The horse skin will be changed. Right now, the Elves have three horse backed units:

- Heavy Cavalry (basically an Elven Knight) - this one is on the page
- Mounted Scout (a fast, but weak rider) - not on the page
- Mounted Archer (under work, will be a fast ranged unit, basically a ranged support for Cavalry) - not on the page

My early idea was to put only the Mounted Archer into the game, but then I couldn't get the good model and I settled with elven version of Knight. Now that I'm making the model myself, it would be a pitty to abandon those great models, so I expanded the mounted forces a little bit, but made the cavalry quite expensive to represent the small number of units available.

Constructions? You mean those trees and the house? They are concept buildings for Wood Elves. I'll be posting more after a while...

The Elf... well, I wanted to make Altariel. It's basically just a simple recolor of Night Elf with only minor adjustments done. I have a few such screens here, but the final version will probably be some kind of combination of a couple of them, or perhaps a whole new 3d screen as such (that's preety easy to make with Art Tools now)

As soon as the Archer is made (today the model received stand and walk animations, tomorrow I intend to do the rest of required animations), the page will get an update. A few news, a few more elven units (both mounts, Nature Conjurer, Enchantress, Loremaster), possibly Silvermoon and Valley buildings (obviously I can't post Wood Elven buildings yet, since I've just started making them) and of course early Troll units (mostly those that are already in the game, except for a few ones I already have).

Well, I am working on Blizzard's game, so keeping up with published dates is not to be expected :)

Anyway, I apologize for the delay. I'm having problems with archer's attack animation (that cape of his is in the way and the arm carrying the arrow goes all around the body (not to mention the crazy error I had yesterday. The horse was... well, skating, while the archer was spinning his bow :////). I guess I'll just leave it be as it is until the web page is updated.

Yes, Xaran, I will be keeping the Slave. After all, it's a great model and making another one like that would take a lot of time even with Art Tools (you see, if I want to import the model, I have to redo all the animations, 'cuz there is no good animations importer!).

OI!!! ANSWER THESE ANOTHER SET OF QUESTIONS FOR ME :ggani:

1. My old team and i talked aboutm tyhis issue before but how would "Wood Elves" gather wood? I mean, in warhammer they dedicated their life to Nature... Wouldnt it be just plain wierd for a Wood elf to chop wood down? Wisps maybe? Dunno...

2. Are you guys seriously going to use the legolas skin for a wood elf scout? The skin is nice but it doesn't fit in Warcraft that much

3. Maybe i didnt read this but will the Trolls be a playable race?

4. Will u make this a mod that can be -played over the internet?

5. Will u marry me tufy?

let me answer qustion number 2 PLZZZZZZ

yes tufy will use the wood elf skin cuz he made it for this campaign..... i think.... anyway he did make it look like legolas so all litle Lotr makers out there can have a legolas eithout Boobs!

oh and tufy, it would be cool if u could like make an upgrade or so, that made it possble for mounted archers to fire when moving!!

Wild guess? A small update in a one week time, then a small pause, then a major update, when I have most of troll units done.

Vampire: Will be, will be... Perhaps a screenie soon :)

I have most of the maps completed. The problem is that 3rd map has Wood Elven bases all over the place and most of the buildings isn't even modeled yet. Oh, and Trolls apear there too, wich means I can't really post it until I have those models. But lately I'm speeding in this area (I have six wood elven buildings under work here. When I'm tired animating one of them I turn to the other, while Xaran is making Troll buildings for me. But still things are slow... Man, do I need another modeler!

1. The name "Wood Elves" is a bit misleading. I've named them that way to separate them from Silvermoon and Valley Elves. They are not really Wood Elves in a general sense of word, they are High Elves that live in the wild southern forests around Darrowmere. I think of them as of Tolkien's Sindar (like those in Lothlorien). In CaQT, they are an intermediate stage between Night Elves and High Elves. They still use part of druidism, combined with their own magic. Since they live in huge forests, they don't really have housings made of stone, rather they use their magic to grow large trees and then transform those into their housing (see picture a page back).

I haven't really worked on their wood cutting ability, but they will probably get either:

a.) a worker that doesn't cut trees
b.) a "Forester" building that will plant new young trees
c.) some other kind of lumber cutting

2. The legolas skin was created out of frustration as I was seing a whole lot of Lotr campaigns with Legolas that had "Pam-style" boobs. :ggani: I said to myself: that's a preety simple skin to make and went make it. But now, a couple of months later, Lotr campaigns are still being made and people still use "Legolas Windrunner". Oh well, some never learn...

I'm not sure if Legolas will remain in the game. If someone can make a good skin of the face, I'd appreciate it and change it, but I don't have time for that if I want this campaign done in a reasonable time.

Oh, btw.: "Legolas" is Woodland Archer, not Scout. Scouts will be different units. Archers will have the ability to transform into Woodland Rangers (WC2 style transformation).

3. Possibly. I've been thinking of a way to make the story follow Elves until they recapture Silvermoon and then switch to Trolls for the rest of the campaign. I'd have to redesign a few maps, but that's not that big an issue. Of course a lot more balancing will have to be done if that will be the case.

4. CaQT is a campaign. Once it will be launched all the models I made and all the material I used will be free for use (unless those that made the material demand otherwise) so everyone can benefit from my work. I haven't planned a mod and quite frankly, I don't think I'll have time to do something like that. But, you know what they say: Never say never :)

Thought about it, dropped the idea, cuz it's too hard to make (animation for every single angle wich makes like 360 attack animations for a full circle, plus a whole lot of triggering. No thanks.). The "moving attack" effect might be used in the cinematic, though.
