See, what you do is imagine a different time that would be more condusive to your media. The media you're using is the warcraft engine, which deals best with an army of generic no-name characters as well as a few named hero characters (The lions, maybe). The warcraft engine would work best covering a time of war because, well, that's what it does. So - can you imagine any time the lions might have to go to war with anybody? maybe the hyenas?

So now you have a war (lions vs hyenas) at some point in time in the lion king universe. now all you have to do is fill the plot in with interesting twists (Maybe the hyenas used some sort of ancient magic to revive some of the mammoth skeletons - that would be an awesome unit) and find a reason for them to go at it. Work with the engine instead of against it, and everything falls into place.

BTW: I think the reason that everyone's against this idea is that there is very little 'combat' in the lion king movies. a very big part of the first one is simba running away and living peacefully (What the hell kind of mission would that be?) If you had a storyline that seemed to fit WCIII's engine a little better, I'm sure people would be more tolerant and open to your ideas.

Sorry if that was a little long, buddy

Thats actually a great idea :D :D ... My campaign shall be changed into a more shorter one based around the time of Mufasa...

Any ideas will be welcome ^_^

Well, from what I know of the Lion King movies, the hyenas used to live with the Lions. They must have, at one point, been banished to the elephant graveyard. That presents an opportunity right there. You also have a conniving but not quite treacherous vizier (Scar hasn't totally betrayed anyone yet, but he's still bad). So Scar has reason to try to take Mufasa out like he does in the movie, but he doesn't succeed this time. He could rally the hyenas to his cause secretly and try to assassinate his brother. If he does, it would fail, and the hyenas would be cast out of the lion place. There's the campaign right there.

It also might be good to introduce new characters that serve as the players' view of the world. Mufasa is the King, so maybe a general or lieutenant that controls a small army and does missions for Mufasa. As the player succeeds, the character is promoted and given missions of increasing priority. (Think rexxar in the TFT bonus campaigns. he had contact with Thrall, but the player didn't control him, giving Thrall a commanding presence.)

Also, you've got a jungle full of units out there. Hippos, elephants, gorillas, and rhinos can serve as heavy melee, etc. Play the game Impossible Creatures for a few more ideas. :> A magic-using baboon similar to the troll heroes might make a very good Rafiki.

Characters (that may or may not serve as heroes) could include: a distrusting Cheetah that commands a group of cheetahs - the main character must work with them for a few missions, and the cheetah commander eventually learns to trust him, A cowardly animal that's good at sneaking around - you use him as a scout, but he doesn't appreciate it, and maybe a dim-witted hippo or gorialla that must complete several missions alone (with the maps being alternated like when arthas and sylvanas split up in TFT)

BTW: I'm not a Lion King nut or anything, I'm just trying to help you out. My tastes run a very different course. I don't want nobody gettin' the wrong idea.

Hope I've been helpful,

Um... I don't think tichondrius is around anymore. I have the icons for him, but they're dated, and I've been wondering when I should give them to him. Probably a dead project.

To tichondrius: if you ever decide to come back, I'll send you the icons. It's just that people fail to notice post times, so they post 2 months after the last one, bringing the subject back. And when I saw this thread on the top list, I was shocked, thinking that you were still active after 4 months in this project. It appears that you aren't but in case you are, I have the icons. Just send me a PM if you want them and I'll upload them onto wc3search or something, or zip them up and e-mail them to you. I just don't want unused icons on my computer...

I'm sorry but this project is dead, and this thread will be closed (both by request as common knowledge) if anyone has any need of this thread to be opened, contact me by PM.

A little off-topic but...
ShadowFury, even though you deleted your post, I was sleeping damn you :P I'm not here to close threads at midnight :P
