OK if you wish to keep it an MMORPG or MORPG as you stated before you should be able to answer these questions: 1) How do you plan reliable saving? As we all know Text based is easily cracked, I could just post my numbers on this website as we speak 2) Map switching. Your gonna have to do it. How will you make your project worth swapping maps for? And i hope you take advantage of biggest map size :) 3) Custom models\skins you can't fit them all and you know it :) 4) Getting it finished before we quit WC3 :) Well i hope you can reply to my 4 questions\statements I too thought of making an mmorpg, but is wc3 suppose to be one? it could be, but should it? |

1) text is easily cracked. maybe. depending on how complex your trigger it. meaning putting in negatives etc.. 2)i don't know what you are asking for in this one. but yes there will be map switching. simply same characters,same skills, same everything EXCEPT quests and terrain. and they will be biggest sizes 3)custom models/skins. who said everything will be custom models/skins? only main characters you choose from will be new models and not all of them. skins and models don't have big size once compressed(50-100k). there will be FEW necessary skins added. most of WC characters are usable so why bother change? 4)it will not take long. maybe couple of months? everything seemed to be organized now. I will be posting up a new thread today. I hope it answered your questions? at least part of it |

Well you hit contact on most of them. Sorry if i indirectly implied all models were custom. The fact is most completely custom models have quite a high poly count and take up a lot of space (haven't seen many in barely an games). You only touched based on the text save. What i am saying is that it doesn't need to be cracked. Situation Tommy plays your mmorpg Tommy gets a good highlevel Tommy's friend starting playing Tommy gives out his Legit number code -or- Tommy posts it on forums or websites Thats why text save isn't so realiable. Think you will utilize hero save? I might think again it requires a administrator in the game as far as i know. |

this is kind of off topic, but... if you are making warcraft rpg game like legacies, it wouldn't call mmorpg, lol, because warcraft 3 ft engine can't have around a million people playing at once, so this would just be call a normal rpg mmorp=multi-massive online role playing, taking notice that this game is going to play, but not multi-massive, meaning alot of people online playing same game.. etc.... btw, i'm not going to read this post idiots... no offense |

MMORPG means 'massive multiplayer online role-playing games' It's an RPG. It has more than 1 player. You can play it online. So, as long as their Mod is MASSIVE, they can call it MMORPG until their hearts bleed with contentment. |

This is no longer the offical MORPG thread, the offical one is now Bitforst MORPG. So please, if you could post any further comments in there. It'd be best if a mod locked this or something. |
