Sry, im meaning to play it, but the current comp im on has a really crap modem and graphics card, so warcraft nonetheless b.net is off limits to me. But im off this comp in around 12 hours from now, and ill try your map ASAP. The problem is i cant find the bounty animation, i looked for it in the UMSWE giant list of models, but to no avail. |

i see the bounty sometimes. I see it the most on normal games. and how do you make sell buttons and all? the button thing isnt new i dont think? unless you added some features. how do make a sell option at all? ive looked at different maps but its always custom jass :( i could make sense of how the selling part worked but it was calling it when the person pressed the button etc... i have no clue what it meant :( |

Guest | U have to create a new unit type called "Sell" and with description "Sell unit" (try to give it a good icon and an invisible model) Then, use event Units - An unit owned by player xx finished training an unit And use condition (Type of (trained unit) Equal to Sell) And for actions, just do Unit - Remove (Trained unit) from the game And now add gold to (triggerring player) using the cost of (training unit) and remove (training unit) I don't say you how to do the las action because i don't know the exact actions' names |

Guest | New ideas are over-rated. I have made creative and different TD maps and all they get is pooh-poohed. If you want it to be popular, make a clone and lag up b-net like everyone else with 200 different buggy versions. Cater to your audience - they don't want original ideas. |

zotax : Thx, please give me some feedback, maybe in the other thread : http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...threadid=16606 -={tWiStÄr}=- & Golden Mirror : well as i explained in another thread about upgrading, i would seriously not recommend using trained units, i gave up that method a long time ago considerating all its issues. If you are interested, i could post my sell button system with complete explainations. I made it with custom text but it can easily be done with GUI triggers, i could get that done but i wish i knew how people write their " code -------------- blah blah -------------- " is it handtyped or is there any utility to convert GUI triggers into ascii text (not custom text, lol) CHUNK : Agreed. But i would actually be very interested to try your creative TD maps as i think the concept can be improved. And popularity is futile, all we need is good maps, don't we ? Unfortunately all we can do is make maps for us and friends and forget giving it away to bnet if it gets pooh-poohed (mine does too sometimes^^). I feel about the same as you do, people on bnet often have no respect for the hard work others did (this map sucks! , blah blah) , but we can't change this. :'( |

Guest | ChrydGod: A beta of one of them is on warcraftiii.net - Possession TD. I have a much better/simpler/refined map with a slightly different concept that I have made for TFT, but I am still waiting for the next WE for TFT before I finalize it. If you think any of the 'unique features' of Possession are really interesting, I can send you an unprotected version and you can peak at the code. I also wouldn't mind collaborating with someone that is interested in improving the genre. I am at least moderately serious, however, when I say that creative idea are generally not well-recieved. People want bland repetitive maps that are just like one they have played before. |

i'll try to send you a PM with my e-mail adress & msn adress In return i could also send you the unprotected version of mine, i am sure we would both benefit from our mutual experience in mapmaking. And i am aware of the fact that only repetitive and identical maps really get a chance becoming popular, with rare exceptions (i would probably include DOTA or some other well designed map) Regards |

Guest | u make it like a training unit, go to unit editor, the tower, then add the sell unit to training, make training it like .1 sec or whatever, and in trigger make it like -=trigger=- E-when unit finishes training C-unit equal to sell A-give 1 gold to player 99 -remove tower from game |

Actually, unless all of your towers are of equal cost, it might make more sense if you are using this approach to give the player an amount of gold equal to the tower's "point value" and then go into the tower unit's point value and change it to whatever percentage of the tower's cost you are willing to return to the builder. |

Guest | well, u can always make many sell and for each different one that costs same much put it, but its more work, i was just giving example, never used that before anyway :P |

Sorry... but they already said this. ChrydGod said he had a better way. and if you post it, can you do with the triggers WE gives you or gui triggers... something like that? Zotax? do you have the Special FX viewer? that might help you find the coin thing emote_sweat |

Well, it wont work anyhow. We need the bounty ANIMATION... Not killing a unit, hah. |
