No, i know you are always stuck with the original spells,
but like in RoK was done, they used a healing potion ability,
for a new hero spell..

and what i understand from the editor is that you can only edit
the existing spells.. But what if i want to add a spell that heals like in Rok, i would'nt have a healing potion anymore..

That just my point :)
we can change then to a degree with DoD's programme..
but only editing the old spells, is kinda restricted..

Dont get me wrong, i love the idea that he is doing,
but when you say its for the noobies (the beta!) to change the
vars and such, it a great idea :)

I mean some people just want maps with a 1000 damage blizzard >:) (j/k)

And like i posted in a diffrent thread, you can use a template for "new spells" (and then i mean, spells with the same Code, but diffrent Alias and uber code) of all the availible spells..

Sorry about the time confusion, I'll be releasing it at midnight my time (-6:00 GMT).

This will not add new spells, but just modify the existing ones. I'll be releasing a newer one sometime at the end of next week (maybe Thanksgiving ;) ) with spell adding..

OK, I redid the loading and whatnot.. Here's how it will work...

There's a load and save button, they will load or save to a slk of your choice.. And then there'll be another button 'LoadFromMPQ' that will load the slk from the MPQ file. There'll also be a 'SaveToMPQ' button, but this will have uber warning around it, to make sure that you don't mess up your war3patch.mpq and have to redownload it. And last, a 'ResetSLK' that will reset the AbilityData.slk file in your war3patch.mpq file.

How does that sound, anything else that you guys would find essential?

That button 3 and nothing man they sure are tempting....
I think you should include some feature which allows you to specify which mpq (as in which map) it choses to add the file to and when you click "new Mpq" or something to that extent it should rip it straight of the Mpq.
Also I'm not sure but talk with Zepir he can tell you how to maximize compression levels so that you add the SLK as compressed as possibly.
