I read the part about making the .blp into a .mcx but i still don't get it. I have this skin for the huntress, but I don't know how to see it as a model. I want to see it that way because I don't really like way it is with the parts in different areas as a skin. I made a folder in W3 called Textures and stuck the .blp in as huntress.blp, but I still don't see how to do it. I tried finding the huntress.blp in the .mpq but it isn't there.

Prophet, you´re probably reading some thing from the TGA header and I guess there is a small "bug" with your tool. Paint Shop Pro 8 add some things on the TGA Header and your tool says it is a invalid TGA file altough its fine (it´s not even compressed).

There is a very good TGA spec here: http://www.wotsit.org/search.asp?page=9&s=graphics
(The second one, TGA 2.0, 54K)

BTW, it would be nice if your tool coul also handle compressed TGA files. It´s not that hard to handle them, just a RLE compression.

Yes, the program is open source, but I have not released the source yet, but I will release it as soon as possible. I will clean the source and then release it.

Thanks everybody

Just look at the another thread, TheProphet has just answered you question. And for all the people, THE PROGRAM IS NOW TOTALLY FIXED NO MORE PROBLEMS!. Download it from the same place. We'll oficially release a new version very soon.

Edit by Starcraftfreak:
To avoid confusion, I merged the other thread with this one and afterwards I deleted it.

I just redowloaded it and it doesn't work for me still. My recolored archmage doesn't show up in the world editor, the only thing that shows up are team colors. Atleast you know the alpha channels work eh.

Huh? Impossible, try to download it again! And well, not it has midlle mouse scrolling capabilities for zoom, and french translation. If you are interested on traslating it to your language (german, dutch, spanish, italian, russian, whatever) just PM me.
I'll edit the help files with the new features ASAP.

The problem seems to be with the HeroArchmage.blp. I haven't tried them all, but that is the only one that has converted improperly.

Oh...
There was a problem converting non square BLPs. Don't believe KDEWolf, he is always drunk :ggani:
It is now fixed, you can download the new version.

Suggestions:
1) A batch file converter would be nice. If someone (like me) has created tons of icons in TGA format it would be a pain to convert them one by one.
2) Scripting support (maybe you know the MPQ2k scripting commands for WinMPQ). A convert command (you don't even have to make a scripting interface, just support for command-line arguments) would be the only one I can think of now.
Something like:
c[onvert] inputfile outputfile format [quality]
Parameters in [] are optional.

Yes, thanks.

We've already spoken about the batch conversion with KDEWolf, and I'll code it as soon as possible (that is to say after my remaining exams). And about the command line : I have already thought about it and I had the intent to code it...

I thought the program was fixed? There is still no textures on the trees...

Read the posts before Mav. Trees DON'T have textures at all. They're dinamically loaded on the models, so it's not possible to do it on the viewer.

Edit : now it is fixed :)
