Football Fever - Actual Football map

Okay, the way I'm going to make it is finalized:

1) To throw the ball, you must hit "P (patrol)" and select a target. It will create a small, invisible beacon that only the teammates can see. From there, the player will be replaced with an identical unit, that will attack ground the beacon with the attack art of a catapult. Then, it will quickly change back to a not-able-to-attack player. The way the ball will be detected is that the beacon takes damage. It will create the football on top of the beacon. The way incompletes will work is if the ball isn't grabbed by a 0.75 timer.

The reason why I changed it is that I noticed without mega JASS scripting (I don't even know 1 word of it), it won't be possible to do it like the game Baseball. I'm keeping it simple...

2) Field-goals will work by having a spinning timer on the top. It will switch from day to night, yes, but it is awesome. It will keep spinning, and when you click H, it will stop. Closer to the middle, the easier the ball will go for the points. Having the worst position for the spinner will result in a bad kick. And yes, this is VERY possible with crappy triggers that I always use.

3) The way the players will spawn is by getting on a region. I will have some way of detecting their position on the field, allowing me to create units based on offsets.

4) By any chance someone gets out of the field, it will detect that, and it will run the trigger in which creates units based on the place.

5) Fumbles... I don't really know, but maybe every 5 seconds or so, there's a 5% chance of fumbling and dropping it.

Thanks for all your comments. Heh, I MIGHT be able to finish it by end of next month or less. Then, I'll start on my Frozen Throne RPG :D

UPDATE: I have successfully been able to make 2 people play football catch. It was even what someone requested.

Simply, when you get your Player to touch a football, an exclamation mark comes up and the football is hid. Then, you can Attack Ground somewhere on the field and it creates a beacon. That is the target. It can also detect dickheads who targets out of the field :D ://// Although no one will do that emote_sweat Also, it's also a crappy idea to throw a touchdown football with no one there, 'cause the projectile speed is pretty fast!

Next step:

Put the timer of 0.75
Start making the actual game
Field-goal

This will be one of the hardest/only map that I have ever made. I'm incorperating on everything I've learnt over 1 year on crappy/incomplete maps. I better finish this one! I've gotten THIS far!

Wow, just wow. I want to be one of the first people to play it....Please let me play it, PLEASE. Is there a release date for your map yet? Do you have any idea how long it will take before you got it all worked out?

It should be done next month at the end. Then, I'll TRY to get TFT and make an RPG. I actually love the spinning-the-clock idea. It just popped outta my head.

Well, good luck I have been exactly where u are, with everything made up in my head, the perfect game!(the one listed in my sig) which i was to lame to ever finish since it was so damn buggy!

By the way this does seem great, but im a little confused on what you mean by the spinning clock, but hope you finish it soon!

And where can I find a baseball map to get a taste on how great this might be since you got your idea from it. BTW, could you post the two person catch?

Okay, just pretend the spinner clock depends on your power. You see how the dot keeps going around and around as night and day go by? Well, I'm using the dot as the power used. When you click "H", it will stop, and that determines your power.

Right now, Night is suppose to be the weak point. DON'T GET NIGHT MIDDLE, as it is 100% weakness. DAY'S MIDDLE is 100% power. I'm trying to get this ****ing thing to work, but... it's too hard! AHHHHHH!!!

Keep up the good work man! Sounds like a kick *** map so far. By the way, i know this sounds preposterous, but is there any way to do INSTANT REPLAY? I sincerely doubt it, but if so, that would be so:mtk:

THATS POSSIBLE!!!! You could have 3 different cameras locked to the ball, then when someone gets decked, you could make it so that it possitions the units back to were they were, and makes it do the same thing, from 3 different angles. With that on your map, you would be crowned king of all map makers. Id help you do that man, I think thats a most excellent idea.

Edit: Every .2 seconds of the game, you could make hte game set the points of all the characters to that point...With variables. Then you could make it so that in the event a unit gets clobbered, do the replay. Start the units from the spot they were at, 4 seconds ago, then make the unit that was running just do what it was doing, and the unit that was tackling tackle it. From 3 different angles or more. It would work! I bet anything that it woudl work mech-sheep. Dude, you need this in your map! YOU NEED THIS! Think it over...I could help you if you need it.

wow this map gets cooler with every post. :foot: hey for the around the clock kicking thing, you could make it reset to 0 dots at day time (6 am i think) right before it goes to night time (6 pm i think) and then the spinner will go around and when it gets 12 full it will jump back down to 0.

this way it will stay day-time and you can have it be most powerful at 12 dots, least powerful at 0, without having to worry about 2 different spinners. :D

and using the clock as a spinner type thing is one of the best ideas i've ever heard! hmm... maybe i should make a map that incorporates that into fights, like if you make the warrior strike right as its at 12, you get a critical hit or summthin

Wow...I know how to make hte spinner thing, but the cool thing that I wanna see put in is the action replay. I know its possible, i just know it. Teleport the unit back to the place it was 4 seconds before the impact, and make it do the same exact thing...It would be funny. But the only thing is......Theres really not any way to make units fly uncontrollably head over heals, is there? Because it would be funny to see a unit just totally get clobbered to the ground. You could have the action replay for if they score a touchdown too. And when the ball is kicked for a field goal, you can set off several different cameras while its in air, and what not. WOW...JUST WOW...GIMME GIMME...

Also, why's it gonna take a month? It seems like its almost done.....GOOD LUCK, I WANT A DEMO SOON, IM NEARLY DEAD HERE WAITING FOR IT!!!! :ggani:

hehe i can tell your tired, but it was a good post, even if it was a little sleep slurred.

football master!!! make the unit explode on really good tackles! (like if he gets the entire team piled on top of him, use the explode unit instead of kill unit! that'll make some cool replays! :ggani:

on the 3rd camrea view of the replay make it expode so u got real real real then EXPLODE :)
