This is the best rpg ever. I like everything! The only problem is that I can't finish it. I find a stupid gate with all these levers and the obolisks and........yes I know, I'm lost completely and I kind of like it thought I would like to finish it. Is there some kind of stratigy manual for this so I can be unlost :( ?

Go through Dilbur Mountain. That would solve your problems.

if u wanna puzzle at this; stop reading now.. but im gonna throw in this spoiler, cuz it is a rather confusing "puzzle". the cave has 2 entries, one before the mountain, on on the other side of it. The first has a bunch of levers, the second the gate itself, plus some clues.
Now personally I was led to believe (as I assume all of u getting stuck here) u need to know exactly what levers u must switch for which u must find the right clues.. the only 2 clues u will find however is "eleven" and "three switches"... now of course after this all of u (like I did) will waste a whole bunch of time looking for clues to the other 2 switches...
but there are none.
all u need to do is throw 3 switches in the first cave and make sure one of them is "lever II"
then the gate opens, u get all thrilled about what marvelous landscapes u will run into next, and u will be presented with a "to be continued" message.
Normally I'd say, go forth and puzzle, but this puzzle is too confusing. Its only natural to assume all 3 levers must comply with certain numbers (like in any game of this sort is usually the case), and since the 2 parts of caves are so far apart experimenting is waaay to time-consuming, making this a bit frustrating. In such cases it be better to just throw in 2 more obelisks with the last clues or something, cuz its these kind of frustrating puzzles that can ruin rpg's (or any game for that matter.. i've quit otherwise very entertaining games in the past for such reason)
I just solved this puzzle by just throwing 2 random switches and see what happened, and voila!
So maybe it should be advise for |]arkOne to keep such details in mind for next part
:>

Also it would be nice to see more custom models (although there are few good ones suiting the athmosphere)
And personally, if the game HAS to be turnbased, then it might be nicer to have it like crono-trigger, where u actually see enemies standing/walking where u are to be sucked into combat (so if u are in a hurry, u can avoid some stuff), cuz those battles popping up out of nowhere is what I considered the most annoying part of final fantasy games. But still, damn, what a totally sweeeeet battlesystem. Im still amazed by it.
Awesome

You dont actually need to get the switches right, if you get them wrong you fight 2 guardians which are fairly easy and the gates open anyways.

Yea I agree that the guardians were too easy.. lol You guys get to level 10 or 15 for this fight when during my testing I was like 7 or 8. I should have added a minor player level factor like in ff8(a MINOR factor tho :D ).
The puzzle is very easy for some people and is very hard for some others. But since you don't actualy have to do the quest, I removed most of the hint.
You probably "talked" to a post sign near the mountain telling "gate control room to the north" at first you were probably "WTF is that control room? I'll continue to the mount".

BTW, the purple wolf (or the "OMG 3 fucking purp wolves, gotta escape... flee failed.. shit i'm dead") is the real challence for pro. ehe I wonder how they are when you are at level 15 :/

Anyway, I'm happy that you appreciated the project even if it was buggy(for some people) and short. The challenge of this project was to create something new and original(compared to several other war3 mod). The fact that I had to concept and code most of my systems because they were never seen before didn't help, it's probably the main reason of why the game was that short (this and me alone doing all the direct work on the project).

In the future, I think I will mostly do demo map that will more directly help modders.

3 purple wolves is crazy, i tried to run but it failed about 3 times.

the cave is easy, i toddled around, looked at a few clues, had no idea what they meant, accidently trod on the switch and, kaboom, i win.

yeh default, that guys definitly missed the whole point of this campaign. Prolly some 12-year old who didnt have the pleasure of growing up with final fantasy from the very first game and stuff. Anyone can make a rpg using the regular wc3 control. This rpg is just simply a work of art. And I just looooove using keyboard for a change. Key-control aint ancient; its oldschool! And oldschool owns! No corny mouse can replace that feeling of keyboard control!

What would be awesome to see as a next step would be a zelda-like control, with keys to move and space to strike or something ^^
Yeh,
all respect to l]arkOne here for this awesome interface/control conversion! (I just cant get over it.. so freakin' awesome.. maaan...) ^_^

Hey Maturity != Age. Age discrimination is so bad.
Also, this does resemble an incomplete system I put up about a year ago or so... the keyboard controls, the random encouters, and the loading of certain "templates" for enemies to be on.
That's about all the similarities though. Just wanted to know if you took any inspiration from it (I would feel so honoured... lol).
And I mean, look at all the benefits of keyboard control man! If you keep insisting that this controls suck and you want mouse control, you're either resistant to change or don't have a keyboard.

that was kind of fun. Took me my second try to figure out i needed to buy something at the blacksmith. after i bought the swords i never had a problem. I think i fought tripple dire wolves with only the use of 1 or 2 pots. I don't even think i even used all 6 potions it started me off with. I think the blacksmith should have been closer to the castle gate. i didn't even know it exsisted until i scoured the city.

aside from the bad grammar, it's really good.
