Yay got my copy of XP & my harddrive today, plus a free hat from NewEgg.

I've decided on the processor I want... but now I'm really facing a mean drawback. I really wonder if it wouldn't just be smarter to wait until PCI Express becomes mainstream. One of my friends at school thinks I should, but I dunno.

Ah well, I'll let you guys know what I decide on. ^_^

Okay so that was f***ing wierd...

Obviously b0red0m has afflicted me. My interest in TTOA right now is just... like... not there... every once in a while I ponder over something TTOA related, but elsewise I'm just being a lazy SOB. I've got some ass-busting to do for Reverie Ent. that I need to get onto here soon though.

I should be ordering my new comp pretty soon. It'll be a:

3.4 ghz Athlon 64 bit
ASUS K8-V Deluxe Motherboard
1024 mb Corsair XMS Ram
GeForce TI 4200 w/ AGP8x

Should be one hell of a screaming machine! I can't wait to load Ut2k4 on it, crank up everything and have no lag (I hope). And then I'll watch TTOA Part 1... Lag Free!

***Rockets off to save the world... or maybe just go to bed***

Good night folks, don't let the Haxb0t hack...

Actually you'd be surprised what this son-of-a-bitch can pull off. Its got AGP8x, its almost equivalent to a TI4800 because of that.

When my dad had this card on his 2.4 ghz Pentium Northwood (I believe it only has AGP 4x), he could run Ut2k3 on almost full detail. I realize Ut2k4 is more taxing on your system, but I think a TI 4200 w/ AGP8x & a 3.4 ghz processor with 1 GB of 2-2-2-5-1 Latency Ram it will still scream. ^_^

GeForce 6800 ---
Vertices per Second 600 Million
Fill Rate 6.4 billion texels/sec.
Memory Bandwidth 35.2 GB/sec.
Maximum Memory: 256MB
Memory Data Rate 1100 MHz
Pixels per Clock (peak) 16
Textures per Pixel 16
RAMDACs 400 MHz

GeForce FX 5950 Ultra ---
Vertices per Second 356 million
Fill Rate 3.8 billion texels/sec.
Memory Bandwidth 30.4GB/sec.
Maximum Memory: 256MB
Memory Data Rate 950 MHz
Pixels per Clock (peak) 8
Textures per Pixel 16
Dual RAMDACs 400 MHz

GeForce4 Ti 4800 ---
Vertices per Second: 136 Million
Fill Rate: 4.8 Billion AA Samples/Sec.
Operations per Second: 1.23 Trillion
Memory Bandwidth: 10.4GB/Sec.
Maximum Memory: 128MB

GeForce4 Ti 4200 w/ AGP 8X ---
Vertices per Second: 113 Million
Fill Rate: 4 Billion AA Samples/Sec.
Operations per Second: 1.03 Trillion
Memory Bandwidth: 8GB/Sec.
Maximum Memory: 128MB

GeForce4 Ti 4200 ---
Vertices per Second: 113 Million
Fill Rate: 4 Billion AA Samples/Sec.
Operations per Second: 1.03 Trillion
Memory Bandwidth: up to 8GB/Sec.
Maximum Memory: 128MB

While the newer cards are a lot better (the 6800 obviously blows everything else away), the TI 4200 with AGP 8x is still a pretty good card.

Hehe no Ian ^^, the 8xAGP just brings nothing for you, cuz NEW GAMES (e.g. UT2k4) don't use AGP8x to blow the data out to CPU no, they need a quick graphics card with 16 (RADEON 9800pro and so on ...) rendering pipelines to boost em up intern.

AGPx8 is just to get the datas from the graphics card away to the CPU, but that way is too long for good speed in games, so that for you need a graphics-card that don't needs to send data away .... and manages all intern.

Don't take this personally now, but I wanna help you .... I believe you don't know much about computer hardware if you talk about AGP8x that powers up the speed loooooooool, that is just an advertisment gag for those that don't know what brings power and what not .... and hey you won't concern with this people or ^^?? => NEW GRAPHICS CARD

;)

Bloodslaughter is right, agp8x has little advantage over 4 but the ti4200 is a good card anyway.

Yes I'm aware 8x ain't much better. I was just saying the TI 4200 is still a half-decent card. People can brag about GeForce FX cards, but most of those suck from what I heard. I don't have the money to buy a Radeon 9800 Pro or a GeForce 6800 yet, so I gotta wait. My TI 4200 will be fine for now.

It cost me a total of $1101.46 (including a copy of Windows XP Pro for $137)

In other news... the inspiration just ain't coming back. The newer graphics of better games like UT2k4 are going to draw me away from Warcraft III. That and Dawn of Fantasy is starting to kick some serious ass ^_^
I may cancel TTOA sometime soon here.
Regardless of wheter TTOA continues or not, I will at least take the liberty of getting voice acting for Part 1 & 2, and doing a few minor dialogue changes to them.
The site will be done eventually as well - for screenshots, wallpapers, downloads for the parts, and the storyline. I'll also keep writing the story (TTOA has become a part of me, I will continue the story no matter what).

Sorry to start to give up after such a long run... but War3 just ain't entertaining me much anymore.

OMG, if I were you, I wouldn't have invested soooooooooooo much in the fuckin corsair RAM, my brother bought the best corsair ram (1 year ago, with 1GB) and it costed 350 dollars .... and I just bougt Infineon (also very good, even better as the corsairs ^^) for just, and now you may need a handkerchief ^^, 150 dollars.

You can guess what I think of your bargain or ^^? o_O

Heh... oh well. ^_^

My RAM will kickass -
2x 512 Sticks of PC 3200
Low Latency (2-2-2-5-1)
Heat Spreader
Plug-n-Frag (Auto-configures Bios to use 2-2-2-5-1 Latency I believe)

I don't mind, yeah it was 275 bucks, but at least I know I'm getting quality

Also keep in mind your bro got the Ram a year ago, things change after a year. ^_^

Just a quick notice, prolly won't be online for a day or two more.

Like UT2k4 for instance...
