im sry if it creates so much trouble... I had the same problem when I first downloaded it, but once you registered it once you can even reinstall it and it will still work with the same code, without you having to do all this **** again ;)

What do you mean? Did you extract the mdx from gmax? Or did you assign the skin in gmax? Did you make an alpha layer to make it all visible?!

I dont know whether you got to have one for applying it in gmax?! What program do you use psp7 or photoshop?

In Psp7 you just go to Masks -> New -> Show All

Then you go to Masks -> Save as Alpha Channel

Then You just hit Ok two times, thats it.

Can you maybe send me a copy of the skin in the meantime, so I can give it a shot?! Unless you are not finished yet of course... Actually I give it a try with the empty skin! Thx

Never Mind, but I wouldn't use photoshop for doing the saving and all the extra bits, like Alpha channels and so on... Its not that competitable. Anyway I see two options here you can either download a trial for psp7 and do it with psp, because Ive no idea how to do it in Photoshop, or you would have to send me the file so I can give it a try. You could also download (if you dont have it already) the warcraft iii viewer. There is an option there, where you can convert a tga into blp and it will ask you automatically whether you want the program to create an Alpha layer, all visible, for you. You just hit Ok and then convert it back to tga?!

Here are the Links:

Warcraft 3 Viewer

psp 9

There are no more links to download the psp7 trial and I am not sure it works with psp9. It would be easier if you just post what you have done and I can then have a look at it and give you feedback to what I like and what I think that could be improved on. Anyway sry for this turning out to be so complicated!

Thx Tschig

Edit: Did you attach the skin correctly in gmax? Maybe all the triangles are just locked up in the to left corner of the skin and you didnt move them across the areas they are supposed to show?! Probably not... Anyway heres a good tutorial on how to apply a skin in gmax Magos Tut

ok the wc3 viewer method worked and i have a alpha channel now. but the model is still black. and i double checked the triangles in the corners. when i use another model with his skin it works perfectly fine. i can think of only 2 options:
1 i send you the skin.
2 you send me a mdx so i can use it in wc3viewer.
or maybe you have a better one?

Right I think youre right. I can maybe get the mdx to you by tomorrow, maybe this evening even, Ive got to see about that...

Also I know there are still some faults in the model, like the faces are turned inside out at some points?! You can sort of see through the chest at some point for example. So It might be that I dont know. Ill try and fix that. Does definately the whole of the skin not show up?

only the part where i attach the skin turns black.
btw the bottem of the feet and the inside of the legs are also invisible.

Yeah I know Ill fix that. I see whether I can get the mdx to you soon.

Alright hope it worked! Here is the mdx. The faces are not fixed yet, so it might look a little funny?!

Ps: Can you send me a copy of the skin anyway, so I can give it a try.
