Hehe can't remember everything.

The 2 big things is the not return to base and new chat system. or well the first one is just a row of code but it makes a big difference.
and the new chat system is just made not all new chat for it is made yet, just sent out words to all translators I could find asking if they would like to help improving the chat for their specific language.

There is probably plenty of other things, oh yeah there was some bug making base strategies only working as they should in 1on1 before, now they always work as they should.

What's new about the new chat system?

OT:

Do you know of any AI's which replace the skirmish AI for Warcraft II or Starcraft? I see custom AI's for people's campaigns, but I was hoping for a skirmish AI. I've looked, but considering I only found this place by accident, I think it's best that I ask too :)

I let you wait till the final release when the chat is finished and you will find out first game you play(if you have chatting on) :)

I have no idea about War2 AI and I have no idea what game Satrcraft 3 is. :)

I have seen some for starcraft but they always ended up as dissapoint ments, it's not possible to mod the AI that way in thoes old games like it is in war3.
When you see a so called improved starcraft AI you can only be sure about one thing, they made it cheat with resources.

I have just come across both UMSWE and WEU (I actually did browse elsewhere besides the AI/JASS Vault ^_^ ).
Anyway...I was if these utilities/programs can be used to customise AMAI, or can it only be done with a JASS Editor (i.e. JASS Editor 1.1A), besides the customisation that can be done in the strategy manager that is present in the developer edition?

There is the possibility to edit the tables that cannot be directly edited from the strategy manager. A lot of customisation can be done that way even without JASS.
As for UMSWE and WEU, yes, you can add triggers to your maps that do something with units but you have to be careful not to interfer with the orders AMAI gives to the units,

So I don't ever need a JASS editor then, I can simply use a text editor...is this right?

So basically UMSWE and WEU are used rather for map customisation, than actual AI customisation?

Yes, you can use a normal text editor but it is more comfortable to edit JASS with a text editor that has special functionality for programming.
The tables in AMAI can be edited with a text editor but usually it is more comfortable to edit them with a program like Excel (note though that Excel does some changes by itself that can screw certain tables).
UMSWE and WEU are enhanced map editors, so yes, their main use is making maps.

Its easy to fix. Once you save in excel. Open in a text editor that has a find and replace feature.

Use it to replace " symbol with a blank space
and then replace FALSE and TRUE with lower case versions. It did not used to work in upper case, may have changed in latest versions but i havn't tested.

That should be all the problems excel creates.

The true/false don't need to be capitals.

and search replace " won't work, the problem is that there is supposed to be "word" but when excel saved the file it adds more of them so it's """word""" for some odd reason.

Which file/files is this so i can take note of which it is, so i don't remove it accidentily. Dosn't matter too much though cause i use excel for standardunits.txt editing mainly and just txt edit the others because they are small enough. And i pretty sure replace can be used there as it adds 1 " to fields with multiple types.
e.g "millitia,worker"

(now you tell me i am wrong and i been compiling the file incorretly ^_^ )

I think currently only the settings tables have entries with "".
To edit the tables I use only a text editor at the moment but I can some time add a generic table editor for the rest of the tables to the strategy manager (not next version though, that one is too close to release).

Well we are almost only waiting for translations for all langhuages now, upgrading them to the new chat system. unfortunatly it seems we can't reach many translators but we will surely soon see improved:
