Bleh . . . forgot about this in the throes of Spring Break. Humblest apologies and all that. I hope we haven't lost ArchingBlades, or this thread may very well just die.

If you want in, Fladian, I suggest you join Thenaius at the city, he needs the help, anyway. You don't need to know too much, anyway, from that point - my elf wizard will be happy to fill you in on the important parts if you come along. As to why some of us are running two characters at once, it was something we tried when the first person left . . . of course, now there are just too many to play the parts of everyone personally.

"Wonderful, just wonderful, we got monsters pouring out and monsters pouring in."

Siroff glanced at the demoness for a moment. She was staring at something, as though furious, surprised, or whatever it was that demons looked like when they recognized someone. Fortunately, demons appear to be pretty focused when they stare - Siroff had no trouble leaping forward and knocking her back with the butt of his sword. The few Unwaking she had attacked earlier lept upon her now, ravaging her flesh with their razor sharp claws, but Siroff knew better than to think she was down for the count.

"Firessa! You know how to cast an incantation or two - can you shut this portal down?!"

He got no answer - Firessa was already muttering a spell of some sort. A gleam of new magic flickered over the portal, but there appeared to be no change - until several incoming Unwaking slammed into an invisible barrier, scrambling around the portal and trying to find a way through.

"I can only block it for a few minutes, Siroff!" Firessa shouted, backing up. She certainly had a reason to back up, as well - the dozens of Unwaking who had failed to escape into Azeroth now turned upon the one who blocked their way, shouting cries of lost hope and despair as they ran with feral agility at their new prey.

"Oh, no you don't!" Siroff cried. He started running towards the undead even as he started to change form, then flying, as he became a hippogryph, snatching up a pair of the Unwaking and dragging them high into the air, then flinging them away. "That should take plenty of time to recover from!"

On the ground, Firessa drew her katana and assumed the battle stance as Cania launched arrow after arrow into the unfazed beasts. Feints would be useless - these creatures had nothing to fear from wounds, and knew it. She needed to be on the defensive . . .

A resounding boom shook the forest, and Firessa blinked to see the body of a huge kodo replace the Unwaking. As the giant kodo beast slowly shrank, taking the form of Siroff once again, Firessa discovered that the undead hadn't disappeared - they were underneath him, crushed by the weight of the form he had assumed above them.

Siroff didn't look to well either, rubbing his ankle before standing up and moving it about gingerly. "Okay, maybe crushing them from above wasn't my best idea," he admitted, wincing as he put some weight on the wounded foot.

"Well, it did buy us some time," Firessa replied. "Now what can we do?"

"Something activated this portal . . . something on the other side. We need to destroy it while remaining on this side before the Unwaking return to life, and we have to remove Firessa's spell to do it, which means we'll have to deal with the demons as well."

"Is that all?" Cania asked.

"Your sarcasm is duly noted."

OOC: Oh, but you haven't lost me! Fortunately for myself! :) But I will be busy all through year though... With the new year beginning, I had to readjust myself to the overwhelming amount of HW as well as the time 'lost' in tuitions... In addition, here, in my country, we have several public holidays during the first 3 or so months so... I was kept busy until I could find a good balance... So overall, I mean that I won't be posting often... And I also feel so rusted that any piece of work of mine feels boring... :(

IC:
"One problem, though, is that if ever the Unwaking here recover while we're fighting out way through the demons... We'll be squashed in between two fearsome forces..." Firessa stated thoughtfully.

"And what we'd need is either a trap behind us, to deal with the Unwaking, or a machiavelic scheme, to deal with those demons quickly..."

"I vote for the offensive..." Siroff said with some hesitation. Weighing the scales, it was true that the least time spent with such company was the better. But then, the problem above would be the same.

"Me too," Firessa agreed. They each glanced at Cania. She seemed hesitant, as if something was bothering her about those demons.
Finally, she said, "I... aquiesce(sp?)..."

She did not have the choice anyway... The others' votes would have weighed against her.

It was time. "Ready?" Firessa asked, somewhat nervous about the way all that might turn out to be.

The planning of their scheme had not been easy as they always feared about the time they actually had, either before the Unwaking recovered or before the blockade crumbled. But finally, it was done.

Firessa began the undoing of her magical blockade.

Cania could feel the fear weling up inside herself as Firessa began to lower the baracade blocking the portal. She could feel something very powerful approaching the town on the other side of the portal.
"Cania, a couple lightning arrows may stall those demons long enough for you to run away."
"Not likely Tael, and I only have enough strength to use maby two or three, and still be able to flee from the demons..."
Cania gave a quick pause as she finished counting the number of demons, including the one she could not recognize.
"There are also too many demons to fight, let alone win, against, not including the unwaking."
Cania planted an arrow in the middle of an unwaking's head as it approached Firessa. She then began to speak, the other two could hear the fear in her voice.
"I can distract the demons for a moment or two, long enough for us to...run."
As she said this she pulled an arrow from her quiver. The other two could see the llightning rippling across the arrow as she laied it across her bow. They both noticed how slowly she was doing this, and that the arrow glowed brighter the longer Cania took, and that another arrow was glowing in her quiver.
................................................

The succubi noticed that the three seemed to be preparing to come through the portal, thus they began to spread their wings. they were still looking at the human, hungrily.
.............................................

Edit: this is what im adding

The demoness was angered by the creatures that attacked her. She ripped one to peices with her tenticles. Another one she threw to the side, it went right through the wooden wall of a building that was still standing. The last one was thrown against the ground, and had a tenticle peircing its head.
Takilarae was not worrying about the scratches she had on her body from thease creatures, she could heal them later when she fed on a couple slaves they had obtained from this town.
Her attention was directed back through the portal when she was finished with the unwaking. Light was coming off an arrow on the nightelf's bow; Takilarae noticed it when she saw the nightelf.
"Assassin, finish thease creatures quickly, our target is coming to us."
As she finished saying this, the unwaking she had thrown through the building was attacking her again. Getting to the portal quickly was not an option, but she could feel the demon lord, and sorcerer approaching. The demoness was not worried about loosing her target.
........................................................

The demon lord, and the sorcerer were not in a hurry to get to the town, they already knew where their targets would run if they escaped. Their conjured imp scouts had found the clostest large city. they were willing to take their time.

OCC:Im also starting to draw a picture of Cania. It may be a few weeks before I finish it; but when I do can i post it here?

(Meanwhile, in Raignaton)

Everything was assembled. He had food, soap, water, his spellbook and scrolls . . . everything. As a cautionary measure, Thenaius began patting the many extradimensional pockets within his robes. A mental image of the contents came with each touch. Collapsable tent, sleeping bag, latern, tinder, flint, oil, old wilderness survival manual . . . . yes, it seems everything's in order.

Except for Gazz, the others had disappeared into the crowd. Thenaius had tried to scry for them, but he had nothing of their possessions to use as a focus, and the city seemed to have protections set up too strong for a blind search, for reasons the elf did not understand.

Well, they'll just have to stay here, then. I don't have the time to waste looking for them. I . . . I only have one charge, now.

Thenaius covered a sigh and stood up from his place at the bar. It had been a slow night at the tavern; everyone was mourning the loss of one friend or another. Many tables went unused today, chairs still set atop them, waiting to be pulled down for the onsetting customer. Thenaius paused, wondering if he was the only one to have turned to alcohol to solve his problems . . . again.

"Thenaius? We can arrange for the finest wines to be brought to your quarters in the barracks, you know, you do not need to wallow in such . . . in such sordid conditions."

Thenaius turned to look at the speaker, the elf Karl'Vrynn, who had assumed the position of magistrate in the city with the death of Glakthul the dwarf. Theniaus had never liked Karl'Vrynn, and he Thenaius; one found the other haughty and arrogant, the other found the first to be a drunkard and a coattailer.

"Oh, Karl? You've never wanted me to stick around before . . ."

Karl gave a slight scowl. "That's because now you're a bit of a war hero now, Thenaius. If I want to keep the office I've stumbled upon, I can't be seen as blowing off the efforts made to save the lives of many dwarves, can I?"

"Well, you won't have to worry about it any longer. I'm leaving."

Karl nodded. "I know. Methias has been pestering me about it every day - "

"I'm leaving, and not with Methias."

Karl'Vrynn paused. "What? What do you mean, you aren't going with Methias. How else can you reach Quel'Thalas and - "

Thenaius was calm and disattached, thanks to the drinks he had imbibed earlier. "I'm not going to Quel'Thalas. I am going into the wilderness. I don't know how long I'll be gone. I may never come back."

Karl'Vrynn's usually harsh expression took on a icy sneer, "So, now the great vinnow Theniaus will go even farther to escape his past, eh? Now the drinks aren't working, so you'll run off into the wilderness?"

"I don't care what you think -"

"YOU DON'T CARE AT ALL!! You have all this power, this, this ability to protect, to destroy, to help everyone. And you used to do that, didn't you! But no, now that the Order's dead, you're just a sloth and a leech, aren't you!! Don't even give a damn if you're people are DYING to the east, so long as you have the Almighty Liquor, is that it!"

At the mention of Quel'Thalas' fate, Thenaius' blood ran cold. "Get out, Karl'Vrynn. You have three seconds."

"Don't think to scare me, Thenaius. Just because I don't control - "

Karl'Vrynn never finished the sentence, as a blast of magically conjured air sent him into the wall - and through it. Thenaius walked casually over to the prone high elf and looked down, devoid of emotion.

"Do not try to tell me what I cannot do, Karl'Vrynn. I have but one task left to live for now, and I will do everything to complete it."

Karl'Vrynn stared past the mage, unable to focus his eyes. He coughed up a little blood, but continued to look up, even as darkness was overtaking him. "So you . . . can't live . . . . for your people . . . . why? . . . . . . . . . ."

He blacked out just as Gazz appeared on the, covered in engine grease and shooting off little zaps of static electricity. "Alright, it took a little work, but my Tortoise Tracker 3.2.15 is ready for - coins in the fire! What happened here!?"

"I said goodbye to a friend." Thenaius replied. He reached into on of his pockets, drawing out a wine flask and drinking heavily from it before discarding it on the ground. "Let us begone with this place, Gazz. The buildings around here aren't very structurally sound."

Gazz felt a quiver run down his spine, but he led Thenaius to the vehicle he had just finished tuning up for transport. They were leaving tonight. There would be no one to stop them.

Not if Thenaius had his way with them.

SO MANY POSTS.

I wish I could be a part of this story, but I do not know where I could fit in. Plus, I couldn't keep up with the story so far, oh well.

I have a problem similar to Xiash :P My problem of not remembering names isn't making it much better either -_-

I have a feeling that several other RP-threads will appear at a certain moment though. If that is so, it will probably come to the point that more people will join this as well.
As a matter of fact, I mentioned something like that in If, and only if :P

Hmmm, ypu know Flad, I think I see a remedy to this, we make another rp story thread. Two threads, not connected in any way. Perhaps we could have the rp forum as a sub-forum. Let me know so I can start one.

That's enough of spamming the thread. I'll send a PM to you in a minute, Xiash.

How is it spamming? It directly relates to the thread. Anyways, I was thinking about joining this story or pehaps making a new one. Any objections to either?

Arching Blades
OOC: Remember, Kar is now under attack by Tir… That's some posts earlier since I last told her aventures!
Kar fended off the swords and swept the skirmishers from their feet. They would be fighting all through night it seems. A jab dodged, a man killed, a spear waving madly in the air, catching each man in close proximity almost unawares. Kar parried a slash. The swordsman stumbled backwards, giving Kar some time to catch a glimpse of her companion.
Tir and the masked stranger were fighting furiously. Tir swung his blade overhead but his opponent block it and jabbed him. The elf fell backwards. It was apparent that he had already received some similar jabs as he breathed hard, in obvious pain. The dark one, though standing tall and proud, had also sustained some wounds, some that looked major.
“Why do you hide behind that mask, coward? Tir roared, struggling to get up. He was tired and so was Kar.
“You have no need to see my face if you already know who I am… the dark one replied fiercely.
One of Tir's swordsman attacked him from behind. One moment he had been standing tall and proud, the next, he was on the ground, gathering his strength like Tir. He swiftly turned over to hit the sword away from its target. Then the dark one threw a vial at the man, who burned to ashes in the next seconds.
The dark one knew his tricks and knew how to hide his state of mind, his weaknesses.
“I'll rip off that mask of yours! Tir roared. Artificial winds began to blow and soon, so hard that it began to cut like a sharp blade's edge. Kar jumped to the ground, minimizing the wind effect on her but the dark one did not have time for it. The air slashed at him, tearing the cloth to shreds until the mask had been completely ripped apart. He fell to his knees.
Shock shot through Kar as she made a move to stand. It was impossible. It simply could not be…
“Yes, Karazai! You are not mistaken! This is your friend! This is your love! This IS KOL ARONOS! Tir shouted, laughing like a maniac.
Why did he not want to tell her? Pain ran through her as the back of a sword hit her in the back of her neck. She fell to the ground, unconscious.

OOC: The hit was from the swordsman at the beginning, just before Kar started to witness the dark one's battle. It is Kol, yes. I had planned it that way. Any of you remember that little detail of Kar using a ruby back BEFORE the battle of the dwarves? This is the reason, further to be explained later… And Xiash… If you'd like, you can take control of Kol… I don't feel like controlling 3 characters now! 2 is far enough! And welcome to new members! ;) Erm, if you don't know who Kol is, read the beginning of the story… Might come in handy for anyone!

The barrage was down! Firessa and Siroff jumped through the portal, a bright arrow whistling past them. They were closely followed by Cania who immediately began preparing another strike. The plan should work… It should…

OOC: Dun really know what to add to the plan... I don't know the demons that well! :P

Cania's arrow struck the demoness in the sholder. As soon as it struck lightning began juming from the arrow across her, and to any creature near her. The demoness was forced back, and to her knees, as she screamed in pain and anger. The unwaking that were struck were thrown away, charred, as if a Tauren had just thrown them with all its might.
In that instant Firessa, Siroff and Cania had gotten through the portal. As soon as she stepped through, Cania released her next lightning arrow. It was aimed at the nearest unwaking group, the ones attacking the demon assasin.
The arrow truck an unwaking square in the back. That unwaking was thrown forward, tward the assasin. The demon dodged the unwaking, but could not dodge the lightning coming from its body; It was thrown through the nearest wall. A single succubi was struck by one of the bolts, It fell from the roof of the building it was pearched on, dead.
"Run!!!" Cania yelled as her second arrow hit. She burst into a full sprint in the same direction that the other two were going.
Cania knew the arrow would not keep the demoness stunned long, she had no idea what it would do to the other demon. The sound of the succubi taking flight als reatched her ears as Cania ran.

OCC. For the demons im making some of it up as i come up with ideas when i write. But the higher classes (Demoness, Demon lord, and the assasin) are extreamly hard to kill.
