I first started modelling in 3dsmax.. til I found out it was too complicating and hard. So I found milkshape, which was basic and easy.. then I found this tutorial on the tutorials page on the milkshape 3d website: http://www.dosfx.com/tutorials/csgirl/default.asp That tutorial is what started me modelling, this was over a year ago, and I've only gotten better since. |

That rock looks EXACTLY like the model I used for the Saiyan spaceships and the dragonballs. Same number of sides and everything. After I made a ball, I just skinned it, and magically I had a dragonball. Wow, your first model, you could skin that and make it look like the EXPO in disneyland and everyone would praise you for it.. What is the world coming to, and wtf am I saying. Maybe I need sleep......... |

Yeah im a quick learner you see that? Already got a nice rock and after I skin it it will be a Bunny Rabbit |

Haha.. maybe we can use that Bunny as an evil monsters in the map somewhere. Reminds me of my friends first model. It was a ball also. Only he said once it was skinned he'd have the eiffel tower.. I laughed at first. Then I checked my e-mail and got this. Funny what the world is coming to these days. I turned it into a Wc3 model and gave it a death animation. It was pretty funny using zerglings to try and destroy a tower roughly 1 trillion times their size. |

Well, I believe he had modelling experience before he told me he started modelling. He showed me a ball and told me it was his first model. He said once it was skinned, it would be the Eiffel tower. I laughed at him, of course. Between two and three weeks later I got that in my e-mail. Since then I spent over a month trying to make my own Eiffel Tower, which was almost exactly like his. It was about 10 thousand Polys, which is a lot counting the goku model isnt near 1000. It worked in Wc3 just fine, but you couldn't see the whole thing so I shrank it down and put it over in a city somewhere. I had zergs come and in and destory it. The death animation was simple, it slowly lowered its height and leaned as it went down to look like it was crumbling and falling over. I covered the area with a smoke model to make it look like dust from the rubble. It actually looked pretty good, and for a while I thought about releasing it to the public. Since then I've made: Eiffel Tower Big Ben Statue of Liberty Pantheon Stone Henge Roman Colliseum Washington Monument Sphynx Empire State Building Mall of America and last but not least.. my house, haha. They didn't take nearly as much time as you think. After the Eiffel Tower, everything went downhill from there. Stone Henge took a day, as did the Mall of America, and the Sphynx.. everything else took less than a week except statue of Liberty, which took two. |

Lol, I was thinking the same thing. Anyway, its 4:30 AM here so I'm gonna go to bed. I'll be up about noon to bust some ass on the map. I'm going to start adding in the enemies tomorrow, I'll post their levels and stats and try and get some feedback from everyone. For now.. goodnight. |

ummm, good sphere, but, for wc3 that is an impractical amount of segments :S |
| 08-02-2004, 09:10 AM | #598 |
Whats a segment? |
| 08-02-2004, 09:19 AM | #599 |
like, a polygon, you see how your sphere is really round? Well, if you made it less rounded, and sharper, but, it makes it so much more efficient in game, and makes the filesize much smaller... |

Ohhhhhhhhh I c! Hmmm Well I took that rock and turned it into a rabbit with a mustache. I dunno really how to animate at all.... I dunno how to do the textures... And I dunno what to do from where I am at now... |
