other than that i can do a bit of skinning but i dont think im that good
i dont think custom models will be needed for this as was previously suggested we will use the POTM tiger model for all of the lions

i am also expretised in creating 'custom everything' in the actual world editor... Importing is no problem since in my other project "Upper Kingdom - 12 Races" I had a lot of importing hero and glow and crap issues that i always seem to overcome.. Other than that i just need a skinned Tiger that looks like Simba and one thats like Scar and one like Nala.... then the icons which u have offered and i have PM'd you... I will do the rest but right now its the end of term at skool and i have a crapload of assignments so maybe in about 3-4 days ill be able to work on my WC3 projects

heheheh.... i finished the first paw icon for you. this is an ingame screenshot to prove it works. for some reason... this icon took me particularly long to add ingame. i will not give u the icon yet, though. i'll give it to u when i finish the rest. and yes, i am getting to work right away on the rest of the paw icons.

hey. i got all 5 paw buttons now. here's a map that all can play with the buttons in them. if ur gonna steal using the screenshots, plz give me credit for the buttons if you choose to use them. have fun. this is an ogre slayer's map.

anywayz dont worry about brightening the paw in the screenshot they were too dark but in war3xtest thingie they were awesome... i have created a primitive inauguration of pride rock and am currently creating the beginning cinematic... i cant get a bunch of different animals with the circle of life playing in the background but ill do my best

I didn't read the posts from the other guys and I have to say this =\ Lion King is one of the best (the best in my opinion) movies disney has ever made with great music and everything. However making a campaign of it sounds like a bad idea =\ I would rather see a new LK game (like the one for snes) But if you are going to actually create this I will be there trying it out =)

@ tichondrius. i know i said i would not be post here anymore, but im getting real tired of all the negative reppoints, not even the fact that theyre negaytive, people atre entitled to theyre opinions, but comments like you ****ing looser, are not very imaginative.
Firstly as ive said in a number of PM's my statement was for the most part a joke, im not about to be purging anyone quite yet. and anyone who did take it litteraly, you need to seriously consider thinking before speak.
I will now explane why the lion king is a bad idea, which i didnt do entirely adiquatly in the last post.
Its a childrens film, and therefore aimed at children.
The plot and dialouge, are degned specificly to be emotionaly stimualting for children, once you get over the age of 11 (at the absolute maximum), you should no longer get the emotional responce aimed for by the production company. if you do then you are as easily emotional responsive as 7 or 8 year old. this is in no possable way a good thing.
For all of you who insulted me on being a facist, how about next time you learn what the term means before you say anything. Where as suh political and racial facsit like hitler hated jews, my belifes go as far as being ver disapointed in those who have i judge as bas taste. and for the moron who assumed i am a fan of holywood homocide, when i wish to watch a decent film, ill watch something like the shawshank redemtption, not the midless tripe you assumed i did, just because i dont hold the same opinion as you.
As i imagain at least one person will have something to say about this post, i sujest you put a thread in the off topic forum, and PM me about it.

Oh yeah, about the campaign, even though the movie was aimed towards children, I say go for it, even if you might not complete it. At least its something to keep you from being bored.

Can someone please cast 'finger of death' and then 'banish' Gitlich permanently... You are putting forth the same argument as before, and im getting bored of it... And for those of you who want to know about the campaign, i have made a reasonably good skin of Mufasa and am know doing Simba ^_^ . I'm quite sure you won't be that dissapointed Arthas, we plan to make it as good as possible.

If this becomes a successful campaign I will go for a Lion King 2 campaign even though Lion King 2 aint that good its still part of the story. g3m1n161 is going extremely well with the icons, so a big thanks to him :D :D .

If you want to see the Mufasa skin you can PM me, there is one problem with it, it has fangs like the PotM tiger but other than that i think its good.

The original Lion King was very good, but then I don't like how disny ruins everything. They made cinderella look all , as with the Chinese in Mulan.

you know... he's already stopped, ppl, so dont give anymore negative rep points to him. perhaps he was the lead offender, but he's already had enough people flame him. just give him a break ^_^.

o ya, and tichondrius- i'm learning 3dstudio max. so that means i might be able to model- after many years of practice... but the bad thing is that the icons will not be guaranteed to be finished. you might have to find another iconner... i'm really really sorry. but i might get the ethereal mufasa and some other stuff. tell me when you want the paw icons. if someone else becomes an iconner, plz make him post the icons he's finished. that way you don't get any duplicates. i look forward to your response ^_^. and how did you like those paw icons? good? bad? i thought they were sort of plain. though i don't do textures or anything like that- i can make freehands for you- but nothing that has to do with lion king ^_^ (i'm bad at lions! but i do like the lion king's animation...).

g3m1n161 the paws were great but dont worry bout making too much icons.. if u could just do the ability and upgrade icons thatd be enuf as I will probably just cut them out of the Lion King DVD that i got recently


I am pretty surprised that this thread has got so many views ^_^

I'd like to make a suggestion:

Instead of retelling the story of the Lion King, which was written for a different media (film instead of game), you could make the campaign cover a different time in the Lion King world. This is actually a common practice in fanfiction - it should work fine for fangames as well.

See, what you do is imagine a different time that would be more condusive to your media. The media you're using is the warcraft engine, which deals best with an army of generic no-name characters as well as a few named hero characters (The lions, maybe). The warcraft engine would work best covering a time of war because, well, that's what it does. So - can you imagine any time the lions might have to go to war with anybody? maybe the hyenas?

So now you have a war (lions vs hyenas) at some point in time in the lion king universe. now all you have to do is fill the plot in with interesting twists (Maybe the hyenas used some sort of ancient magic to revive some of the mammoth skeletons - that would be an awesome unit) and find a reason for them to go at it. Work with the engine instead of against it, and everything falls into place.

BTW: I think the reason that everyone's against this idea is that there is very little 'combat' in the lion king movies. a very big part of the first one is simba running away and living peacefully (What the hell kind of mission would that be?) If you had a storyline that seemed to fit WCIII's engine a little better, I'm sure people would be more tolerant and open to your ideas.
