Two questions: 1. Will you be adding a method of allowing the player to choose which personality is used, and which slot they take? My GF rather likes playing alongside Remus, but cursed the next AMAI she had (Cybersomething?) and would like to arrange a partnership :) 2. How do you feel AMAI team work compares to the Blizzard AI in team games? My brother, GF and I are starting to beat the Blizzard AI pretty easily, time for AMAI to step up :) |

EDITOR BUG FOUND CLicking remove button then selecting "no do not remove" still removes the strategy. Kinda annoying if your mouse slips because you lose the strat whatver happens. |

That is strange because it works for me. The only reason I can see is that there is a problem with the different versions of Perl or different Windows versions. The code used is pretty simple. It opens that simple Yes/No message box and checks if the return value is 'no'. If it is then it returns. So maybe the message box returns something else in your case. |

Guest | There's something that still bothering me, about changing strategy, i played in insane mode in teams with AMAI players, at the beginning of the game my teamate said "Ill built hipporiders in mass" but in game that strat was never implemented cuz he kept on changin strategy, so I never know what exactly strat they use. I think its better to let the AMAI change strategy 2 or 3 times during the game so the strat they said they're gonna use could be done. And in commander mode, when i made them to change the strategy sometimes they do but mostly they dont!, but if i told them to built towers they certainly do it and make it in top priority. I think they should be do whatever the commander told em to do unless there's some reason they could not do it. In chat system, is that possible to add some chat dialog base on a race they use in game, and maybe they can brag about the power of their race hehe its gonna be cool. I heard that version 2.4 is about to be released. Great! Im looking forward to it. Thanks for AMAI teams for bringing ai games to life. |

Insanes are allowed to change strategies much more often since they have enough resources to benefit from that. they are better of always changing to the best strategy to counter the enemy force at once instead of waiting 2 minutes or more like normal skill computers. But maybe make them waiot a bit more with strategy changes if it's a team games is a good idea. |

Try the following: Remove this code from the beginning of the script: BEGIN{ if($^O eq 'MSWin32'){ require Win32::Console; Win32::Console::Free(); } } Then use the strategy manager and tell me if any error messages appear in the console window. |

I have installed the newest version of Perl now and it is a problem/bug with that one. That message box now returns 'No' instead of 'no'. That is easy to fix. The open/save file dialog also has a bug in it that requires a different structure in one of its parameters now. I have made a backward compatible fix though. |

Out yet? :) It's no good, my girlfriend, brother and I have gone from being trounced by Blizzard Easy to schooling Blizzard Normal in every game we play. We're feeling pretty chuffed, but we need AMAI to come take us down a peg :) |

Congratulations for your new forum , i thought you had disappeared he he.While waiting for the next AMAI release, i was playing again some good old classic starcraft (no broodwar) skirmishes. It suprised me to notice that the starcraft AI handle island expansions, defend several keypoints, make good aerial drops, and use some interesting battle tactics very very well. Well, it has been a long time i did not played this game, and i am amazed to see that the starcraft AI can do more things and do them better than the warcraft 3 stock AI (of course micro management is less impressive in starcraft than in warcraft3). Honestly, i can't believe Blizzard wasn't able to implement at least the same AI features in Warcraft 3, and i say thank you the AMAI team to have found workarounds to offer some solutions to the lazyness of Blizzard. The stock AI lacks so much that it is making AMAI even more impressive. After touching again the Blizzard AI yesterday on warcraft 3, i wasn't able to have any gaming pleasure, AMAI is now what is giving me interest to my SP games. Take your time for AMAI, i like such polished work (while i hope to see it soon in the same time :) ) |
