I hope so too! It works ok in single player, but yeah, there's always the chance for catastrophe when multiple players are involved. I'm going to build in a few reset commands, in case players get screwed somehow (can't land or fly, get killed in an area they can't respawn in, get stuck inside of a building, etc etc etc). Obviously something I hope to not have to do, but for ease of playtesting, it's not a bad idea.

Just a reminder, I'll be running a beta test for my gargoyles map today at noon EST, on USEast in channel WC3C.

If you're late or can't make it right at noon, whisper biflspud (that's me on USEast, tricky, eh?) and I'll let you know what the game's status is (currently playing, nearly done, about to remake, etc).

If you can't make it today, no problem, I plan on posting the revised beta up here.

i dont know if this was a good thing or bad but the gaem seemed to rush you right into the action and confussingly throw you into situations but it was still a great map.
i ran into a problem my camera lock on lex so i couldnt move much and then the height buttons went wierd and i couldnt go up or down.
But still it was such a cool map great job Biflspud

I'll work on these things right away, thanks for testing it, you two. I should probably get something posted up here by Tuesday at the latest.

As far as the crime events, not all of them are going to tell you where they are. That'd be way too easy. Elisa may hear gossip about events, but not actually have a crime report. So you'll have to hunt around a little bit. The quest areas, like showing up at Pack Media Studios, *should* highlight itself - maybe I'll create a reveal effect at a quest region.

So yeah, lots of little corrections to make, particularly the "I've landed, yet I'm still in the air" problems. Will do.

Aww, it sounds so cool, and here I am stuck in my computer science lesson pretending I'm listening :S so Biflspud? is there an actual end to the map? it sounds like there was never a definate end to the series? so...how will the map finish?

None of the Goliath Chronicles episodes were particularly stellar; the last major plot event will be Hunters Moon; once that passes, I was planning on giving the players a synopsis of what they completed and what they didn't trigger/messed up on. There's not exactly multiple endings, per se, but a best case scenario ending where some plot threads were prevented (particularly the Mutates and Quarrymen) and others dealt with successfully (Deadly Force, probably Avalon's giant Oberon attack). After that, the players can keep on playing if they like, but there won't be any actual scripted events to follow Hunter's Moon.

So far, most of the bugs Aeon and Deomonos reported were corrected, excepting the rediculous Demona and Princess Catherine behavior during their cinematics - the latter had *never* acted up before, so naturally today she decides to. :nono: I'll put in The Mirror and probably City of Stone tomorrow and get a version posted for Tuesday.

i decided to test the map on single player and skipping to 1999 to see if this feature worked, everything went smoothly until zanatos was attack by those guys as soon as i killed them all nothing happened i made sure i killed every single one but still nothing, im gonna test the map on single player going through the start before the awakening to see if i can find any more bugs.

Hmm, just because the series didn't officially end, doesn't mean you can't come up with an ending by yourself. You should fiddle around with some stories that might wrap up the map nicely perhaps? Maybe the people of the city decide they want the gargoyles killed and the govt constructs a really big robot to destroy you. So that's the final boss, and the end cinematic could be the gargoyles deciding that yet again people don't accept them just like back in 994(was that the right year?) and they fly off in search of another place to live?

Ok so I've never seen the show, but I think that's a pretty good idea considering I have no real idea of the story. I'm sure you could come up with something better.
