I don't get this really...... In the next version you can convert the terrains from a PUD to a W3M???? And in future versions you shall be abel to convert SMC(or whatever they're called) to W3M???? |

I think you got it. :) You run my editor, open a PUD (Warcraft 2 map) and you can edit it and save it as a W3M (War3map) that you can play with War3. Right now, it only converts the ground, not the units and other special stuff. It converts mountains as cliffs and that's a big difference with War2 since moutains can be exploded in War2 but cliff can't be exploded in War3. I got a rock model from Samsuffy that I'll try to use (as a doodad) to convert mountains correctly. If people converts the tileset textures to BLP, I could also include the "new" ground in the map instead of using War3 tilesets. |

Is this editor compatible with blink and the trigger editor? And can i expect it to have a reasonably low amount of bugs? |
| 09-18-2002, 05:08 PM | #41 |
Well, my editor edits War3Maps, then, think about your question again... If you have a text file, you can open it with Notepad, Wordpad, Word and even Excel,... Then you edit it and save it and it's still a text file. Unless you explicitly saved it to another format. You get what I mean? About the bugs, I dunno. I know only a few minor bugs and nobody reported them at the moment. Dunno if there are big bugs though. |

If I'm right, you open war3.mpq with WinMPQ and you extract the file: "\Doodads\doodads.slk". Then the first field called "doodID" is the one which is used by my editor. Try to find the one you're looking for there! ;) |

Guest | Zepir, for your next version do you think you can implement .wpm importing/exporting? Save me the hassle of having to do it manually. :) And much thanks to you for your tileset modifying ability! I wasn't able to import the snow tile from Northrend with the default WE, but now my mountains look much better! Thanks! Take care. |

NP. About the .wpm import-export, I'll add an option for TGA import-export. All the convertion code is there, it just need the menu implementation. BTW, I hope you tryed the auto-pathing tool (called "Reset Pathing"). Anyway, have fun! I'll work again soon on my editor. |
