Singleplayer - World of Warcraft

Hi, I downloaded your demo lastnight, and it's very very well done! There are only a few small "bugs/details" that I can see. I'll tell you one: In the upper right day/week/location box, the name of the location ex. Darnassus, Teldrassil, is not capitolized. It's such a small thing, but can be easily fixed.

I came to this thread to volunteer for making a map or two. I will do Darkshore, a Night Elf village, preferably something in Northern Kalimdor. If you need me, please send a PM with the map you need, and features, details, etc. I'll terrain it, then send it to you for triggers and stuff.

Edit: If you apply, like the next post suggests, make sure you show them your demo. That way they can see your good progress.

WC3Campaigns offers unique Warcraft III mod hosting services for teams that are commited to success. We offer these benefits to hosted projects:

A forum for your project.
A user account on our server, which will let you store files for your project with FTP. You will get web space with this too, so your project can have its own web page. Your web pages may run PHP and CGI scripts.
A wc3campaigns.com email address. Additionally, we can set up mailing lists for project news, team discussion, general discussion, or anything else if you think it would be useful, though we would encourage you to use the forums instead.
An optional Subversion repository on the server. Projects may use this to manage the many files they are likely to have.
A bug database for bug tracking. This can be for use among the team, but also for the public after the project is finished.
A system for distributing your released project if it is too big to be served efficiently with HTTP or FTP. This will probably be in the form of a BitTorrent tracker.
If you'd like to get hosted, please email [email protected] with answers to the following three prompts.

Explain your project. We don't need a detailed view, just a general summary. Make sure this covers the scope of the project, as in how much work will have to be done.

Tell us about your team. List each member, what they will do, and any projects that they have worked on in the past. Also comment on the structure/hierarchy of the team, and how the team members will communicate with each other.

What progress have you made? What is left to be done? Please be very specific here, especially about the second question. Estimate the amount of time your team will need to reach certain important stages (first playable, alpha, finished).

Also be sure to give us your contact information. If your project looks good, we may want to chat with you on IRC, AIM, or MSN to get the details.

@FLUFF
well... actually the place name in the multiboard is a region string code, I didn't plan to add the place name to the board before. But the idea to put it on the board suddenly appear in my head... ^_^ So I thought it will be enough. We can fix it if you want to.

And you'd like to help us with some terrain? Could you make non-flat and detailed terrain for 3rd person view? ^_^ You could take Astranaar if you want to. Astranaar is a medium sized nightelf town in the middle of the island in the Ashenvale.

@JCarrill0
Like King said.. they rejected us already. Maybe because the idea of this campaign is... not original?

@Freakazoid
I checked thehubb... Well, please don't do the eastern region for now... see my post above... Do you want to take it? (Silithus)

Thanks Tony

Well, I just started Astranaar. Who did Ashenvale and Darnassus? They are both very well done, and I want my maps to blend smoothly with them. I think the air flight should take you from Darnassus to this town, instead of droppong you off in the middle of a forest. Comment on my progress so far.

PROGRESS REPORT:
Here is the entrance to the city. It's over a small river, and the character in the picture has just came from Ashenvale-1. This picture is from the World Editor, so it obviously looks better in game. Actually the picture kinda sucks, and of course it will improve as I work more.

they rejected you? thats surprising, allow me to speculate on that, 1. although gameplay was nice, there was not a whole lot of special stuff, not a whole lot of triggered spells, and no systems to boost gameplay, the shops weren't very varied in my opinion. and choosign classes was very confusing I wanted to be a hunter, but all i could find is a shaman

2. altough this claims to be a WoW like RPG, a lot of WoW's features have been forgotten.
- mounts
- pets (i think)
- the death spell (i have no idea, actually i never dies while playing)
- other stuff i can't remember

3. The same races are included, no extra races.

4. I like your teraining, but the triggering just didn't seem to be as good.

5. hardly any custom models, i believe the only significant one was the moonsabre tiger.

I'm sorry i could go on like this forever, I am a triggering so whenever I play a game, i play it thorugh the eyes ofa trigger not gamer, wondering if i could do this in wc3, or ow i could improve this, or how they did it. i am far too critical.

I wish UL had all the terrainers you have, we are quite short on them, we have modders, and triggers to spare though.

and oh yeah I looked over your first person camera, it seems almost identitcal to ours, except ours uses a bit of JASS. And your save system is very unessecary, a player can just load a saved map. And I never tried it though i looked over the triggers, and found that it started you off in your capital city (i think i didn't look at them all). A player could manipulate that, and i was wondering can a player go into an enemy capital?

anyways gj

and underwater map? probably blue fog, blue dalaran shield weather, and sea creatures, sounds cool

Ok, I have my first problem. The Demo Campaign uses a bunch of custom units like modified trees and buildings. In my map I need to use those custom units that are in the campaign. So do I just copy/paste all that custom unit data to my map, or make my own custom units like yours? :\

EDIT: I think I got it to work....

Ok, I'll just import it, use the campaing objects, then export to send to the team, where they will import into the "master" campaign. Thanks.

Who dares to enter our webbed and quiet thread, who dares the wrath of Darkoll Wolfgrim and the Sons of Gul'dan!

Cool, check our the hubb forums.

Btw GreyArchon, we have ALL of the LoW maps and Killst4r is in our team ^^ He is great! You should see all of his models!

Okay, we have release plans changed!

At the end the final release would be way too big packet to lift from the ground and would lag alot even on the Uber computers! With beantony we decided that we are going to have own versions of the campaign for Eastern and Western regions. You can of course load your account that you trained on western regions to eastern regions and visa versa. We haven't really decided the names for them but propably something like this: Warcraft III: World of Warcraft: Lands of Conflict (eastern continents) and Warcraft III: World of Warcraft: Kalimdor or something like that. We are also going to include an expansion set later on.. An expansion set for epic level heroes, Warcraft III: World of Warcraft: Crusade to Northrend, where you hang around, killin' creeps, playing cards with the undead and other boring stuff in the frozen plains of Northrend.

AND

A Special Edition (maybe) Where all the terrains are made by ME! =D (okay im not gonna broast with that) It's gonna be (you dun even have to guess) Warcraft III: World of Warcraft: Return to Draenor!!! Im gonna start it after I've completed my Ashenvale maps and Deadwind pass from Azeroth.

i must agree with grey archon, look at all these people! far more than UL :( . anyways, for your campaign problem import your map into thier campaign and save it, if they did it right it should import all the cutom data, under campaign units/doodads/abilities.
