Heroes higher than level 10

Using the war3 directory structure will work. But it is not the best sollution. As for having a skill upgradeable more than 3 times , i agree with you, slks just have 3 slots. Well, you can create 2 skills, one for 1-3 and one for 4-6 using the same base skill. Skills are using alias by now, that's how blizz gets the usual endurance aura for the Tauren Chefian and another endurance aura for items. They use the same base skill but with diferent data.

Hmm.... there's got be some way to get higher than level 10 heroes while only altering the map file >_<

I think I'm going to let them exp normally to level 10, and then disable the experience system have it start dumping the current gold (bounty) into current lumber, and use that to measure how much exp they've gotten, and setup a formula in the triggers to determine how much health/mana they should get per level....

But can their strength/agility/intelligence continue to go up? :p

Data if you disable xp system at level 10 the hero reverts to level 1.
Solution make sure the guy always has a slot free for tombs each time he levels you give him a tome use it instantly give him a tome use...
At level 11 you set his max hp to like 110% or something. Anyway GL currently I'm hoping they allow you to load MISCDATA from a map file which will alow more things to be edited.

The problem is that it affects the whole of war3, so is loaded when the program is loaded, not when the map is loaded. For any maps I do im just going to write a little installation program that will put in the files in the correct place, and then remove them when they want to play a normal game.

there is one out by stonedstoopid, read the main page of this site :D it is included in the new slk pack and it should work for all versions, even for you (basically it just changes the directory's the game can read which you edit, so it can also be used for your work, as the folders name is basically the same)

Somewhere there is an slk file which simply says what data there should be for each unit - hopefully theres one for abilities, and it can be modded to allow higher level skills.

hmm im not sure, but unitmetadata.slk in the units folder can offer sme unexpected surprises. But NOT that kiind of surprises. AS for now, editing the gameae.dll seems the only way

hmmm if it is possible, change the heros form to another hero when he reaches lvl 10 (like a reincarnation of a second hero) triggers are really easy not that hard...

Yeah, but getting skills to carry over properly WOULD be hard :p

making custom skills arent stable would likely make the game crash, but cookie had managed to make a summon zombie skill, which is i think based from the summon infernal....

Making summoning spells is easy - just look in abilitydata.slk or whatever its called and for each of the summoning spells there is a field which holds the unit code of the unit to be sumoned - simply change that to have a different unit.

No you can't.
I hope someone figures out how to enable 255 upgrades, cuz otherwise it's goodbye to Zone Control and lots of other fun SC UMS games :(.
Can you make new skills in a specific map? If so, how?

You mean Ozubkoj's Zone Control?! I DO NOT count that as a proper zone control; it sucks, it's stupid, always was, always will be. So did the SC version.
(Not all Ozubkoj's zone control maps are called that; but they're the same.)
