Apparently Starcraftfreak has it and the german version, do you have the german version or something other then the english version? Because, perhaps that's why i don't get the goblin alchemist... EDIT: And another guy who says he has it also has the german version.

What are you talking about ?
The Version of Warcraft 3 or the version of Warcraft 3 Viewer ?
I have the French Version of Warcraft 3, and it's working fine for the goblin alchemist.
If you were talking about the version of the Warcraft 3 Viewer, they are all the same.

Try to see if it really does not work with other guys owning the english version.

I meant the version of warcraft, and it seems people with forenge warcraft 3's get the goblin alchemist.... starcraft freak has german and has the goblin alchemist, pizter mike has german and goblin alchemist, you have french and have goblin alchemist, my two friends and i have english version, no goblin alchemist. So, i believe only people with forenge wc3's have it, but i guess i'll ask more people, perhaps it's just coninceadince. (I have bad spelling by the way)

I suggest that the problem comes from the list file.
If the list file I provided in W3V for 1.15 version has been made using a non english version of the game, perhaps it is different for the english version.
Try to get a listfile made from the english version, and try it.

A new version of the Warcraft 3 Viewer has been released.
Here are the changes :

- In response to several requests, I added the possibility to export the current animation to an animated GIF ("Animation" menu, "Export to animated GIF..."). You can choose the area to export (crops the pictures), the size of the exported images, and the frame rate.
- Jester-of-Death made alternate icons for the toolbar. You can choose between the two series of icons in the "View" menu, "Toolbars" submenu.
- Fixed miscellaneous bugs (flipping problems and so on)

About animated GIF export :
In the Resize dialog, you can check a checkbox to let the background color of the GIF be transparent. I advise to choose the Nearest Pixel resize method when you choose the transparent option, and choose either the Bicubic or Bilinear interpolation else.
Animated GIF export uses CxImage, a free C++ image processing and conversion library (http://www.xdp.it/cximage.htm).

I was just wondering... I have just downloaded what appears to be the newest version (2.3a--is this correct?) and I am having a bit of a problem with it. It is simply that, when I load a unit into it, various faces of the mesh flash in and out of view... I have seen this type of thing happen in 3D-capable tools where the model you are viewing is zoomed too close, but I don't believe this could possibly be the case here. Might there be some system files I am lacking? I just recently reinstalled, actually, and am pretty sure my system is up to date, but I may be wrong... or perhaps there are other pertinent files I could stand to install? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

No, it is not correct : it is 2.3c
The only place where the Warcraft 3 Viewer should be downloaded is here :

Well, if your video card drivers are up to date, then try to change the zBuffer depth (Render -> zbuffer depth) in the Warcraft 3 Viewer. Try first 16 bits, then 24 bits, one of those two options should solve the problem (when you click on the zbuffer menu and then choose a depth, the W3V will automatically exit and relaunch, don't worry about it, it is normal).

Thank you; that was the problem. For some reason, I thought I had gone through virtually everything in the menus and tried them, but I somehow had overlooked the zbuffer option. I don't recall seeing it there at all before.

As for the version, I quickly ran it to see about the zbuffer setting and took note of the version number in the titlebar and it was, in fact, 2.3c. I had actually gotten it from your site. You see, I haven't done anything for WarCraft III in almost two years and had to start from scratch and ran a search in this forum for "WarCraft 3 Viewer" and found a thirteen page thread started by you which directed to that site.

When I install things, I am extremely particular about where I designate them, so I skimmed over the webpage for some indication of the version number and saw:

Source: yes, here (OpenGL, version 2.3a WITH ANIMATIONS) (or here for the old Direct3D version)

I didn't actually take note of anything else but the "2.3a" part in that line. Anyway, thanks again. It works now.

Actually, crap... I am still having trouble. The problem I mentioned before is remedied, like I said, but at the cost of something else. Now, this way, the darker places on the texture are invisible. I don't even mean solid black areas, either. They are completely transparent... brown eyebrows, grey shadows, etc. At 16 bit, it didn't do that. Is it at all possible to achieve the best of both worlds? Thanks again.

In fact, I don't see what you mean. Maybe a screenshot would be welcome.

Well, here is a before and after of the character I am working on.

This is the original, unchanged character. She's totally fine, by the way.

This one is the one I am making from the original. Here, perhaps you can notice that her eyebrows and eyelashes, for instance, are totally transparent.

I'm using a .jpg and I had a theory that I must convert it to .blp, but that changed nothing. Any help? Thanks.
