Scio, are you planning on modifying the organization of the object editor? I hate the way bliz made it, and it looks alot better when it is properly organized.

EDIT: Scio, I have pretty much figured out all the UI modifyable data, if you need help with anything just give me a call.

I need to use UMSWE, but MY Warcraft 3 is installed in D:\Program Files\Warcraft III. My guess is that you made this to run from the default directory, AKA C:\. I will not do a reinstall to C:\ due to lack of space. Can you possibly make a version that workds under D:\, or even better, a version that asks you where your Warcraft 3 Directory is.
UMSWE loads your Warcraft III installation directory from the registry. Your warcraft 3 registry settings are gone, so you need to remake it (i) manually; (ii) by reinstalling WarCraft III.

1. Press start -> run, type regedit, press enter.
2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\
3. See if Blizzard Entertainment is in Software\, if not, right click Software -> new -> key, name the new key as Blizzard Entertainment
4. See if Warcraft III is in Blizzard Entertainment\, if not, right click Blizzard Entertainment -> new -> key, name the new key as Warcraft III
5. go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Warcraft III\, right click a blank space at the right panel -> new -> string value
6. name the new string value as InstallPath, and the data in it to your warcraft 3 installation path

You always needed to import the Doodads.slk into your map to have it work.
Although that doesn't work perfectly on bnet.

@ Scio: What I always wanted to ask you:

Why do you always include HumanUnitFunc and CampaignUnitFunc? They don't hold important editor information, do they?
Or did you fix a bug?
07-20-2003, 07:04 PM#41
Scio
@Mech-Sheep and Magias it SHOULD allow you to get to 90 degree cliffs, but under rare circumstances

@PitzerMike: Its a bug fix from 1.00 RoC they include a marine icon, but they use the rifleman. And some of the hidden units had problems that needed to be fixed.

Heh, I downloaded the file you posted on the second thread. I just wanted to say thanks 'cause when I tried to edit it, it corrupted my World Editor and forced me back to 50 degrees :(

90 degrees angle so good!

id love to use the editor, but my computer hates me. i open the zip file, extract all files to C:\Games\Warcraft III. i get no "units", "UI", or "doodads" folders. all that i DO get is a folder that says "UMSWE files" and "UMSWE3.7.exe". what am i doing wrong? i have no other editors installed other than stock WE. danke for any assistance

Scio
you shouldnt have UI Units or Doodads folders, those would be from other editors Just run the exe file.

wut are these 90 degree cliffs everyone is rambling about?

and: pls make options for:
no huge/mini doodads
no all units in one list (i like the campaign divided up thingy)
and all creeps tileset specific

and i can help you make the untill loop if i was talking about before if i can figure out how to add triggers.
