it was cleared up by one of the blizzard members, from memory he said the Undead buildings were "summoned from magic, they dont actually come from anywhere, they just appear, i dont know why they need gold and lumber, but they do, so there." |

Ahh, ok. As for using gold and lumber, I guess they couldn't think of any other way to balance the game. I remember a looong time ago, back when WC3's production was first annnounced, I heard that the Undead were going to get some sort of resource for killing enemies. Perhaps this concept was softened a bit, and now transformed into how Undead benefit from corpses. But it'd be badass if the Undead ran solely off of killing things. I suppose that's just way to hard to put into balance, though. |

Well I think they use the gold and lumber for a few things. One - notice that the African tribes us symbols and relics, I suppose that the undead are much the same. They use the gold to make cool necklaces with the Lich Kings picture on them. They also make small statues out of the gold, a small representation of the building. The lumber is used to make a pedistal to hold the gold artifacts. This is then put in the middle of the ritual circle and consumed. Then the building pops up after the alotted time. Just a thought. |

woulda never though of that o_O |

unfortunately it is wrong tho, since the crafting of such artifacts took a long time and were usually quite small, requiring alot less than 300 kilos of gold (blizzard has confirmed this is the measuring amount) but anyway, why do UNITS need it? Answer = to balance out the game cause blizzard were lasy. |
