relax... It will need a pretty extensive readme for people that havnt done any mdl editing. I dont have any infomation that KMK doesnt have, he has helped me much more than i could help him at this point. Just some unkown bug is keeping his from working. Also i found a but in mine where you can only have one bone chain. This will cause some problems with lots of types of animation so i am trying to work it out. I promise you can have it before one week.

Ok, i just tried the map, it wasn't working (in XP), i turned compatibility mode for win 98 on war.exe and warcraft III.exe and it worked... maybe it's just some win xp crap again

Here is a demo model from my 3dsmax anim converter:
I made my eskimo model do jumping-jacks for a stand animation!

sry about that, it worked for me :ggani:
judging from the conversation in the irc channel, it might be unclear to some people what exacly my converter does.
First of all, it is completely separate from KMK's work
this converter can export the full model, not just the animations, and not just the geometry, ALL OF IT into the mdl format (more readable version of mdx format)
the model linked to above (thx LordHand) was not changed at all after i exported it (aside from converting it to mdx)
there might be some confusion because i posted somewhere about a different exporter that only exported the animations - not the geometry - and required a lot of effort to implement after the initial export. this is not the same thing

i will not release it for a little bit. i still need to test a few aspects, and add one more minor part (has to do with selection of a model)

of course you know this, but how about you have them creat a box and name it "Collision". The actual geometry wont be exported, but this will
Code:
CollisionShape "Collision" {
	ObjectId 66,
	Box,
	Vertices 2 {
		{ -83.4522, -93.952, -63.0775 },
		{ 94.7343, 82.0258, 83.1441 },
	}
}
i think that is what im gonna do. this way you have control over your collision size and it isnt just infered by the extents of your verts.
