Hm.... ok, that probably makes more sense.... who's going to follow some unheard-of person unless they're paid? Although for some races, like the Empire, you might sign up to join the army and get promoted or something for being great. That kind of thing makes more sense for some races, but then we should decide all these things by group vote or something. I think. :\ Here's a map of the Old World continent; taken from the Warhammer rulebook. It's the best I could get for now. Anyway, races are located as follows: Humans of the Empire (mass infantry, some knights, war machines, wide range of mages) are, fairly obviously, found everywhere in the large area marked The Empire on the map. There are also some elves, dwarves, halflings (in The Moot) and ogres spread throughout the Empire. The Vampire Counts (undead) are to be found, at least on this map, in Sylvania. Brettonia (humans, French, lots of knights) is again in the obvious place. Wood Elves (similar to Night Elves) are found in Loren Forest. Dwarves are in the eastern World's Edge mountains. Orcs can be found pretty much in any mountainous area, along with a lot of goblins. Chaos Warriors, Marauders and Daemons are to the north of the map, in Norsca and the Chaos Wastes. This map only shows a very small part of these lands, they actually cover the entire top of the world. Daemons are found more frequently the further north you go. -edit- Forgot Beastmen, they can be found in the Chaos Wastes and in most forests. -/edit- Kislev is another human nation, closely allied to the Empire. The small, upside down triangle things mark Skaven strongholds. The Skaven are rat-men, using mass hordes of weak infantry, powerful magic and bizzare war machines. Estalia and Tilea are home to a wide range of mercenaries. Races not shown on this map: High Elves to the west of the map, Lizardmen to the very far west on a different continent, Lustria. I'm not sure where Tomb Kings (Egyptian undead) are in relation to this. Hope this is of help to those who don't have a lot of knowledge about Warhammer. |

The land of Nehekhara is not on there because they created the continent when they released the Khemri/tomb kings. |

Tomb kings are to the south, they share something with the skaven I believe. there is also another option btw the Tileans (Dogs of War) they include practicaly every race and go adventuring everywhere wich could make for much more varied gameplay. |

Ah right. Wonder where they came from before that? South of Araby probably, something important must happen on continent sometimes. Oh crap, forgot Dark Elves as well. They're on the opposite side of the world anyway. -edit- Tilea is very useful, yes.... it would give a lot of flexibility as well, the player could choose to lead a small band of elite fighters, like a Regiment of Renown, or lead a large army of mercenaries. |

as are lizarmen. there was also talk of an eastern empire in games workshops dark corridors but thats useless for now. ( man this thing moves fast) |

The eastern empire Cathay is mentioned in the rulebook, and I believe it is supposed to be like medieval China. I doubt they will ever make rules for an army from there, given that what is said about Cathay is monks that kill with a touch and very deadly ninjas. Which isn't much to base an army on. |

So what do we have so far. a single player Rpg type thing and...... |
| 06-15-2004, 07:06 PM | #55 |
ok i'm here people, someone can takeover until i can come back. ok it is a rpg where you start as a peasant or just a general low person and you have to build your way to the top. you can have a small warband with you, and the higher the level the more powerful the units you can control. all of you continue doing what you want for this, including modelling skinning and terraining and i will do the same. i doubt i will be back for a long time, but when i do i will have some stuff to show you all. i'll talk later ps if any of you have hotmail accounts then we can talk there and i can email updates bye :( pss yes your army leaders can be in this, as my high elven ones are likely to be. no one write about this post...shhh! |

ATENTION PLEASE. This is a message from Paul, "He ask you to take over the Mod until he could come back. it is a pg where you start low down in one of the races and you must build your way to the top. also you can hire troops to help fight the bad guys. meanwhile he will continue skinning modelling and terraining until he can come back. Thank You People." My personal opinion i that it´s a shame that Paul has been banned only for posting on wrong forum...his account should be reseted back. Thank You |
