Easy things first:

Set whole picture to grayscale. Then recolor layers. Black will always stay black if you're careful enough. If you arent, set another layer, make that layer overcontrasted, select dark colors and then cut selected out on the lower layer. Delete higher layer and voila. Doing such a recolor is preety easy if you take time (we own a printing press, thus I have huge experiences with recoloring bad things)

Now for the hard things:

A little mythology lesson for those who care read this. Those who don't, try not to comment this and simply jump down where the stars mark the end of lesson :)

don't u people have a lil imagination? ofcourse highelves have pupils damnit... without them they wouldnt able to see stuff (duh!) they just always have those glowy thingies around them and stuff... same for NE. i'm sure that when you would go and sit down with a high/bloodelf and have a cup of tea, you would be able to see thei pupils becouse they are not using much magic at the moment.

You're close. Actually it should be the spirit of an Elf shining with such power that their eyes would glow. Not all would have this ability, though (If you look at the Father of modern Fiction, Tolkien, he mentiones this property specifically with Feanor.

Hair color of a High Elf (as in the Noldor of Tolkien) would have to be darker (Black/Brown), but Blizzard have decided to use Blonde Elves. For some reason, however, they left Sorceress's hair brown (the reason is that she simply looks better with brown hair). How to explain that? Well, some sources claim she might be of Half Elven origin. However, we have never seen any Half Elves in Warcraft, just as we have never seen any Wood Elves (wich of course doesn't mean they don't exist, as you'll see in CaQT). However, based on my knowledge on hair genetics, I happen to know that to have blonde hair you have to possess recessive gene (or a good hair color :)), wich, when combined with a dominant gene (brown, black), would always turn out dominant.

Based on our knowledge of Night Elven hair colors (purple?, well, let's just say dark) it is almost impossible that the High bourne would come out blonde. There are two possible explanations: Either the High borne were blonde from the start and almost didn't mix with lower Night Elves or the blonde hair color is magical in nature. In both cases, however, we would end with a possibility of High Elves having dark hair.

The Lord, as a respectful student of Irish and Celtic history and mythology, I know that the Elves were part of their belief as the creatures of the Forests and the protectors of Good. But I cannot agree with you counting the Celts amongs the barbaric tribes. The celtic land of Noricum that existed on our lands (Eastern Slovenia & Austria), supplied Roman Empire with swords and other metalic objects that not even the middle age Europe could reproduce (with possible exception of Damascan steel swords, but since Damascus is in Lebanon...

Other than that, it's a cute recolor. I did a similar one a while ago, but I have to say this hair color, combined with her eyes, fits her better.

wow....this is funny....first we have a stupid pointless discussion about elves, and then we have a stupid pointless discussion about whether brunettes or blondes are betterand now were about to have a stupid pointless discussion about what name of a girl is most attractive...next its gonna be about what kind of shoes are better or suttin...im startin to think that this thread isnt about the lords art anymore(which kicks as.s)

Well, the main point was about elves so that doesn't matters at all. Although I'm very pleased you spent your time teaching me some history lesson. Thank you, I love norse and celtic people.
