. Actually I think the sites can be even more together and we should be their forums section.

There is no quality control in wc3sear.ch , that 's right, but I actually like that, there are really few cases where a skin should be deleted, and I preffer to not wait 30 days till someone approves my stuff, and don't like how artists think that their work is the only one that is good, and try to remove everything else.

There is a need to have more moderation though, that's right.

And really I hate sites with popups.
