well, those people aren't going to be the ones playing fps mod, are they? look at the polls. arrows have popularity. we must have old-school fps gamers here since a little over half of us say we want arrows :gsmile: Quote:
to whom is that directed... if it is me, i think you are mistaken. the majority says arrows. i don't see why people always try to say wasd makes people better players. the people who are better players are the ones who: -play all the time -know their control scheme better than the back of thier hand -have aiming perfected control scheme has nothing to do with one's ability to open a can of whoopass. the thing that determines that is the player's skill |

I censored those Bozo, fyi. Getting around the censors may seem cool, but there ARE a lot of young ppl around here that shouldn't see it. Not my opinion, just Teh Rulez. :D |

Crouch is much better at the left CTRL spot because of the fact that you can crouch jump. Seriously how could you crouch jump using just your thumb? |

Well, i think we should just use both unless there is an easy way to do it so that people can use their own controls, but i still prefer wasd, becuz i find it more confortable, but i think we should really try to make a way so people can do their own controls, becuz i prefer to "C" for crouch, space bar for jump, and shift for run/walk if we are gonna have that (Run walk is very useful when rounding a corner, so u can sorta peek. Also will we have lean to the side cuz if anyone has played Army Ops (A really great completely free FPS made by the us army, i would suggest getting it if u like Rogue Spear, but not quite as stealth based, more like large squad based online fun, its really great, lots of cool features like going prone [thats not to common yet in FPS's], leaning to the side for shooting while only revealing a little bit of ur body, and u can lean while crouching and while prone, and when prone u amry crall and when u "lean" u roll to the side, very usefull, i rolled down an entire hill once to avoid gettin shot to pieces. anyways, they have a very nice control scheme and alot of nice, original ideas, like report position, tells people where u are in a map [pre-defined locations, like central peak, noth valley, things like that] and it has hand signals, plenty of pre-made messages that are voice acted and special squad leader only things, like an extra set of voice messages, binoculars, and having a rank insignia that floats over yer head, and evreyone can use hand signals, and u can do parachute missions where u can jack up ur paradrop and fall to ur death, and lots over kool stuff, i no i just sounded like i was advertising for them, but i think u should seriously try the game and use their controls, they are very good and the game overall is a more realistic counter terroris type game [US army vs Terrorists with AK's] and one other thing, u can go prone with the SAW machine gun and stick out ur bipod, that kicks ***!) |

I did play that game, but I think UT 2003 is better only IMO though. Also, if anyone complains or yells at sumone else that prefers using different controls, they will be warned from now on... |

i don't mind people saying their opinion, but when they start acting like their way is the "1337" way and the other way is the "sux0rz" way, then i simply do it back to them. it is called the golden rule, and it would be absolutely beautiful if everyone actually tried it once in a while. |

I usually only read these forums.. but this "poll" is something I have to put my 5 cents into. I used to use arrow keys, and playing guitar I know about moving fingers in awkward positions but I have to say that using arrow keys is pretty damn uncomfortable. I started using WASD because I was tired of changing the default controls at public places to arrow keys, and since I started using WASD I havent played with arrow keys simply because of how uncomfortable it is to play using arrows. As for the mod, I would suggest including both because frankly alot of people prefer arrows.. and I personally won't use arrows unless my life depended on it. This argument is a bit childish, and it is all a matter of preference.. but I have to say that for me, WASD is alot more comfortable. |

I think havin both or editable controls is the best, cuz if we choose one or the other, people are not gonna be happy... |

Dead-Inside CS configuration on controls: Movement: Arrow Keys (Leftarrow, Rightarrow, Uparrow and Downarrow) Fire 1: Left mouse button Fire 2 (Secondary): Side-buttons (Both, it's a little slow, not good for knifing) Jump: Right mouse button Crouch: Ctrl Walk: Shift Change weapons: Mouse Wheel Regards Dead-Inside |
