I've read throughout every post in this thread and still no one answered my problem. I keep getting this SFmpq.dll error, what can I do about it? |

apparently HL doesn't work (for alot of people), maybe you should just wait for the next version? |

I just don´t get it, Zarithas. Inside heavylock.zip you should have those files: heavylock.exe SFmpq.dll ijl15.dll Readme.txt You just need to unpack the zip somewhere and run the EXE. Sfmpq.dll should be on the same folder as the HL main exe is. You can also get SFmpq.dll from ShadowFlare´s site http://shadowflare.gameproc.com/ HeavyLocker is coded in Visual Basic 6.0, wich means you will also need the Micro$oft Visual Basic 6.0 Runtime (aka msvbvm60.dll). This file is usually already installeld on most recent windows. If you don´t have it, do a google search, download it an place on your windows system dir. |

Sorry if I seem impatient or anything like that, but I was just wondering when the next version of HL that works with the latest patch will be released. Any sort of estimate will be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work! |

yeah i have a question, when i protect my map, is it supposed to disspear from the list in game, making it impossible for me to select it and play it!? no matter what way i protect, the protected version will not show up in the select map screen in game. there was only one time that it did, and that was when the file got corrupt while locking and i couldnt even play it anyway. help? |

when i used a custom minimap and protected my map, the map was corrupted and crashed warcraft 3 when i clicked on it. has this happened to anyone else? |
| 07-08-2004, 11:55 PM | #324 |
Yes, it's happened to everyone else. HL is broke as it is what with all the new WC3 patches. |

You can still use HL to recompress your map to save space. You can't protect it however. You have to select the following options:
The easiest way it to force ZLIB with auto table/buffer size with all other features disabled. This way you save some space (not as much as with optimizations). |

SCFreak, I used those exact ones stated above and it gives me a DATA IS CORRUPT message still. Bah |

I did as scfreak did and it worked. Heavylocker hasn't worked for a very long time for me. :) |

I'll give an example what you can gain with the method I described: Example Map: Lost Temple (FT Version) Original Size: 246.457 Bytes Recompressed Size: 210.745 Bytes Size Reduction: 14,49% Removing the listfile and the attributes file saves only another 0,10% or 245 Bytes (thus it's rather useless). The recompressed Lost Temple map is no longer recognized as Blizzard-signed map. This method should only be applied to custom maps (I just picked it as an example). Especially maps containing imported data files in text-based formats (TXT, SLK, J) or a big amount of triggers/jass code can achieve even higher ratios than the LT example. |
