I liked Wellspring, it looked pretty abstract and funky. The reason Aftershock's map is frogged up is that TFT is in beta so creeps WILL be too strong and doodad textures WILL be schooled up. I think anyway. And the new tileset was probably necessary to keep with the island feel, because y'know, Sunken Ruins, Islands. |

First of all congrats After Shock, great map!! Your on the blizzard friend list too, god damn, that means you get WoW Beta. Since I AM from the US I must agree that in these Blizzard contests we are overprivledged. Since over half the warcraft community is from another country it is insane they don't give contests to other people. Anyways, I am just about to check out DKs map and it looks very prettiful. [edit] In reply to Syguy or whatever, though blizzard has gotten the most out of this, they also have actually listened to the community, think about the companies that would hold these types of contests, and well I think getting your name in the Credits and on Battle.net for MILLIONS to see is the best prize of all. They of course look around at fan sites and probaly this site in paritcular. It's a breeding ground for staff for them ;-D GJ to all. |

About not letting non-Americans enter the contest (which I thought everyone was finally done whining about), it's very simply a matter of legal policy. It's prohibitively difficult to hold an international contest, because of the different legal systems of ALL the participating countries. In fact, the only reason that the non-international aspect of this contest even came to light is because Blizzard introduced the contest on their website and it was immediately posted on all the fan-sites and mod-sites, which are, of course, international. BTW, I'd be interested to see some people's maps that they submitted for this contest, although posting yours would technically be a breach of the contract you agreed to when you submitted it. Take that as you will. |

Did it ever occur to you that it might be a legal hassle to deal with international law just to implement this contest? From Blizzard's eyes it was not worth it, and I'm sure the only reason for that was the difficulty. You show me a company that WANTS to taint its international reputation and I'll show you a company that's going out of business soon. Regarding the maps themselves, Azure TD sucks. I thought they said they wanted only balanced/polished trigger maps? Also the Korea map is clearly only included to pander to the korean gaming community(oh, theres some more proof that Blizz thinks internationally.) |

I can't see anything wrong with the korea map. Both sides are well balanced. Its going to be an intense action map, not a creepfest. Just what war3 needs. |

Guest | Well if you guys haven't noticed, WoW will be a open beta(Meaning open to everyone) thats what i've heard. DK: Nice Map!! :ggani: but there is one tip, when you place all the creeps, you should select them all then hold down ctrl then click with mouse 1 for the direction you want them to face, but the map is awesome! it would have been a sure winner... o well goodjob! And download the original version of paradise islands here |

I agree that most of those maps weren't very good. And I can't believe they put in a TD map... but I've always been anti-TD. And for those of you who are complaining about only U.S. maps being selected, I think Blizzard doesn't want to worry about shipping things around the world if you win. And yes, I also agree that most Americans don't know/care about the rest of the world. Not something you normally hear from an American, but unfortunately its true... |

Very strange how a td got in, also extremely sad how its US only, the lesson I have learnt for TFT beta is to sign up as an American. PS Cool map daemonkilla, and the korea one does suck |
