Cania leaned back away from Firessa wo was out again. She breathed a sigh of releaf that Firessa was going to live, she had been able to close the woulnds and give her enough healing salve. With Firessa asleep, Cania turned her attention to Siroff and the dragon, Speckles.
"I feel i must appoligize to you both. I ignored you even after you have saved our lives. My name is Cania Nightwind."
Cania tried to stand, but she colapsed from her exaustion before she could hear any reply from the other two. She was unconcious before she even hit the ground. The last thing she felt was the burning in her sholder that felt like molten iron was being poured there.
......................................................................

The cloaked figure walked tward the small town. It was the last hour dusk, but there were no guards in the lookout towers near the gates. The figure could hear the light evil laughter coming from the trees near it. It approached the closed gate without slowing. The gate opened without anyone visibly open it. the men in the guard house on the inside of the gate payed little attention to the cloaked figure, had they payed attention they would have seen the drag marks appearing when the figure passed.
A shadow detached itself from the wall of the barracks. The soldiers were all dead before any of them could make a sound in alarm.
A drunkard came out of the tavern as the figure approached it. He notticed the female shape of the figure.
"Hello my dear...*hicupp*.. how would you like to spend the night with a real man."
As he approached he felt something lightly push him forward, but payed no attention to it.
Something wrapped around his neck, he could not let out a scream as he saw the figure take the shape of some form of demon.
"It will only last shortly for you mortal. You will my first meal tonight." Takilarae, the demoness, purred.
The screams from the succubi victems becan then from the victem's own homes. As well as the screams from the dying soldiers being cut down by the demon lord as he entered the small town. No one survived.

Cania in her dream state watches it all through the eyes of the demoness. She also feels everything the demoness does.
..................................................................

The alu, Mia as she calls herself, enters the city an hour before the demons attack. She uses her succubi charm and persuades a human boy to flee the town with his younger sister. she tells him to flee to the nearest city. The two humans flee to Raignaton when they hear the screaming starts. Mia watches them flee until they are out of sight and then joins in the massacre, and taking of captives.
They were the only two to escape.
..................................................................

Cania wakes with a scream. it has been a couple days since she colapsed.
Firessa has already been awake for a while.

Siroff watches the sleeping forms. "Was that necessary?"

"Speckles" nodded her massive head. It is for their own good. There are bonds within both leading to others who should not see this place. The great dragon frowns slightly. A shame, since this realm is well known by the night elves. It may have done them some good to see it.

Siroff mumbled agreement. The Emerald Dream - the realm of Azeroth if it had never been touched by man, elf, or even troll. A huge forest, beautiful and magnificent, home of Ysera and the green dragon flight. And the resting place of the night elf druids' spirits when they went into hibernation. There was a peace that could hardly be descriped.

With much care, the great dragon lifted the night elves onto her back, and soon the awake pair were off, making their way towards the point in this wilderness that would correspond with Raignaton in Azeroth.

Siroff walked in silence, contemplating his first time here. The ruins, Kol had shown him, the amulet he had discovered . . . the rest tended to blur, until all he remembered was the connection forged. The gift he had asked for - and never had the chance to repay.

Kol . . . . I'm so sorry . . .

Then Siroff, I suggest you make up for it by helping these new friends of yours in the same way, the dragon interjected.

Siroff sighed, nodding his head, but then turned to watch a flicker in the forest. Did you see that?

Yes. It's the Unwaking. One of the night elves must be having nightmares, and it's attracting them.

The Unwaking?

Things have changed since you last saw this place, Siroff. They will not attack so long as I am here. But I'm afraid that Raignaton itself lies within the Nightmare, where I dare not go.

What?

The Emerald Dream is what it claims to be - a realm of dreams. But recently, the power of nightmares has warped parts of the land, making them dark and deadly places that corrupt those native to the realm. You are outsiders and here physically, so you can't be corrupted, but you must still fear the Unwaking.

I need more than that to go on!

That is all I can give you, by Ysera's command. I am sorry. And we are here.

Speckles was right. The land before them seemed to writhe and boil, with charcoal trees bearing faded grey leaves. The animal bore spines and fangs and moved without direction, driven mad by the nightmare forced upon them. The light of the sun was shut completely out, allowing all sorts of dark beasts to cavort freely in its absense.

I must leave. I will try to stop the Unwaking on this side before I go. Good luck, Siroff.

Before he could object, she was gone, soaring into the trees. Cursing, he began waking the others.

"oww god. i can hear you asshoARghhuggg....
Vomit cleaned the ground of the little grass that was left, creating blighted ground where it landed.
"Yeap thats they price you pay for hanging out with Kelthorose, breaking up a ritual right in the middle locks up alot of magic in your soul. Since kethorose breaks up magic and souls your dubble screwed"
Narfil used his sleave to clean his mouth from the vomit. "Hanging out with kelthorose also blocks your telepathic ability's"
"GOD! You really suck at making friend huh?"
Searching for a way to end the conversation Narfil simply replied: "I dont have friends"
"Strange enough, and not thanks to your verbal skills, you do have friends and they seem to get into big trouble real fast nowadays. I think you should find them. Maby in a dream?"
That last sentence was said with a hidden message. But narfil didnt have the strength to think about it. He got up and stumbled around. "i need to get my vision straight"

Siroff walked to the sleeping form nearest to him, Cania. he reached down to flip her over so he could wake her. His hand touched the bow on her back. Lightning shot through his arm, he could not pull it away, and he heared a voice in his head speaking to him.
"What the.." Siroff tried to pull away again but he could not move Cania, the bow or his arm.
"Let her sleep human, if that is what you are. She will need the rest to restore her energy. you may turn her over so she is resting on her back, but do not touch her amulet if you enjoy having a functioning arm. Have the other night elf speak to me when you wake her. Cania needs someone with healing skills to tend to her wounds."
Siroff was shoved back and stumbles, but he regained his balance quickly.
"What was that!"
He flipped her over and found a claw mark from a ghoul had gotten through her armor. the cut looked as if too much more strain on it could make it severe, currently there was a small amount of blood coming out of it, there were a couple drops on the ground where she had been laying.
Siroff left her as she lay now and went to wake Firessa.

........................................................................................

The soldire watched the reinforcement troops at the tavern. They looked as if they had just lost a family member. The other soldires in the tavern were happy they were alive, but the troops that had helped them were sitting in a corner just looking at their drinks. He assumed they had lost somone they had cared about, he thinks it was their leader. He heared they had been looking for him/her ever since they had arrived back in the city but had not found him/her.

Firessa was shaken out of sleep with astonishing violence while Siroff was talking to her in an astoundingly loud voice. She tried to block everything out but any action she tried to take seemed to demand double dozes of energy to perform. After some time, she realized that it was not Siroff but her. The human was shaking her shoulders very gently, whispering her name in her ear to wake her up. There was no hurry in his manner.
“Firessa, wake up. Wake up, Siroff was saying.
“Okay, I'm awake… Firessa replied weakly. She sat up and looked around. They were in a dark place. She did not know where but the sense of familiarity remained with her. “What's up, Siroff?
“I need you to, huh, talk to that other night elf, Cania as she says. I don't know how but some telepathic voice told me so and also not to touch whatever amulet she has on her, Siroff replied. He seemed confused with in forehead wrinkled in a frown, deep in thought.
“What the hell are you talking about… Firessa said more to herself as a statement and without waiting for any reply, she got up. She walked over to the sleeping form of Cania. The night elf was dressed like she was, in the traditional sentinel armor of her race. Her face was scarred, a long cut along the cheek. Siroff crouched beside her, looking at the night elf too.
“Here, he said, pointing to the deep cut in her arm, “I think you should heal that. Can you do so?
Firessa frowned, examining the wound closely, “I thought you could…
Siroff shook his head, “Unfortunately, I cannot use my magic on her because of whatever spirits protect her.
“Then how would I-
You can, don't worry, Firessa. The ghostly voice seemed distant but was clear enough for Firessa to understand. It was not Azshara, Firessa was sure. Holding a hand out to the wound, Firessa prayed to Elune. She did not think this would work but she could always try, she had thought.
A clear female voice replied to her prayers, I shall heal your friend, Cania, as she is also my friend and child. But remember that, the powers within are not always to be trusted and soon you shall be confronted to some terrible decisions that are essential to take.
Firessa did not understand the warning. Clearly, there was something dark about her powers that she could not identify. But she did not have more time to ponder upon this as Cania awoke with her wound healed and body perfectly healthy. Except that, ironically to what Firessa had thought, Cania screamed as soon as she opened her eyes. An ear-piercing scream made up of fear… and terror…

OOC: She is healthy but no marks or scars have been erased. Only new wounds… Just to clear that and avoid any misunderstandings that might be aroused later.

Kar and her masked companion traveled along lost roads and paths, through the forests. Not once in all the occasions she had had Kar been able to take off the mask of that stranger who seemed to know so much about her. In contrast to that failure, she succeeded in locating herself in the lost woods they were going through. They were only a few days south of Raignatan and a day short of reaching the nearest city to their position. Kar was no longer defiant of the stranger. He had shown some skill in battles with some wild animals they encountered on their journey. Furthermore, he had shown no will to hurt her in any way since the beginning of their travel while his answers were always short. On that, he seemed to have an immense will to keep his identity secret.
Karazai walked at a trot speed behind the stranger. He was perfectly straight, showing no signs of weakness in his demeanor despite the nearly six hours they had walked since dawn.
“Can't I have a rest? I'm hungry… Kar complained.
“Didn't you have a rest two hours ago? he replied mockingly. His voice was still unidentifiable but still contained some emotions.
“A five-minute rest is hardly enough a rest for a walk of more than two hours! Kar retorted.
“Okay, I'll go fishing in the nearby stream for lunch. But first, let's find a cave or something for shelter, he replied kindly.
Cave? I have a strange sense of déjà vû for that scene, Kar thought.

OOC: Some may be confused here but for those who read from the beginning, they'll understand… I suppose…

Tell me what u find confusing. It might just be a mystery that'll be resolved later... This is a turn where all separated and confronted to multiple obstacles at once. Each one of the characters has his own very different quest to carry out and it is separating them. Gradually they'll regroup...

Tell me what u find confusing anyway...

OOC: Hey, if you're wondering, this stuff about the Nightmare and the Unwaking is mostly fact, though I may have misspoken when I wrote since I've only got a few paragraphs to go with.

Thenaius found Gazz first; somehow, the goblin had made his way into Glakthul's mansion and was busy scrambling through various blueprints and schematics.

"What do you think you're doing!?!"

Gazz turned around, misty eyed and looking like he was about to cry. "He was a friend and fellow tinker . . . . I'm sure this is what he would have wanted -"

"For Light's sake, he barely knew you!"

All hints of sadness disappeared - that goblin could really put up a facade when he tried. "Well, it'll only go to waste if I leave these here - Glakthul never mentions this room in the will, and all his relatives are miners and archaeologists anyway!"

Thenaius blinked. "How did you acquire a copy of the will?"

"Stop trying to avoid the point!"

"Look, keep the ridiculous sheets of paper, fine, whatever! Right now we've got bigger problems on our hands! Karazai's alive!!"

The goblin paused, looking confused, but his hands never stopped scooping up the scrolls. "Why is that a problem?"

"Well, because - I mean it isn't a - gah, never mind! The key to that statement is that now we need to find her!"

The goblin nodded absentmindedly as he tucked the last of the appropriated documents into his backpack. "Well, how do you know she needs our help?"

Thenaius growled. "Do you make it a habit to ask stupid questions?"

"I haven't asked one yet."

Thenaius' face turned shades of red no elven skin should know. Suddenly Gazz realized how thin the ice was he was treading on.

"Hey now, take it easy, I want to make sure Kar is safe as much as anybody. What do we do?"

"First, we find Kraz . . . er, Narfil." Kraz? Why did I think he name was Kraz?

"And then, oh mighty mage?"

"And then we head north, north and west."

"What about Methias?"

Thenaius paused as the ranger's name was mentioned. He knew the Tuskrender family well, and he knew that Methias would not stop hounding him until he came along, even if the the fellow elf had to bind his hands and legs and tie him to the wind serpent.

"Well, let's just say we need to make this fast."

__________________________________________________________________

Siroff cursed as the shrill noise emanating from the night elf's mouth echoed across the forest. Acting fast, he clamped one hand over her mouth, drawing his sword with the other.

Nothing happened, the woods around them were quiet.

Almost too quiet. Wait, did I actually think that? I must be running out of material.

"Is there anything you can do to turn her voicebox off!" he muttered.

"What?"

"Can you shut her up?"

The night elf seemed peturbed. "Siroff, really, of all the people I've been with, I would have expected you to be more sympathetic!" Kneeling down, she tried to comfort the shaking Cania, speaking softly and petting her on the back.

Siroff blinked - must be a girl thing - and released Cania, stepping back to allow the two to have a "girl moment." By the Light, Kol, I need someone to talk to. Why did you have to just leave all of our lives all the sudden? Why -

No time for that. What was that I saw moving in the bush?

"Cania please calm down, whatever happened in that nightmare is over , your alright now."
Cania could tell that other nightelf was trying to comfort her, and it was helping some. Firessa stopped talking when her hand touched Tael, she could hear the conversation.
"You mean you couldnt see what I could?"
"No, your mind was blocked off when you collapsed. Your scar was emiting..... we are being listened to Cania."
Firessa removed her hand from the bow. Cania looked up at Firessa, there were tears in Cania's eyes, as well as running down her cheek.
Siroff was focused on the sound he had heared. Cania could hear it too as she began speaking to Firessa.

At first, no one could believe it.

A human stumbled out of the bushes, looking frightened to death and staring at them in surprise.

Siroff almost dropped his guard, until he heard what the man was mumbling.

"Have to get out . .. Light help me escape . . . stop this dream . . ."

The figure screamed, lunging himself at Siroff. Charging into battle, the differences between this thing and a human were suddenly apparent - his hands ended in bloody claws, his eyes were sunken in and baggy, and barely seemed to watch where he was going. And he was thin, horribly thin, as though he had starved to death.

Siroff brought his sword to bear with a quick slash, and the man fell over, presumably dead.

Firessa vaulted to her feet, sword at the ready, and the weakened Cania struggled for her blade as well. "By Elune's grace, what was that?"

Siroff looked down at the prone figure, and something clicked in his head. "It's one of the Unwaking."

"What?"

"The unwaking. Bex - er, Speckles was talking about them. I'd wager from this fellow that they are people who died in their sleep, or who fell asleep and never woke up."

Cania stood up carefully. "What's the difference?"

Siroff grimaced at her. "Well, one group would have bodies to go back to, and the other -"

There was a screaming noise, and something lept onto Siroff's back. Hands clutched at him - no, through him, grabbing at his immaterial soul - and tugged with supernatural strength, trying to rip his soul from his body.

Everything got fuzzy. Someone screamed again - Siroff thought it was himself - and for a moment, everything went black.

. . . When he came to again, Firessa was helping him up, and Cania was plucking an arrow from the head of an Unwaking - the same Unwaking Siroff had "slain" earlier.

Seeing he was alive, Cania grinned. "Next time, human, you should make sure they are dead."

Siroff cursed. "I did make sure - nearly lopped his head off." He gestured at the neck for emphasis - but there was no gash, not even a scar.

Something caught his eye then, something that said things weren't quite right. He stared harder.

The blood from the arrow wound was flowing - flowing back into the puncture, which was almost minutely repairing itself.

"#$@!" Siroff shouted, vaulting himself off of Firessa. "Time to get moving, folks!"

Firessa regained her balance easily, but was thrown off by Siroff's sudden temperament. "What do you -"

They heard a scream, and then a shout. Siroff could have sworn that he heard more rustling in the distance behind them.

"We got a long way to go, ladies, with an entourage that doesn't even take a knife in the gut for "No." I hope you two have a love for adventurer, because this little trip is really going to fill our plates."

"I really hope you know where we are going human."
The trio had been running for at least an hour now. She wasn't showing it, but Cania was near to colapsing from exhaustion, she had not had enough rest. She could hear another of these unwaking trying to come at them from the right.
"Of course i know where im going lady."
Cania really doubted that, but she kept folowing.
"Cania, that one on the right is getting too close."
"I hear it Tael."
Cania moved to the shade of the tree in the path of the unwaking, and waited for a second. as it came around the tree she drove the claws of her gauntlet into the back of its neck and into its skull.
She was moving back to the group when an unwaking jumped out of the tree and attaked her. she was able to turn around and meet it in time. but it had driven its hand into her chest, through her amulet, trying to get her spirit. It began screaming out in pain almost instantly as it was engulfed in purple colored flames. Cania could also feel the pain from it grabbing her spirit. The other unwaking were driven away by the energy from her amulet. Cania was trown against the ground from the pulse of energy released. she was knoked unconcious for a minute.
Cania woke up as the other two were coming over to check on her.
"What just happened?" she could not remember the one unwaking being destroyed.
She could hear the other unwaking moving away.
"Cania, they wont be gone long."

They were all around them. Though they had been running away for about an hour through unchanging environment now, Firessa felt as if they had not moved an inch. It was as if no matter how much they ran, they could not escape the pursuing unwaking. Cania was still laying on the ground. She had gone out for just a minute or two apparently.
“Siroff? Firessa began as something ticked in her mind, “Why are we among the unwaking by the way? Shouldn't we be in the normal Raignatan?
Siroff seemed lost for words for a moment. Clearly, he had not yet thought about that.
“That's because we're still in the Emerald Dream… he replied slowly. He knew he had yet to answer something. If they were in a dream, they should be able to wake up any time.
She glanced at Cania. Surprisingly enough, she did not look exhausted while Firessa had thought all the way she would drop any time. Yet, she did not, at least not of natural causes. She was a strong one. Perhaps it is the amulet. It radiates much energy and mystery enshrouds it…
A tapping sound came from ahead, from the bushes, and Firessa jerked her head up. Within the depths of the bush, she noticed the dark outline of an unwaking. As she stared at it, her headache came back to her in slight force.
A shrieking pain seared through her as one of the creatures forced its claws through her flesh. At the same time, her headache was boosted with additional strength. Her soul was getting ripped away from her body. I'm going to… die… she grimly thought. A scream tore from her throat, ringing in her own ears.
A loud voice boomed in her mind right then, “GET AWAY FROM HER! SHE'S MINE!
The creature was pushed with great strength as the very material of its body dissipated in the thin air. A sudden psychic force radiated from the night elf, momentarily distorting the environment.
Firessa opened her eyes to look around. A strange fire lit in her pupiless eyes. An ice blue colour against the normal dark red.

OOC: Erm… for those who have not read the undead war of the dwarven settlement, note that Firessa's appearance is not alike any night elf's.

Kar and the masked stranger emerged from the dense forest. A wave of shock rippled through her as she beheld a horrifying scene. The town they were supposed to pass in had been ravaged. Fire still lingered on the remaining debris of the houses that had lain there.
Silently, the stranger turned back into the forest, saying, “We'll go round this… massacre.
Kar prayed for the dead a moment before turning back into the forest again.

OOC: I hope Kar's adventure is not confusing anyone…
